1 Corinthians 12:27-13:3

You Are The Parts of Christ’s Body, Placed Where You Are By God

27 And you are the body of Christ, and body-parts in part[a]. 28 And God placed some[b] in the church as first, apostles[c]; second, prophets; third, teachers; then miracles; then gifts of healings, helps, administrations, kinds of tongues. 29 All are not apostles, are[d] they? All are not prophets, are they? All are not teachers, are they? All do not do miracles, do they? 30 All do not have gifts of healings, do they? All do not speak in tongues, do they? All do not interpret, do they? 31 But be zealous-for[e] the greater gifts.

The Value of Your God-Given Gift Is Measured By Your Love

And[f] I show you a way still[g] beyond measure[h]: 13 If I speak in the tongues of humans and of angels, but I do not have love, I have become a sounding brass [gong] or a clanging cymbal. And if I have prophecy and know all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have all faith so as to remove mountains, but I do not have love, I am nothing. And if I dole-out[i] all my possessions, and if I hand-over[j] my body so that I may boast[k], but I do not have love, I am profited nothing.

Matthew 9:35-10:4

The King Sends Out Messengers To The Nation: Divine Compassion Reaches Out To The People

35 And Jesus was going around all the cities and the villages, teaching in their synagogues, and proclaiming the good-news of the kingdom, and curing every disease and every infirmity. 36 And having seen the crowds, He felt-deep-feelings [of compassion] concerning them, because they had been troubled[a] and thrown-forth[b] like sheep not having a shepherd. 37 Then He says to His disciples, “The harvest is great, but the workers are few! 38 Therefore ask the Lord of the harvest that He send-out workers into His harvest”.

Jesus Grants The Twelve Power Over Demons And Every Disease

10 And having summoned His twelve disciples, He gave them authority over unclean spirits so as to be casting them out, and to be curing every disease and every infirmity. Now the names of the twelve apostles are these— first, Simon (the one being called Peter) and Andrew (his brother), and James (the son of Zebedee) and John (his brother), Philip and Bartholomew, Thomas and Matthew (the tax-collector), James (the son of Alphaeus) and Thaddaeus, Simon (the Cananaean[c]) and Judas the Iscariot[d] (the one also having handed Him over).
