Creation’s Praise of the Lord
1 Hallelujah!
Praise the Lord from the heavens;
praise him in the heights.(A)
2 Praise him, all his angels;
praise him, all his heavenly armies.(B)
3 Praise him, sun and moon;
praise him, all you shining stars.(C)
4 Praise him, highest heavens,
and you waters above the heavens.(D)
5 Let them praise the name of the Lord,
for he commanded, and they were created.(E)
6 He set them in position forever and ever;
he gave an order that will never pass away.(F)
7 Praise the Lord from the earth,
all sea monsters and ocean depths,(G)
8 lightning[a] and hail, snow and cloud,
stormy wind that executes his command,(H)
9 mountains and all hills,
fruit trees and all cedars,(I)
10 wild animals and all cattle,
creatures that crawl and flying birds,(J)
11 kings of the earth and all peoples,
princes and all judges of the earth,(K)
12 young men as well as young women,

13 Let them praise the name of the Lord,
for his name alone is exalted.
His majesty covers heaven and earth.(M)
14 He has raised up a horn for his people,
resulting in praise to all his faithful ones,

Praise for God’s Triumph
1 Hallelujah!
Sing to the Lord a new song,(O)
his praise in the assembly of the faithful.(P)
2 Let Israel celebrate its Maker;
let the children of Zion rejoice in their King.(Q)
3 Let them praise his name with dancing
and make music to him with tambourine and lyre.(R)
4 For the Lord takes pleasure in his people;(S)
he adorns the humble with salvation.(T)
5 Let the faithful celebrate in triumphal glory;
let them shout for joy on their beds.(U)
6 Let the exaltation of God be in their mouths[b]
and a double-edged sword in their hands,(V)

God’s Deliverance of Israel
1 When Israel came out of Egypt—
the house of Jacob from a people

4 The mountains skipped like rams,

Glory to God Alone
1 Not to us, Lord, not to us,
but to your name give glory

Jethro’s Visit
18 Moses’s father-in-law, Jethro, the priest of Midian,(A) heard about everything that God had done for Moses and for God’s people Israel when the Lord brought Israel out of Egypt.
2 Now Jethro, Moses’s father-in-law, had taken in Zipporah,(B) Moses’s wife, after he had sent her back, 3 along with her two sons, one of whom was named Gershom[a] (because Moses had said, “I have been a resident alien in a foreign land”)(C) 4 and the other Eliezer (because he had said, “The God of my father was my helper and rescued me from Pharaoh’s sword”).[b]
5 Moses’s father-in-law, Jethro, along with Moses’s wife and sons, came to him in the wilderness where he was camped at the mountain of God.(D) 6 He sent word to Moses, “I, your father-in-law Jethro, am coming to you with your wife and her two sons.”
7 So Moses went out to meet his father-in-law, bowed down,(E) and then kissed him. They asked each other how they had been[c] and went into the tent. 8 Moses recounted to his father-in-law all that the Lord had done to Pharaoh and the Egyptians for Israel’s sake, all the hardships that confronted them on the way, and how the Lord rescued them.(F)
9 Jethro rejoiced over all the good things the Lord had done for Israel when he rescued them from the power of the Egyptians. 10 “Blessed be the Lord,”(G) Jethro exclaimed, “who rescued you from the power of Egypt and from the power of Pharaoh. He has rescued the people from under the power of Egypt! 11 Now I know that the Lord is greater than all gods, because he did wonders when the Egyptians acted arrogantly against Israel.”[d](H)
12 Then Jethro, Moses’s father-in-law, brought a burnt offering and sacrifices to God, and Aaron came with all the elders of Israel to eat a meal with Moses’s father-in-law in God’s presence.
7 Dear friends, I am not writing you a new command(A) but an old command that you have had from the beginning. The old command is the word(B) you have heard. 8 Yet I am writing you a new command, which is true in him and in you, because the darkness is passing away(C) and the true light(D) is already shining.(E) 9 The one who says he is in the light but hates his brother or sister(F) is in the darkness until now. 10 The one who loves his brother or sister(G) remains in the light, and there is no cause for stumbling in him.[a] 11 But the one who hates his brother or sister(H) is in the darkness, walks in the darkness,(I) and doesn’t know where he’s going,(J) because the darkness has blinded his eyes.
Reasons for Writing
12 I am writing to you, little children,
since your sins have been forgiven
on account of his name.(K)
13 I am writing to you, fathers,
because you have come to know
the one who is from the beginning.(L)
I am writing to you, young men,
because you have conquered the evil one.(M)
14 I have written to you, children,
because you have come to know the Father.
I have written to you, fathers,
because you have come to know
the one who is from the beginning.
I have written to you, young men,
because you are strong,
God’s word(N) remains in you,
and you have conquered the evil one.
A Warning about the World
15 Do not love the world(O) or the things in the world. If anyone loves the world, the love of the Father is not in him. 16 For everything in the world—the lust of the flesh,(P) the lust of the eyes,(Q) and the pride(R) in one’s possessions—is not from the Father, but is from the world. 17 And the world with its lust is passing away,(S) but the one who does the will of God(T) remains forever.(U)

The Longer Ending of Mark: Appearances of the Risen Lord
[9 Early(A) on the first day of the week,(B) after he had risen,(C) he appeared first to Mary Magdalene,(D) out of whom he had driven seven demons.(E) 10 She went and reported to those who had been with him, as they were mourning and weeping. 11 Yet, when they heard that he was alive and had been seen by her, they did not believe it.(F)
12 After this, he appeared(G) in a different form to two of them walking on their way into the country.(H) 13 And they went and reported it to the rest, who did not believe them either.
The Great Commission
14 Later he appeared to the Eleven(I) themselves as they were reclining at the table. He rebuked their unbelief and hardness of heart, because they did not believe those who saw him after he had risen.(J) 15 Then(K) he said to them, “Go into all the world(L) and preach the gospel to all creation.(M) 16 Whoever believes(N) and is baptized will be saved,(O) but whoever does not believe will be condemned.(P) 17 And these signs will accompany those who believe: In my name they will drive out demons; they will speak in new tongues;[b] 18 they will pick up snakes; [c](Q) if they should drink anything deadly, it will not harm(R) them; they will lay hands on(S) the sick, and they will get well.”
The Ascension
19 So the Lord Jesus, after speaking to them,(T) was taken up into heaven(U) and sat down at the right hand(V) of God. 20 And they went out and preached everywhere, while the Lord worked with them and confirmed the word by the accompanying signs.]
