Now Don’t Be Alarmed: The Day of The Lord Has Not Yet Come

Now we ask you, brothers, concerning the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ and our gathering-together to Him, that you not be quickly shaken from your understanding nor alarmed— neither by a spirit[a], nor by a word, nor by a letter as-if through us, how that the day of the Lord is present[b]. Let no one deceive you in any way, because it will not be present unless the apostasy[c] comes first and the man of lawlessness is revealed[d]— the son of [e] destruction, the one opposing and exalting himself over[f] everything being called god or an object-of-worship[g], so that he sits-down[h] in the temple[i] of God displaying[j] himself that he is god. Do you not remember that while still being with you I was telling you these things? And you know the thing restraining[k] now, so that he might be revealed in his own time.

For Lawlessness Is Being Restrained Right Now, But The Lawless One Will Come Later

For the mystery of lawlessness is already at-work[l], only there is the one restraining right-now until he comes[m] out of the midst[n]. And then the lawless one will be revealed, whom the Lord Jesus will kill with the breath of His mouth and do-away-with[o] by the appearance of His coming[p] whose coming is in accordance with the working of Satan, with all power and signs and wonders of [q] falsehood, 10 and with every deception of [r] unrighteousness for the ones perishing because they did not receive the love of the truth so that they might be saved. 11 And for this reason, God sends them a working of [s] error[t] so that they will believe the falsehood[u], 12 in order that all the ones not having believed in the truth but having taken-pleasure[v] in unrighteousness may be condemned.

Luke 22:1-13

The Priests Plot How To Kill Jesus

22 Now the Feast of Unleavened-Bread, the one being called Passover, was drawing-near. And the chief priests and the scribes were seeking as to how they might kill[a] Him, for they were fearing the people.

Judas Betrays Jesus To The Priests

And Satan entered into Judas, the one being called “Iscariot”, being one of the number of the twelve. And having gone, he talked-with the chief priests and [temple] captains as to how he might hand Him over to them. And they rejoiced[b] and agreed to give him money. And he consented, and was seeking a favorable-opportunity that he might hand Him over without[c] a crowd with them.

Jesus Celebrates Passover With The Twelve

And the [first] day of the Feast of Unleavened-Bread came— on which it-was-necessary that the Passover [lamb] be sacrificed. And He sent-forth Peter and John, having said, “Having gone, prepare the Passover [meal] for us in order that we may eat it ”. And the ones said to Him, “Where do You want us to prepare it?” 10 And the One said to them, “Behold— you having entered into the city, a man will meet you carrying a jar of water. Follow him to the house into which he proceeds. 11 And you will say to the master of the house, ‘The Teacher says to you, “Where is the guest-room where I may eat the Passover [meal] with My disciples?”’ 12 And that one will show you a large upstairs-room having been spread [with furnishings]. Prepare it there”. 13 And having gone, they found it just as He had told them. And they prepared the Passover [meal].
