21st Century King James Version (KJ21)
Version
Psalm 146-147

146 Praise ye the Lord! Praise the Lord, O my soul!

While I live will I praise the Lord; I will sing praises unto my God while I have any being.

Put not your trust in princes, nor in a son of man in whom there is no help.

His breath goeth forth, he returneth to his earth; in that very day his thoughts perish.

Happy is he that hath the God of Jacob for his help, whose hope is in the Lord his God,

who made heaven and earth, the sea and all that therein is, who keepeth truth for ever;

who executeth judgment for the oppressed, who giveth food to the hungry; the Lord looseth the prisoners.

The Lord openeth the eyes of the blind; the Lord raiseth them that are bowed down; the Lord loveth the righteous.

The Lord preserveth the strangers, He relieveth the fatherless and the widow; but the way of the wicked He turneth upside down.

10 The Lord shall reign for ever, even Thy God, O Zion, unto all generations. Praise ye the Lord!

147 Praise ye the Lord! For it is good to sing praises unto our God; for it is pleasant, and praise is comely.

The Lord doth build up Jerusalem; He gathereth together the outcasts of Israel.

He healeth the broken in heart, and bindeth up their wounds.

He telleth the number of the stars; He calleth them all by their names.

Great is our Lord, and of great power; His understanding is infinite.

The Lord lifteth up the meek; He casteth the wicked down to the ground.

Sing unto the Lord with thanksgiving; sing praise upon the harp unto our God,

who covereth the heavens with clouds, who prepareth rain for the earth, who maketh grass to grow upon the mountains.

He giveth to the beast his food and to the young ravens which cry.

10 He delighteth not in the strength of the horse; He taketh not pleasure in the legs of a man.

11 The Lord taketh pleasure in them that fear Him, in those that hope in His mercy.

12 Praise the Lord, O Jerusalem! Praise thy God, O Zion!

13 For He hath strengthened the bars of thy gates; He hath blessed thy children within thee.

14 He maketh peace in thy borders, and filleth thee with the finest of the wheat.

15 He sendeth forth His commandment upon the earth; His word runneth very swiftly.

16 He giveth snow like wool; He scattereth the hoarfrost like ashes;

17 He casteth forth His ice like morsels; who can stand before His cold?

18 He sendeth out His word, and melteth them; He causeth His wind to blow, and the waters flow.

19 He showeth His word unto Jacob, His statutes and His judgments unto Israel.

20 He hath not dealt so with any nation; and as for His judgments, they have not known them. Praise ye the Lord!

Psalm 111-113

111 Praise ye the Lord! I will praise the Lord with my whole heart in the assembly of the upright and in the congregation.

The works of the Lord are great, sought out by all them that have pleasure therein.

His work is honorable and glorious, and His righteousness endureth for ever.

He hath made His wonderful works to be remembered; the Lord is gracious and full of compassion.

He hath given meat unto them that fear Him; He will ever be mindful of His covenant.

He hath shown His people the power of His works, that He may give them the heritage of the heathen.

The works of His hands are verity and judgment; all His commandments are sure.

They stand fast for ever and ever, and are done in truth and uprightness.

He sent redemption unto His people; He hath commanded His covenant for ever; holy and reverend is His name.

10 The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom; a good understanding have all they that do His commandments. His praise endureth for ever!

112 Praise ye the Lord! Blessed is the man that feareth the Lord, that delighteth greatly in His commandments.

His seed shall be mighty upon the earth; the generation of the upright shall be blessed.

Wealth and riches shall be in his house, and his righteousness endureth for ever.

Unto the upright there ariseth light in the darkness; he is gracious and full of compassion and righteous.

A good man showeth favor and lendeth; he will guide his affairs with discretion.

Surely he shall not be moved forever; the righteous shall be held in everlasting remembrance.

He shall not be afraid of evil tidings; his heart is fixed, trusting in the Lord.

His heart is established; he shall not be afraid until he sees his desires upon his enemies.

He hath dispersed, he hath given to the poor; his righteousness endureth for ever; his horn shall be exalted with honor.

10 The wicked shall see it and be grieved, he shall gnash with his teeth and melt away; the desire of the wicked shall perish.

113 Praise ye the Lord! Praise, O ye servants of the Lord; praise the name of the Lord!

Blessed be the name of the Lord from this time forth and for evermore.

From the rising of the sun unto the going down of the same, the Lord’S name is to be praised.

The Lord is high above all nations, and His glory above the heavens.

Who is like unto the Lord our God who dwelleth on high,

who humbleth Himself to behold the things that are in heaven and on the earth?

He raiseth up the poor out of the dust and lifteth the needy out of the dunghill,

that He may set him with princes, even with the princes of His people.

He maketh the barren woman to keep house, and to be a joyful mother of children. Praise ye the Lord!

1 Samuel 14:36-45

36 And Saul said, “Let us go down after the Philistines by night and despoil them until the morning light, and let us not leave a man of them.” And they said, “Do whatsoever seemeth good unto thee.” Then said the priest, “Let us draw near hither unto God.”

37 And Saul asked counsel of God: “Shall I go down after the Philistines? Wilt Thou deliver them into the hand of Israel?” But He answered him not that day.

38 And Saul said, “Draw ye near hither, all the chief of the people, and know and see wherein this sin hath been this day.

39 For, as the Lord liveth who saveth Israel, though it be in Jonathan my son, he shall surely die.” But there was not a man among all the people who answered him.

40 Then said he unto all Israel, “Be ye on one side, and I and Jonathan my son will be on the other side.” And the people said unto Saul, “Do what seemeth good unto thee.”

41 Therefore Saul said unto the Lord God of Israel, “Give a perfect lot.” And Saul and Jonathan were taken, but the people escaped.

42 And Saul said, “Cast lots between me and Jonathan my son.” And Jonathan was taken.

43 Then Saul said to Jonathan, “Tell me what thou hast done.” And Jonathan told him and said, “I did but taste a little honey with the end of the rod that was in mine hand, and lo, I must die.”

44 And Saul answered, “God do so and more also; for thou shalt surely die, Jonathan.”

45 And the people said unto Saul, “Shall Jonathan die, who hath wrought this great salvation in Israel? God forbid! As the Lord liveth, there shall not one hair of his head fall to the ground, for he hath wrought with God this day.” So the people rescued Jonathan, that he died not.

Romans 5:1-11

Therefore, being justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ,

by whom also we have access by faith into this grace wherein we stand, and rejoice in hope of the glory of God.

And not only so, but we glory in tribulations also, knowing that tribulation worketh patience;

and patience, experience; and experience, hope;

and hope maketh not ashamed, because the love of God is shed abroad in our hearts by the Holy Ghost who is given unto us.

For when we were yet without strength, in due time Christ died for the ungodly.

For scarcely will one die for a righteous man, yet perhaps for a good man some would even dare to die.

But God commendeth His love toward us in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.

Much more then, being now justified by His blood, we shall be saved from wrath through Him.

10 For if, when we were enemies, we were reconciled to God by the death of His Son, much more, being reconciled, we shall be saved by His life.

11 And not only that, but we shall also rejoice in God through our Lord Jesus Christ, by whom we have now received the atonement.

Matthew 22:1-14

22 And Jesus answered and spoke unto them again in parables and said,

“The Kingdom of Heaven is like unto a certain king, who made a marriage for his son.

And he sent forth his servants to call them that were bidden to the wedding, and they would not come.

Again he sent forth other servants, saying, ‘Tell them that are bidden, “Behold, I have prepared my dinner; my oxen and my fatlings are killed, and all things are ready. Come unto the marriage.”’

But they made light of it and went their ways, one to his farm, and another to his merchandise,

and the remnant took his servants and treated them spitefully and slew them.

But when the king heard thereof he was wroth, and he sent forth his armies and destroyed those murderers and burned up their city.

Then said he to his servants, ‘The wedding is ready, but they that were bidden were not worthy.

Go ye therefore into the highways, and as many as ye shall find, bid to the marriage.’

10 So those servants went out into the highways, and gathered all together as many as they found, both bad and good, and the wedding was furnished with guests.

11 And when the king came in to see the guests, he saw there a man who did not have on a wedding garment.

12 And he said unto him, ‘Friend, how camest thou in hither not having a wedding garment?’ And he was speechless.

13 Then said the king to the servants, ‘Bind him hand and foot and take him away, and cast him into outer darkness: there shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth.’

14 For many are called, but few are chosen.”
