Psalm 93

The Lord Reigns

93 (A)The Lord reigns; he is (B)robed in majesty;
    the Lord is (C)robed; he has (D)put on strength as his belt.
(E)Yes, the world is established; (F)it shall never be moved.
(G)Your throne is established from of old;
    (H)you are from everlasting.

(I)The floods have lifted up, O Lord,
    the floods have lifted up their voice;
    the floods lift up their roaring.
Mightier than the thunders of many waters,
    mightier than the waves of the sea,
    (J)the Lord (K)on high is mighty!

Your (L)decrees are very trustworthy;
    (M)holiness befits your house,
    O Lord, forevermore.

Psalm 96

Worship in the Splendor of Holiness

96 (A)Oh sing to the Lord (B)a new song;
    sing to the Lord, all the earth!
Sing to the Lord, bless his name;
    (C)tell of his salvation from day to day.
Declare his glory among the nations,
    his marvelous works among all the peoples!
For (D)great is the Lord, and (E)greatly to be praised;
    he is to be feared above (F)all gods.
For all the gods of the peoples are worthless idols,
    but the Lord (G)made the heavens.
Splendor and majesty are before him;
    (H)strength and beauty are in his sanctuary.

Ascribe to the Lord, O (I)families of the peoples,
    (J)ascribe to the Lord glory and strength!
Ascribe to the Lord (K)the glory due his name;
    bring (L)an offering, and (M)come into his courts!
Worship the Lord in (N)the splendor of holiness;[a]
    (O)tremble before him, all the earth!

10 Say among the nations, (P)“The Lord reigns!
    Yes, the world is established; it shall never be moved;
    he will (Q)judge the peoples with equity.”

11 Let (R)the heavens be glad, and let (S)the earth rejoice;
    let (T)the sea roar, and all that fills it;
12     let (U)the field exult, and everything in it!
Then shall all (V)the trees of the forest sing for joy
13     before the Lord, for he comes,
    for he comes (W)to judge the earth.
He will judge the world in righteousness,
    and the peoples in his faithfulness.

Psalm 34

Taste and See That the Lord Is Good

[a] Of David, when he (A)changed his behavior before (B)Abimelech, so that he drove him out, and he went away.

34 I will bless the Lord (C)at all times;
    his praise shall continually be in my mouth.
My soul (D)makes its boast in the Lord;
    let the humble hear and (E)be glad.
Oh, (F)magnify the Lord with me,
    and let us exalt his name together!

I (G)sought the Lord, and he answered me
    and delivered me from all my fears.
Those who look to him are (H)radiant,
    and their faces shall never be ashamed.
(I)This poor man cried, and the Lord heard him
    and (J)saved him out of all his troubles.
(K)The angel of the Lord (L)encamps
    around those who fear him, and delivers them.

Oh, (M)taste and see that (N)the Lord is good!
    (O)Blessed is the man who takes refuge in him!
Oh, fear the Lord, you his saints,
    for those who fear him have no lack!
10 (P)The young lions suffer want and hunger;
    but those who (Q)seek the Lord lack no good thing.

11 (R)Come, O children, listen to me;
    (S)I will teach you the fear of the Lord.
12 (T)What man is there who desires life
    and loves many days, that he may (U)see good?
13 (V)Keep your tongue from evil
    and your lips from (W)speaking deceit.
14 (X)Turn away from evil and do good;
    seek peace and (Y)pursue it.

15 (Z)The eyes of the Lord are toward the righteous
    (AA)and his ears toward their cry.
16 (AB)The face of the Lord is against those who do evil,
    to (AC)cut off the memory of them from the earth.
17 (AD)When the righteous cry for help, the Lord hears
    and delivers them out of all their troubles.
18 The Lord is near to (AE)the brokenhearted
    and saves (AF)the crushed in spirit.

19 (AG)Many are the afflictions of the righteous,
    (AH)but the Lord delivers him out of them all.
20 He keeps all his bones;
    (AI)not one of them is broken.
21 (AJ)Affliction will slay the wicked,
    and those who hate the righteous will be condemned.
22 The Lord (AK)redeems the life of his servants;
    none of those who take refuge in him will be (AL)condemned.

2 Samuel 6:12-23

12 And it was told King David, “The Lord has blessed the household of Obed-edom and all that belongs to him, because of the ark of God.” (A)So David went and brought up the ark of God from the house of Obed-edom (B)to the city of David with rejoicing. 13 And when (C)those who bore the ark of the Lord had gone six steps, (D)he sacrificed an ox and a fattened animal. 14 And David (E)danced before the Lord with all his might. And David was (F)wearing a linen ephod. 15 So David and all the house of Israel brought up the ark of the Lord with shouting and with the sound of the horn.

David and Michal

16 As the ark of the Lord came into the city of David, Michal the daughter of Saul looked out of the window and saw King David leaping and dancing before the Lord, and she despised him in her heart. 17 And they brought in the ark of the Lord and set it (G)in its place, inside the tent that David had pitched for it. (H)And David offered burnt offerings and peace offerings before the Lord. 18 And when David had finished offering the burnt offerings and the peace offerings, (I)he blessed the people in the name of the Lord of hosts 19 and distributed among all the people, the whole multitude of Israel, both men and women, a cake of bread, a portion of meat,[a] and a cake of raisins to each one. (J)Then all the people departed, each to his house.

20 And David returned to bless his household. But Michal the daughter of Saul came out to meet David and said, “How the king of Israel honored himself today, (K)uncovering himself today before the eyes of his servants' female servants, as one of the (L)vulgar fellows shamelessly uncovers himself!” 21 And David said to Michal, “It was before the Lord, (M)who chose me above your father and above all his house, to appoint me as prince[b] over Israel, the people of the Lord—and I will celebrate before the Lord. 22 I will make myself yet more contemptible than this, and I will be abased in your[c] eyes. But by the female servants of whom you have spoken, by them I shall be held in honor.” 23 And Michal the daughter of Saul had no child to the day of her death.

Romans 14:7-12

For (A)none of us lives to himself, and none of us dies to himself. For if we live, we live to the Lord, and if we die, we die to the Lord. So then, (B)whether we live or whether we die, we are the Lord's. For to this end Christ (C)died and lived again, that he might be Lord both (D)of the dead and of the living.

10 Why do you pass judgment on your brother? Or you, why do you despise your brother? For (E)we will all stand before (F)the judgment seat of God; 11 for it is written,

(G)“As I live, says the Lord, every knee shall bow to me,
    and every tongue shall confess[a] to God.”

12 So then (H)each of us will give an account of himself to God.

John 1:43-51

Jesus Calls Philip and Nathanael

43 (A)The next day Jesus decided (B)to go to Galilee. He found Philip and said to him, “Follow me.” 44 Now (C)Philip was from Bethsaida, the city of Andrew and Peter. 45 Philip found (D)Nathanael and said to him, “We have found him of whom (E)Moses in the Law and also the prophets wrote, Jesus (F)of Nazareth, (G)the son of Joseph.” 46 Nathanael said to him, (H)“Can anything good come out of Nazareth?” Philip said to him, “Come and see.” 47 Jesus saw Nathanael coming toward him and said of him, “Behold, (I)an Israelite indeed, (J)in whom there is no deceit!” 48 Nathanael said to him, “How (K)do you know me?” Jesus answered him, “Before Philip called you, when you were under the fig tree, I saw you.” 49 Nathanael answered him, (L)“Rabbi, (M)you are the Son of God! You are the (N)King of Israel!” 50 Jesus answered him, “Because I said to you, ‘I saw you under the fig tree,’ do you believe? You will see greater things than these.” 51 And he said to him, “Truly, truly, I say to you,[a] you will see (O)heaven opened, and (P)the angels of God ascending and descending on (Q)the Son of Man.”
