Praise the Lord (B)from the heavens;
praise him (C)in the heights!
2 Praise him, all his angels;
praise him, all his (D)hosts!
3 Praise him, sun and moon,
praise him, all you shining stars!
4 Praise him, you (E)highest heavens,
and you (F)waters above the heavens!
5 (G)Let them praise the name of the Lord!
For (H)he commanded and they were created.
6 And he (I)established them forever and ever;
he gave (J)a decree, and it shall not (K)pass away.[a]

Sing to the Lord a New Song
149 (AE)Praise the Lord!
Sing to the Lord (AF)a new song,
his praise in (AG)the assembly of the godly!
2 Let Israel (AH)be glad in (AI)his Maker;
let the children of Zion rejoice in their (AJ)King!
3 Let them praise his name with (AK)dancing,
making melody to him with (AL)tambourine and (AM)lyre!
4 For the Lord (AN)takes pleasure in his people;
he (AO)adorns the humble with salvation.
5 Let the godly exult in glory;
let them (AP)sing for joy on their (AQ)beds.
6 Let (AR)the high praises of God be in their throats
and (AS)two-edged swords in their hands,
7 to execute vengeance on the nations
and punishments on the peoples,

Tremble at the Presence of the Lord
114 When (A)Israel went out from Egypt,
the house of Jacob from (B)a people of strange language,
2 Judah became his (C)sanctuary,
Israel his dominion.
3 (D)The sea looked and fled;
(E)Jordan turned back.
4 (F)The mountains skipped like rams,
the hills like lambs.
5 What (G)ails you, O sea, that you flee?
O Jordan, that you turn back?
6 O mountains, that you skip like rams?
O hills, like lambs?
7 (H)Tremble, O earth, at the presence of the Lord,
at the presence of the God of Jacob,

To Your Name Give Glory

(M)for the sake of your steadfast love and your faithfulness!

God Commissions Joshua
1 After the death of Moses the (A)servant of the Lord, the Lord said to Joshua the son of Nun, Moses' (B)assistant, 2 “Moses my servant is dead. Now therefore arise, go over this Jordan, you and all this people, into the land that I am giving to them, to the people of Israel. 3 (C)Every place that the sole of your foot will tread upon I have given to you, just as I promised to Moses. 4 (D)From the wilderness and this Lebanon as far as the great river, the river Euphrates, all the land of the Hittites to the Great Sea toward the going down of the sun shall be your territory. 5 (E)No man shall be able to stand before you all the days of your life. Just (F)as I was with Moses, so (G)I will be with you. (H)I will not leave you or forsake you. 6 (I)Be strong and courageous, for you shall cause this people to inherit the land that I swore to their fathers to give them. 7 Only be strong and (J)very courageous, being careful to do according to all the law (K)that Moses my servant commanded you. (L)Do not turn from it to the right hand or to the left, that you may have good success[a] wherever you go. 8 This Book of the Law shall not depart from your mouth, but (M)you shall meditate on it day and night, so that you may be careful to do according to all that is written in it. For then you will make your way prosperous, and then you will have good success. 9 Have I not commanded you? (N)Be strong and courageous. (O)Do not be frightened, and do not be dismayed, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.”
Joshua Assumes Command
10 And Joshua commanded the (P)officers of the people, 11 “Pass through the midst of the camp and command the people, ‘Prepare your provisions, for (Q)within three days (R)you are to pass over this Jordan to go in to take possession of the land that the Lord your God is giving you to possess.’”
12 And to the Reubenites, the Gadites, and the half-tribe of Manasseh Joshua said, 13 “Remember the word that (S)Moses the servant of the Lord commanded you, saying, ‘The Lord your God is providing you a place of rest and will give you this land.’ 14 Your wives, your little ones, and your livestock shall remain in the land that Moses gave you beyond the Jordan, but all the men of valor among you shall pass over armed before your brothers and shall help them, 15 (T)until the Lord gives rest to your brothers as he has to you, and they also take possession of the land that the Lord your God is giving them. (U)Then you shall return to the land of your possession and shall possess it, the land that Moses the servant of the Lord gave you beyond the Jordan toward the sunrise.”
16 And they answered Joshua, “All that you have commanded us we will do, and wherever you send us we will go. 17 Just as we obeyed Moses in all things, so we will obey you. Only may the Lord your God (V)be with you, as he was with Moses! 18 Whoever rebels against your commandment and disobeys your words, whatever you command him, shall be put to death. (W)Only be strong and courageous.”
3 When we had come in sight of Cyprus, leaving it on the left we sailed to Syria and landed at Tyre, for there the ship was to unload its cargo. 4 And having sought out the disciples, we stayed there for seven days. And (A)through the Spirit they were telling Paul not to go on to Jerusalem. 5 When our days there were ended, we departed and went on our journey, and they all, with wives and children, (B)accompanied us until we were outside the city. And (C)kneeling down on the beach, we prayed 6 and said farewell to one another. Then we went on board the ship, and they returned home.
7 When we had finished the voyage from Tyre, we arrived at Ptolemais, and we greeted (D)the brothers[a] and stayed with them for one day. 8 On the next day we departed and came to Caesarea, and we entered the house of (E)Philip (F)the evangelist, who was one of the seven, and stayed with him. 9 He had four unmarried daughters, (G)who prophesied. 10 While we were staying for many days, a prophet named (H)Agabus came down from Judea. 11 And coming to us, he (I)took Paul's belt and bound his own feet and hands and said, (J)“Thus says the Holy Spirit, (K)‘This is how the Jews[b] at Jerusalem will bind the man who owns this belt and (L)deliver him into the hands of the Gentiles.’” 12 When we heard this, we and the people there (M)urged him not to go up to Jerusalem. 13 Then Paul answered, (N)“What are you doing, weeping and breaking my heart? For (O)I am ready not only to be imprisoned but even to die in Jerusalem (P)for the name of the Lord Jesus.” 14 And since he would not be persuaded, (Q)we ceased and said, (R)“Let the will of the Lord be done.”
15 After these days we got ready and went up to Jerusalem.
Jesus Heals a Man with an Unclean Spirit
21 (A)And they went into Capernaum, and immediately (B)on the Sabbath (C)he entered the synagogue and was teaching. 22 And (D)they were astonished at his teaching, (E)for he taught them as one who had authority, and not as the scribes. 23 And immediately there was in their synagogue a man with an unclean spirit. And he cried out, 24 (F)“What have you to do with us, Jesus of Nazareth? Have you come to destroy us? (G)I know who you are—(H)the Holy One of God.” 25 But Jesus (I)rebuked him, saying, “Be silent, and come out of him!” 26 And the unclean spirit, (J)convulsing him and (K)crying out with a loud voice, came out of him. 27 And they were all (L)amazed, so that they questioned among themselves, saying, “What is this? (M)A new teaching with authority! He commands even the unclean spirits, and they obey him.”
