I Wrote These Things That You May Know You Have Eternal Life

13 I wrote these[a] things to you, the ones believing in the name of the Son of God, in order that you may know that you have eternal life.

And This We Know With Confidence:

14 And this is the confidence which we have before Him:

That God Hears Our Prayers

... that if we request anything according to His will, He hears us. 15 And if we know that He hears us— whatever we request— we know that we have the requests which we have requested from Him.

But I Am Not Implying You Should Pray About a Sin Leading To Death

16 If anyone sees his brother sinning a sin not leading to death, he shall request, and He will give him life— for the ones sinning a sin not leading to death. There is a sin leading to death[b]. I am not saying that he should pray about that. 17 All unrighteousness is sin, and there is sin not leading to death.

That God’s Children Are Not Sinning, And Are Protected From Satan

18 We know that everyone having been born[c] from God is not sinning[d]. But the One[e] having been fathered from God is keeping[f] him. And the evil one is not touching[g] him.

That We Are Born From God

19 We know that we are from God, and the whole world lies in[h] the evil one.

That We Know The True God And Have Eternal Life In Him

20 And we know that the Son of God has come, and has given us understanding in order that we might know the true[i] One. And we are in[j] the true One, in His Son Jesus Christ. This One[k] is the true God and eternal life. 21 Little-children, guard yourselves from idols!

Luke 5:1-11

And it came about during the crowd’s pressing-upon Him and listening-to the word of God that He was standing beside the lake of Gennesaret[a]. And He saw two boats standing beside the lake. And the fishermen, having gotten-out of them, were washing their nets. And having gotten into one of the boats, which was Simon’s, He asked him to put-out a little from the land. And having sat-down, He was teaching the crowds from the boat.

Jesus Brings Simon a Great Catch of Fish. Now You Will Be Catching People

And when He ceased speaking, He said to Simon, “Put-out into the deep [water] and lower[b] your nets for a catch”. And having responded, Simon said, “Master, having labored through the whole night, we took nothing. But at[c] Your word, I will lower the nets. And having done this, they enclosed a large number of fish. And their nets were being torn. And they signaled to their companions in the other boat that having come, they might help them. And they came. And they filled both the boats so that they were sinking. And having seen it, Simon Peter fell at the knees of Jesus, saying, “Depart from me, because I am a sinful man, Master”. For astonishment at the catch of fish which they took seized him, and all the ones with him. 10 And likewise also James and John, sons of Zebedee, who were partners with Simon. And Jesus said to Simon, “Do not be fearing. From now on you will be catching[d] people!” 11 And having brought their boats on land, having left everything, they followed Him.
