Deuteronomy 16:9-12

The Festival of Weeks

“You are to count seven weeks, counting the weeks from the time the sickle is first put to the standing grain.(A) 10 You are to celebrate the Festival of Weeks to the Lord your God with a freewill offering that you give in proportion to how the Lord your God has blessed you. 11 Rejoice(B) before Yahweh your God in the place where He chooses to have His name dwell—you, your son and daughter, your male and female slave, the Levite within your gates, as well as the foreigner, the fatherless, and the widow among you. 12 Remember that you were slaves in Egypt; carefully follow these statutes.

Acts 4:18-21

18 So they called for them and ordered them not to preach or teach at all in the name of Jesus.

19 But Peter and John answered them, “Whether it’s right in the sight of God for us to listen to you rather than to God, you decide;(A) 20 for we are unable to stop speaking about what we have seen and heard.”(B)

21 After threatening them further, they released them. They found no way to punish them, because the people were all giving glory to God over what had been done;(C)

Acts 4:23-33

Prayer for Boldness

23 After they were released, they went to their own people and reported everything the chief priests and the elders had said to them. 24 When they heard this, they all raised their voices to God and said, “Master, You are the One who made the heaven, the earth, and the sea, and everything in them.(A) 25 You said through the Holy Spirit, by the mouth of our father David Your servant:[a]

Why did the Gentiles rage
and the peoples plot futile things?
26 The kings of the earth took their stand
and the rulers assembled together
against the Lord and against His Messiah.(B)[b]

27 “For, in fact, in this city both Herod and Pontius Pilate, with the Gentiles and the people[c] of Israel, assembled together against Your holy Servant Jesus, whom You anointed,(C) 28 to do whatever Your hand and Your plan had predestined to take place. 29 And now, Lord, consider their threats, and grant that Your slaves may speak Your message with complete boldness,(D) 30 while You stretch out Your hand for healing, signs, and wonders(E) to be performed through the name of Your holy Servant Jesus.” 31 When they had prayed, the place where they were assembled was shaken, and they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak God’s message with boldness.(F)

Believers Sharing

32 Now the large group of those who believed were of one heart and mind, and no one said that any of his possessions was his own, but instead they held everything in common.(G) 33 And the apostles were giving testimony with great power to the resurrection of the Lord Jesus, and great grace was on all of them.(H)

John 4:19-26

19 “Sir,” the woman replied, “I see that You are a prophet. 20 Our fathers worshiped on this mountain,[a](A) yet you Jews say that the place to worship is in Jerusalem.”(B)

21 Jesus told her, “Believe Me, woman, an hour is coming when you will worship the Father neither on this mountain nor in Jerusalem. 22 You Samaritans[b] worship what you do not know. We worship what we do know, because salvation is from the Jews.(C) 23 But an hour is coming, and is now here,(D) when the true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and truth. Yes, the Father wants such people to worship Him. 24 God is spirit,(E) and those who worship Him must worship in spirit and truth.”(F)

25 The woman said to Him, “I know that Messiah[c](G) is coming” (who is called Christ(H)). “When He comes, He will explain everything to us.”

26 “I am He,”(I) Jesus told her, “the One speaking to you.”
