Psalm 136

Thanks for the Lords Goodness to Israel.

136 (A)Give thanks to the Lord, for (B)He is good,
For (C)His [a]faithfulness is everlasting.
Give thanks to the (D)God of gods,
For His faithfulness is everlasting.
Give thanks to the (E)Lord of lords,
For His faithfulness is everlasting.
To Him who (F)alone does great [b]wonders,
For His faithfulness is everlasting;
To Him who (G)made the heavens [c](H)with skill,
For His faithfulness is everlasting;
To Him who (I)spread out the earth above the waters,
For His faithfulness is everlasting;
To Him who (J)made the great lights,
For His faithfulness is everlasting:
The (K)sun to rule [d]by day,
For His faithfulness is everlasting,
The (L)moon and stars to rule [e]by night,
For His faithfulness is everlasting.

10 To Him who (M)struck [f]the Egyptians, that is, their firstborn,
For His faithfulness is everlasting,
11 And (N)brought Israel out from their midst,
For His faithfulness is everlasting,
12 With a (O)strong hand and an (P)outstretched arm,
For His faithfulness is everlasting.
13 To Him who (Q)divided the [g]Red Sea in parts,
For His faithfulness is everlasting,
14 And (R)allowed Israel to pass through the midst of it,
For His faithfulness is everlasting;
15 But (S)He [h]overthrew Pharaoh and his army in the [i]Red Sea,
For His faithfulness is everlasting.
16 To Him who (T)led His people through the wilderness,
For His faithfulness is everlasting;
17 To Him who (U)struck great kings,
For His faithfulness is everlasting,
18 And (V)brought death to [j]mighty kings,
For His faithfulness is everlasting:
19 (W)Sihon, king of the Amorites,
For His faithfulness is everlasting,
20 And (X)Og, king of Bashan,
For His faithfulness is everlasting,
21 And (Y)gave their land as an inheritance,
For His faithfulness is everlasting,
22 An inheritance to His (Z)servant Israel,
For His faithfulness is everlasting.

23 Who (AA)remembered us in our lowliness,
For His faithfulness is everlasting,
24 And has (AB)rescued us from our enemies,
For His faithfulness is everlasting;
25 Who (AC)gives food to all flesh,
For His faithfulness is everlasting.
26 Give thanks to the (AD)God of heaven,
For His faithfulness is everlasting.

Psalm 118

Thanksgiving for the Lords Saving Goodness.

118 (A)Give thanks to the Lord, for (B)He is good;
For His mercy is everlasting.
Let (C)Israel say,
“His mercy is everlasting.”
Oh let the (D)house of Aaron say,
“His mercy is everlasting.”
Let those (E)who [a]fear the Lord say,
“His mercy is everlasting.”

From my (F)distress I called upon [b]the Lord;
[c]The Lord answered me and (G)put me in an open space.
The Lord is (H)for me; I will (I)not fear;
(J)What can man do to me?
The Lord is for me (K)among those who help me;
Therefore I will (L)look with satisfaction on those who hate me.
It is (M)better to take refuge in the Lord
Than to trust in people.
It is (N)better to take refuge in the Lord
Than to trust in noblemen.

10 All nations (O)surrounded me;
In the name of the Lord I will certainly (P)fend them off.
11 They (Q)surrounded me, yes, they surrounded me;
In the name of the Lord I will certainly fend them off.
12 They surrounded me (R)like bees;
They were extinguished like a (S)fire of thorn bushes;
In the name of the Lord I will certainly fend them off.
13 You (T)pushed me violently so that I [d]was falling,
But the Lord (U)helped me.
14 [e](V)The Lord is my strength and song,
And He has become (W)my salvation.

15 The sound of (X)joyful shouting and salvation is in the tents of the righteous;
The (Y)right hand of the Lord performs valiantly.
16 The (Z)right hand of the Lord is exalted;
The right hand of the Lord performs valiantly.
17 I (AA)will not die, but live,
And (AB)tell of the works of [f]the Lord.
18 [g]The Lord has (AC)disciplined me severely,
But He has (AD)not turned me over to death.

19 (AE)Open the gates of righteousness to me;
I will enter through them, I will give thanks to [h]the Lord.
20 This is the gate of the Lord;
The (AF)righteous will enter through it.
21 I will give thanks to You, for You have (AG)answered me,
And You have (AH)become my salvation.

22 A (AI)stone which the builders rejected
Has become the [i]chief cornerstone.
23 This came about from the Lord;
It is marvelous in our eyes.
24 This is the day which the Lord has made;
Let’s (AJ)rejoice and be glad in it.
25 Please, O Lord, (AK)do save us;
Please, O Lord, do send (AL)prosperity!
26 (AM)Blessed is the one who comes in the name of the Lord;
We have (AN)blessed you from the house of the Lord.
27 (AO)The Lord is God, and He has given us (AP)light;
Bind the festival sacrifice [j]to the (AQ)horns of the altar with cords.
28 (AR)You are my God, and I give thanks to You;
You are my God, (AS)I exalt You.
29 (AT)Give thanks to the Lord, for He is good;
For His mercy is everlasting.

Exodus 13:1-2

13 Then the Lord spoke to Moses, saying, (A)Sanctify to Me every firstborn, the firstborn of every womb among the sons of Israel, among people and animals alike; it belongs to Me.”

Exodus 13:11-16

11 “Now when (A)the Lord brings you to the land of the Canaanite, as (B)He swore to you and to your fathers, and gives it to you, 12 (C)you shall [a]devote to the Lord every firstborn of a womb, and every firstborn offspring of an animal that you own; the males belong to the Lord. 13 But (D)every firstborn of a donkey you shall redeem with a lamb, but if you do not redeem it, then you shall break its neck; and (E)every [b]firstborn among your sons you shall redeem. 14 (F)And it shall be when your son asks you in time to come, saying, ‘What is this?’ then you shall say to him, ‘(G)With [c]a powerful hand the Lord brought us out of Egypt, from the house of [d]slavery. 15 And it came about, when Pharaoh was stubborn about letting us go, that the (H)Lord put to death every firstborn in the land of Egypt, from human firstborns to animal firstborns. Therefore, I sacrifice to the Lord the males, every firstborn of a womb, but every firstborn of my sons I redeem.’ 16 So (I)it shall [e]serve as a sign on your hand and as [f]phylacteries [g]on your forehead, for with [h]a powerful hand the Lord brought us out of Egypt.”

1 Corinthians 15:51-58

51 Behold, I am telling you a [a](A)mystery; we will not all sleep, but we will all be (B)changed, 52 in a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trumpet; for (C)the trumpet will sound, and (D)the dead will be raised [b]imperishable, and (E)we will be changed. 53 For this [c]perishable must put on [d](F)the imperishable, and this (G)mortal must put on immortality. 54 But when this [e]perishable puts on [f]the imperishable, and this mortal puts on immortality, then will come about the saying that is written: “(H)Death has been swallowed up in victory. 55 (I)Where, O Death, is your victory? Where, O Death, is your sting?” 56 The sting of (J)death is sin, and (K)the power of sin is the Law; 57 but (L)thanks be to God, who gives us the (M)victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.

58 (N)Therefore, my beloved brothers and sisters, be firm, immovable, always excelling in (O)the work of the Lord, knowing that your labor is not in vain in the Lord.

Luke 24:1-12

The Resurrection

24 (A)But on the first day of the week, at early dawn, they came to the tomb bringing the spices which they had prepared. And they found the stone rolled away from the tomb, but when they entered, they did not find the body of (B)the Lord Jesus. While they were perplexed about this, behold, (C)two men suddenly (D)stood near them in gleaming clothing; and as [a]the women were terrified and bowed their faces to the ground, the men said to them, “Why are you seeking the living One among the dead? He is not here, but He (E)has [b]risen. Remember how He spoke to you (F)while He was still in Galilee, saying that (G)the Son of Man must be handed over to sinful men, and be crucified, and on the third day rise from the dead.” And (H)they remembered His words, and returned from the tomb and reported all these things to the eleven, and to all the rest. 10 Now these women were (I)Mary Magdalene, Joanna, and Mary the mother of James; also the other women with them were telling these things to (J)the apostles. 11 But these words appeared [c]to them as nonsense, and they (K)would not believe [d]the women. 12 Nevertheless, Peter got up and (L)ran to the tomb; and when he stooped and looked in, he *saw the linen wrappings [e]only; and he went away (M)to his [f]home, marveling at what had happened.
