Version
Psalm 72

72 Give Your judgments to the King, O God, and Your righteousness to the King’s Son.

He shall judge Your people in righteousness, and Your poor with equity.

The mountains and the hills shall bring peace to the people by justice.

He shall judge the poor of the people. He shall save the children of the needy and shall subdue the oppressor.

They shall fear You as long as the Sun and Moon endure, from generation to generation.

He shall come down like the rain upon the mown grass, as the showers that water the Earth.

In His days shall the righteous flourish, and abundance of peace shall be so long as the Moon endures.

Also, His dominion shall be from sea to sea, and from the river to the ends of the land.

Those who dwell in the wilderness shall kneel before Him; and His enemies shall lick the dust.

10 The kings of Tarshish, and of the isles, shall bring presents. The kings of Sheba, and Seba, shall bring gifts.

11 Indeed, all kings shall worship Him. All nations shall serve Him.

12 For He shall deliver the poor when He cries, the needy also, and he who has no helper.

13 He shall be merciful to the poor and needy and shall preserve the souls of the poor.

14 He shall redeem their souls from deceit and violence, and their blood shall be dear in His sight.

15 Indeed, He shall live; and to Him shall they give of the gold of Sheba. Also, they shall pray for Him continually and daily bless Him.

16 A handful of grain shall be sown in the Earth, in the top of the mountains. The fruit thereof shall shake like Lebanon; and the children out of the city shall flourish like the grass of the Earth.

17 His name shall be forever. His name shall endure as long as the Sun. All nations shall bless Him and be blessed in Him.

18 Blessed be the LORD God, the God of Israel, Who only does wondrous things.

19 And blessed be His glorious Name forever. And let all the Earth be filled with His Glory. So be it, even so be it.

20 Here ends the prayers of David, the son of Jesse. A Psalm committed to Asaph

Psalm 111

111 I will praise the LORD with my whole heart in the assembly and the congregation of the Just.

The works of the LORD are great and are sought out by all those who love them.

His work is beautiful and glorious; and His righteousness endures forever.

He has made His wonderful works to be held in remembrance. The LORD is merciful and full of compassion.

He has given a portion to those who fear Him. He will be ever-mindful of His Covenant.

He has shown the power of His works to His people, in giving to them the heritage of the heathen.

The works of His hands are truth and judgment. All His statutes are true.

They are established forever and ever and are done in truth and equity.

He sent redemption to His people. He has commanded His Covenant forever. Holy and fearful is His Name.

10 The beginning of wisdom is the fear of the LORD. All those who observe them have good understanding. His praise endures forever. Praise the LORD

Psalm 113

113 Praise, O you servants of the LORD! Praise the Name of the LORD!

Blessed be the Name of the LORD from henceforth and forever!

The LORD’s Name is praised from the rising of the Sun to the going down of the same.

The LORD is high above all nations, His Glory above the heavens.

Who is like the LORD our God, Who has His dwelling on High;

Who abases Himself to behold things in the heavens and on the Earth?

He raises the needy out of the dust, lifts up the poor out of the dung,

so that He may set him with the princes, even with the princes of His people.

He makes the barren woman dwell with a family, a joyful mother of children. Praise the LORD!

Isaiah 28:9-22

To whom shall he teach knowledge? And whom shall he make understand the things that he hears? Those who are weaned from the milk drawn from the breasts.

10 For “precept upon precept, precept upon precept, line upon line, line upon line, here a little, there a little.”

11 For with a stammering tongue and with a strange language he shall speak to this people,

12 to whom He said, “This is the rest: give rest to him who is weary.” And, “This is the refreshing.” But they would not hear.

13 Therefore shall the Word of the LORD be to them “precept upon precept, precept upon precept, line unto line, line unto line, here a little, there a little”, so that they may go and fall backward and be broken and be snared and be taken.

14 Therefore, hear the Word of the LORD, you scornful men who rule this people who are at Jerusalem,

15 because you have said, “We have made a covenant with death, and with Hell are we in agreement. Though a scourge run over and pass through, it shall not come at us, for we have made falsehood our refuge, and under vanity are we hidden.”

16 Therefore, thus says the LORD God: “Behold, I will lay a stone in Zion, a tried stone, a precious cornerstone, a sure foundation. He who believes shall not hurry.

17 “I will also lay judgment to the rule, and righteousness to the balance. And the hail shall sweep away the vain confidence. And the waters shall overflow the secret place.

18 “And your covenant with death shall be annulled, and your agreement with hell shall not stand. When a scourge shall run over and pass through, then shall you be trampled down by it.

19 “When it passes over, it shall take you away. For it shall pass through every morning, in the day and in the night. And there shall be only fear to make you understand the hearing.”

20 For the bed is so short that it cannot suffice, and the covering so narrow that one cannot wrap himself.

21 For the LORD shall stand, as on Mount Perazim. He shall be angry, as in the Valley of Gibeon, so that He may do His work (His strange work) and bring to pass His act (His strange act).

22 Now, therefore, do not be mockers, lest your bonds increase. For I have heard the LORD of Hosts has determined a consumption upon the whole Earth.

Revelation 21:9-21

And there came to me one of the seven angels, who had the seven vials full of the seven last plagues, and talked with me, saying, “Come. I will show you the Bride, the Lamb’s wife.”

10 And he carried me away in the Spirit to a great and high mountain. And he showed me the great city, the holy Jerusalem, descending out of Heaven from God,

11 having the Glory of God. And she shined like a most precious stone—as a jasper stone, clear as crystal—

12 and had a great high wall with twelve gates. And at the gates were twelve angels. And the names written on them were the twelve tribes of the children of Israel.

13 On the east part, there were three gates; and on the north side, three gates; on the south side three gates; and on the west side, three gates.

14 And the wall of the city had twelve foundations; and in them, the names of the Lamb’s twelve Apostles.

15 And he who walked with me had a golden reed, with which to measure the city, and the gates thereof, and the wall thereof.

16 And the city lays square. And the length is as large as the breadth of it. And he measured the city with the reed: twelve thousand furlongs. And the length and the breadth and the height of it are equal.

17 And he measured the wall thereof: 144 cubits, by the measure of man (that is, of the angel).

18 And the structure of the wall was of jasper. And the city was pure gold, like clear glass.

19 And the foundations of the wall of the city were garnished with all kinds of precious stones. The first foundation was of jasper; the second, Sapphire; the third, of Chalcedony; the fourth of an Emerald;

20 the fifth, of a Sardonyx; the sixth, of a Sardius; the seventh, of a Chrysolite; the eighth, of a Beryl; the ninth, of a Topaz; the tenth, of a Chrysoprase; the eleventh, of a Jacinth; the twelfth, an Amethyst.

21 And the twelve gates were twelve pearls. And every gate is made of one pearl. And the street of the city is pure gold, as shining glass.

Luke 1:26-38

26 And in the sixth month, the angel Gabriel was sent from God to a city of Galilee, named Nazareth,

27 to a virgin betrothed to a man whose name was Joseph, of the House of David. And the virgin’s name was Mary.

28 And the angel went in to her, and said, “Hail, you who are freely beloved. The Lord is with you. You are blessed among women.”

29 And when she saw him, she was troubled at his saying, and thought what kind of greeting that should be.

30 Then the angel said to her, “Do not fear, Mary. For you have found favor with God.

31 “For lo, you shall conceive in your womb, and bear a Son, and shall call His Name, Jesus.

32 “He shall be great and shall be called the Son of the Most High, and the Lord God shall give to Him the throne of his father David.

33 “And He shall reign over the House of Jacob forever. And of His Kingdom shall be no end.”

34 Then Mary said to the angel, “How shall this be, seeing I do not know man?”

35 And the angel answered, and said to her, “The Holy Ghost shall come upon you, and the power of the Most High shall overshadow you. Therefore, also, that Holy Thing which shall be born by you, shall be called the Son of God.

36 “And behold, your cousin, Elizabeth. She has also conceived a son in her old age. And this is her sixth month, who was called barren.

37 “For with God shall nothing be impossible.”

38 Then Mary said, “Behold the servant of the Lord. May it be to me according to your word.” So, the angel departed from her.
