Thanksgiving for Rescue from Death.

30 I will (A)exalt You, Lord, for You have (B)lifted me up,
And have not let my (C)enemies rejoice over me.
2 Lord my God,
I (D)cried to You for help, and You (E)healed me.
3 Lord, You have (F)brought up my soul from [a]Sheol;
You have kept me alive, [b]that I would not (G)go down to the pit.
4 (H)Sing praise to the Lord, you (I)His godly ones,
And (J)praise the mention of His holiness.
5 For (K)His anger is but for a moment,
His (L)favor is for a lifetime;
Weeping may (M)last for the night,
But a shout of joy comes in the morning.
6 Now as for me, I said in my prosperity,
“I will (N)never be moved.”
7 Lord, by Your favor You have made my mountain to stand strong;
You (O)hid Your face, I was dismayed.
8 To You, Lord, I called,
And to the Lord I pleaded for compassion:
9 “What gain is there in my blood, if I (P)go down to the pit?
Will the (Q)dust praise You? Will it declare Your faithfulness?

32 (A)How blessed is he whose wrongdoing is forgiven,
Whose sin is covered!
2 How blessed is a person whose guilt the Lord (B)does not take into account,
And in whose spirit there is (C)no deceit!
3 When (D)I kept silent about my sin, (E)my [b]body wasted away
Through my [c](F)groaning all day long.
4 For day and night (G)Your hand was heavy upon me;
My [d](H)vitality failed as with the dry heat of summer. Selah
5 I (I)acknowledged my sin to You,
And I (J)did not hide my guilt;
I said, “(K)I will confess my wrongdoings to the Lord”;
And You (L)forgave the guilt of my sin. Selah
6 Therefore, let everyone who is godly pray to You [e](M)in a time when You may be found;
Certainly (N)in a flood of great waters, they will not reach him.
7 You are (O)my hiding place; You (P)keep me from trouble;
You surround me with [f](Q)songs of deliverance. Selah
8 I will (R)instruct you and teach you in the way which you should go;
I will advise you (S)with My eye upon you.
9 Do not be (T)like the horse or like the mule, which have no understanding,
Whose trappings include bit and bridle to hold them in check,
Otherwise they will not come near to you.
10 The (U)sorrows of the wicked are many,
But (V)the one who trusts in the Lord, goodness will surround him.
11 Be (W)glad in the Lord and rejoice, you righteous ones;
And shout for joy, all you who are (X)upright in heart.

Thirsting for God in Trouble and Exile.

42 As the deer [b]pants for the water brooks,
So my soul [c](A)pants for You, God.
2 My soul (B)thirsts for God, for the (C)living God;
When shall I come and [d](D)appear before God?
3 My (E)tears have been my food day and night,
While they (F)say to me all day long, “Where is your God?”
4 I remember these things and (G)pour out my soul within me.
For I (H)used to go over with the multitude and walk them to the house of God,
With a voice of (I)joy and thanksgiving, a multitude celebrating a festival.
5 (J)Why are you [e](K)in despair, my soul?
And why are you (L)restless within me?
(M)Wait for God, for I will [f]again praise [g]Him
For the [h](N)help of His [i]presence, my God.
6 My soul is [j]in despair within me;
Therefore I (O)remember You from (P)the land of the Jordan
And the [k]peaks of (Q)Hermon, from Mount Mizar.
7 Deep calls to deep at the sound of Your waterfalls;
All Your (R)breakers and Your waves have passed over me.
8 The Lord will (S)send His goodness in the daytime;
And His song will be with me (T)in the night,
A prayer to (U)the God of my life.
9 I will say to God (V)my rock, “Why have You forgotten me?
Why do I go about (W)mourning [l]because of the (X)oppression of the enemy?”
10 As a shattering of my bones, my adversaries taunt me,
While they (Y)say to me all day long, “Where is your God?”
11 (Z)Why are you [m]in despair, my soul?
And why are you restless within me?
Wait for God, for I will again praise [n]Him
For the [o]help of His presence, my God.
Prayer for Help.
43 (AA)Vindicate me, God, and (AB)plead my case against an ungodly nation;
[p]Save me from (AC)the deceitful and unjust person!
2 For You are the (AD)God of my strength; why have You (AE)rejected me?
Why do I go about (AF)mourning [q]because of the oppression of the enemy?
17 “If you say in your heart, ‘These nations are greater than I; how can I (A)dispossess them?’ 18 you are not to be afraid of them; you shall (B)remember well what the Lord your God did to Pharaoh and to all Egypt: 19 (C)the great trials which your eyes saw and the signs and the wonders, and the mighty hand and the outstretched arm by which the Lord your God brought you out. The Lord your God will do the same to all the peoples of whom you are afraid. 20 Indeed, the Lord your God will send (D)the hornet against them, until those who are left and hide themselves from you perish. 21 You are not to be terrified of them, because (E)the Lord your God is in your midst, (F)a great and awesome God. 22 (G)And the Lord your God will drive away these nations from you little by little; you will not be able to put an end to them quickly, otherwise the [a]wild animals would become too numerous for you. 23 (H)But the Lord your God will turn them over to you, and will [b]throw them into great confusion until they are destroyed. 24 (I)And He will hand over their kings to you, so that you will eliminate their name from under heaven; (J)no one will be able to stand against you until you have destroyed them. 25 The carved images of their gods you are to (K)burn with fire; you shall (L)not covet the silver or the gold that is on them, nor take it for yourselves, or you will be (M)trapped by it; for it is an (N)abomination to the Lord your God. 26 And you shall not bring an abomination into your house and become (O)designated for destruction, like it; you are to utterly detest it, and you are to utterly loathe it, for it is something designated for destruction.
Godly Living
3 (A)Remind them (B)to be subject to rulers, to authorities, to be obedient, to be (C)ready for every good deed, 2 to slander no one, (D)not to be contentious, to be (E)gentle, (F)showing every consideration for all people. 3 (G)For we too were once foolish, (H)disobedient, (I)deceived, (J)enslaved to (K)various lusts and pleasures, spending our life in (L)malice and (M)envy, hateful, hating one another. 4 But when the (N)kindness of (O)God our Savior and His love for mankind (P)appeared, 5 (Q)He saved us, (R)not on the basis of deeds which we did in righteousness, but (S)in accordance with His mercy, by the (T)washing of regeneration and (U)renewing by the Holy Spirit, 6 (V)whom He (W)richly poured out upon us through Jesus Christ our Savior, 7 so that being justified by His grace we would be made (X)heirs [a]according to the hope of eternal life. 8 (Y)This statement is trustworthy; and concerning these things I (Z)want you to speak confidently, so that those who have (AA)believed God will be careful to (AB)engage in good deeds. These things are good and beneficial for people. 9 But (AC)avoid (AD)foolish controversies and (AE)genealogies and strife and (AF)disputes about the Law, for they are (AG)useless and worthless. 10 (AH)Reject a [b](AI)divisive person (AJ)after a first and second warning, 11 knowing that such a person has (AK)deviated from what is right and is sinning, being self-condemned.
Personal Concerns
12 When I send Artemas or (AL)Tychicus to you, (AM)make every effort to come to me at Nicopolis, for I have decided to (AN)spend the winter there. 13 Diligently help Zenas the (AO)lawyer and (AP)Apollos on their way so that nothing is lacking for them. 14 (AQ)Our people must also learn to (AR)engage in good [c]deeds to meet (AS)pressing needs, so that they will not be (AT)unproductive.
15 (AU)All who are with me greet you. Greet those who love us (AV)in the faith.

43 (A)The next day He [a]decided to go to (B)Galilee, and He *found (C)Philip. And Jesus *said to him, “(D)Follow Me.” 44 Now (E)Philip was from (F)Bethsaida, the city of Andrew and Peter. 45 (G)Philip *found (H)Nathanael and *said to him, “We have found Him of whom (I)Moses wrote in the Law, and (J)the prophets also wrote: Jesus (K)the son of Joseph, from (L)Nazareth!” 46 Nathanael said to him, “(M)Can anything good be from Nazareth?” (N)Philip *said to him, “Come and see.” 47 Jesus saw Nathanael coming to Him, and *said of him, “Here is truly an (O)Israelite, in whom there is no deceit!” 48 Nathanael *said to Him, “How do You know me?” Jesus answered and said to him, “Before (P)Philip called you, when you were under the fig tree, I saw you.” 49 Nathanael answered Him, “(Q)Rabbi, You are (R)the Son of God; You are the (S)King of Israel!” 50 Jesus answered and said to him, “Because I said to you that I saw you under the fig tree, do you believe? You will see greater things than these.” 51 And He *said to him, “Truly, truly, I say to you, you will see (T)heaven opened and (U)the angels of God ascending and descending on (V)the Son of Man.”
