66 Make a joyful noise unto God, all ye lands!
2 Sing forth the honor of His name; make His praise glorious.
3 Say unto God, “How fearsome art Thou in Thy works! Through the greatness of Thy power shall Thine enemies submit themselves unto Thee.
4 All the earth shall worship Thee and shall sing unto Thee; they shall sing to Thy name.” Selah
5 Come and see the works of God; He is fearsome in His doings toward the children of men.
6 He turned the sea into dry land, they went through the flood on foot; there did we rejoice in Him.
7 He ruleth by His power for ever, His eyes behold the nations; let not the rebellious exalt themselves. Selah
8 O bless our God, ye people; and make the voice of His praise to be heard,
9 who holdeth our soul in life and alloweth not our feet to be moved.
10 For Thou, O God, hast tried us; Thou hast tried us as silver is tried.
11 Thou broughtest us into the net; Thou laidst affliction upon our loins.
12 Thou hast caused men to ride over our heads; we went through fire and through water, but Thou broughtest us out into a fruitful place.
13 I will go into Thy house with burnt offerings; I will pay Thee my vows,
14 which my lips have uttered and my mouth hath spoken when I was in trouble.
15 I will offer unto Thee burnt sacrifices of fatlings with the incense of rams; I will offer bullocks and goats. Selah
16 Come and hear, all ye that fear God, and I will declare what He hath done for my soul.
17 I cried unto Him with my mouth, and He was extolled with my tongue.
18 If I regard iniquity in my heart, the Lord will not hear me.
19 But verily God hath heard me; He hath attended to the voice of my prayer.
20 Blessed be God, who hath not turned away my prayer, nor His mercy from me!
67 God be merciful unto us and bless us, and cause His face to shine upon us, Selah
2 that Thy way may be known upon earth, Thy saving health among all nations.
3 Let the people praise Thee, O God; let all the people praise Thee.
4 O let the nations be glad and sing for joy, for Thou shalt judge the people righteously and govern the nations upon the earth. Selah
5 Let the people praise Thee, O God; let all the people praise Thee.
6 Then shall the earth yield her increase; and God, even our own God, shall bless us.
7 God shall bless us, and all the ends of the earth shall fear Him.
19 The heavens declare the glory of God; and the firmament showeth His handiwork.
2 Day upon day uttereth speech, and night upon night showeth knowledge.
3 There is no speech nor language where their voice is not heard.
4 Their sound has gone forth through all the earth, and their words to the end of the world. In them hath He set a tabernacle for the sun,
5 which is as a bridegroom coming out of his chamber, and rejoiceth as a strong man to run a race.
6 His going forth is from the end of the heaven, and his circuit unto the ends of it; and there is nothing hid from the heat thereof.
7 The law of the Lord is perfect, converting the soul; the testimony of the Lord is sure, making wise the simple.
8 The statutes of the Lord are right, rejoicing the heart; the commandment of the Lord is pure, enlightening the eyes.
9 The fear of the Lord is clean, enduring for ever; the judgments of the Lord are true and righteous altogether.
10 More to be desired are they than gold, yea, than much fine gold; sweeter also than honey and the honeycomb.
11 Moreover by them is Thy servant warned, and in keeping of them there is great reward.
12 Who can understand his errors? Cleanse Thou me from secret faults.
13 Keep back Thy servant also from presumptuous sins; let them not have dominion over me. Then shall I be upright, and I shall be innocent of the great transgression.
14 Let the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be acceptable in Thy sight, O Lord, my Strength and my Redeemer.
46 God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble.
2 Therefore will we not fear though the earth be removed, and though the mountains be carried into the midst of the sea,
3 though the waters thereof roar and be troubled, though the mountains shake with the swelling thereof. Selah
4 There is a river, the streams whereof shall make glad the city of God, the holy place of the tabernacles of the Most High.
5 God is in the midst of her, she shall not be moved; God shall help her, and that right early.
6 The heathen raged, the kingdoms were moved; He uttered His voice, the earth melted.
7 The Lord of hosts is with us; the God of Jacob is our refuge. Selah
8 Come, behold the works of the Lord, what desolations He hath made on the earth.
9 He maketh wars to cease unto the end of the earth; He breaketh the bow and cutteth the spear in sunder; He burneth the chariot with fire.
10 Be still, and know that I am God; I will be exalted among the heathen, I will be exalted on the earth.
11 The Lord of hosts is with us; the God of Jacob is our refuge. Selah
12 And there ran a man of Benjamin from the army, and came to Shiloh the same day with his clothes rent and with earth upon his head.
13 And when he came, lo, Eli sat upon a seat by the wayside watching; for his heart trembled for the ark of God. And when the man came into the city and told it, all the city cried out.
14 And when Eli heard the noise of the crying, he said, “What meaneth the noise of this tumult?” And the man came in hastily and told Eli.
15 Now Eli was ninety and eight years old, and his eyes were dim so that he could not see.
16 And the man said unto Eli, “I am he that came from the army, and I fled today from the army.” And he said, “What is done there, my son?”
17 And the messenger answered and said, “Israel has fled before the Philistines, and there hath been also a great slaughter among the people; and thy two sons also, Hophni and Phinehas, are dead, and the ark of God is taken.”
18 And it came to pass, when he made mention of the ark of God, that he fell from off the seat backward by the side of the gate, and his neck broke and he died; for he was an old man, and heavy. And he had judged Israel forty years.
19 And his daughter-in-law, Phinehas’ wife, was with child, soon to be delivered. And when she heard the tidings that the ark of God was taken, and that her father-in-law and her husband were dead, she bowed herself and travailed, for her pains came upon her.
20 And about the time of her death the women who stood by her said unto her, “Fear not, for thou hast borne a son.” But she answered not, neither did she regard it.
21 And she named the child Ichabod [that is, Where is the glory?], saying, “The glory has departed from Israel”—because the ark of God was taken and because of her father-in-law and her husband.
22 And she said, “The glory has departed from Israel, for the ark of God is taken.”
1 James, a servant of God and of the Lord Jesus Christ, To the twelve tribes which are scattered abroad: Greetings.
2 My brethren, count it all joy when ye fall into divers temptations,
3 knowing this: that the trying of your faith worketh patience.
4 But let patience have her perfect work, that ye may be perfect and entire, lacking nothing.
5 If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, who giveth to all men liberally and upbraideth not, and it shall be given him.
6 But let him ask in faith, never wavering; for he that wavereth is like a wave of the sea, driven and tossed by the wind.
7 For let not that man think that he shall receive anything of the Lord.
8 A doubleminded man is unstable in all his ways.
9 Let the brother of low degree rejoice in that he is exalted,
10 but the rich in that he is made low, because as the flower of the grass he shall pass away.
11 For the sun is no sooner risen with a burning heat than it withereth the grass, and the flower thereof falleth, and the grace of the fashion of it perisheth. So also shall the rich man fade away in his ways.
12 Blessed is the man that endureth temptation; for when he is tried, he shall receive the crown of life which the Lord hath promised to those who love Him.
13 Let no man say when he is tempted, “I am tempted by God”; for God cannot be tempted with evil, neither tempteth He any man.
14 But every man is tempted when he is drawn away by his own lust and enticed.
15 Then when lust hath conceived, it bringeth forth sin; and sin, when it is finished, bringeth forth death.
16 Do not err, my beloved brethren.
17 Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and cometh down from the Father of lights, with whom is no variableness, neither shadow of turning.
18 Of His own will, He begot us by the word of truth, that we should be a kind of firstfruits of His creatures.
23 Then said Jesus unto His disciples, “Verily I say unto you, that a rich man shall hardly enter into the Kingdom of Heaven.
24 And again I say unto you, it is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle, than for a rich man to enter into the Kingdom of God.”
25 When His disciples heard it, they were exceedingly amazed, saying, “Who then can be saved?”
26 But Jesus beheld them and said unto them, “With men this is impossible, but with God all things are possible.”
27 Then Peter answered and said unto Him, “Behold, we have forsaken all and followed Thee. What shall we have therefore?”
28 And Jesus said unto them, “Verily I say unto you, that ye that have followed Me, in the regeneration when the Son of Man shall sit on the throne of His glory, ye also shall sit upon twelve thrones, judging the twelve tribes of Israel.
29 And everyone that hath forsaken houses or brethren or sisters or father or mother or wife or children or lands, for My name’s sake, shall receive a hundredfold and shall inherit everlasting life.
30 But many that are first shall be last, and the last shall be first.
