21st Century King James Version (KJ21)
Version
Psalm 148-150

148 Praise ye the Lord! Praise ye the Lord from the heavens; praise Him in the heights!

Praise ye Him, all His angels; praise ye Him, all His hosts!

Praise ye Him, sun and moon; praise Him, all ye stars of light!

Praise Him, ye heavens of heavens, and ye waters that be above the heavens!

Let them praise the name of the Lord, for He commanded and they were created.

He hath also established them for ever and ever; He hath made a decree which shall not pass.

Praise the Lord from the earth, ye dragons and all deeps,

fire and hail, snow and vapors, stormy wind fulfilling His word,

mountains and all hills, fruitful trees and all cedars,

10 beasts and all cattle, creeping things and flying fowl,

11 kings of the earth and all people, princes and all judges of the earth,

12 both young men and maidens, old men and children.

13 Let them praise the name of the Lord, for His name alone is excellent; His glory is above the earth and heaven.

14 He also exalteth the horn of His people, the praise of all His saints, even of the children of Israel, a people near unto Him. Praise ye the Lord!

149 Praise ye the Lord! Sing unto the Lord a new song, and His praise in the congregation of saints!

Let Israel rejoice in Him that made him; let the children of Zion be joyful in their King.

Let them praise His name in the dance; let them sing praises unto Him with the timbrel and harp.

For the Lord taketh pleasure in His people; He will beautify the meek with salvation.

Let the saints be joyful in glory; let them sing aloud upon their beds.

Let the high praises of God be in their mouth, and a two-edged sword in their hand

to execute vengeance upon the heathen, and punishments upon the people;

to bind their kings with chains, and their nobles with fetters of iron;

to execute upon them the judgment written: this honor have all His saints. Praise ye the Lord!

150 Praise ye the Lord! Praise God in His sanctuary; praise Him in the firmament of His power!

Praise Him for His mighty acts; praise Him according to His excellent greatness!

Praise Him with the sound of the trumpet; praise Him with the psaltery and harp!

Praise Him with the timbrel and dance; praise Him with stringed instruments and organs!

Praise Him upon the loud cymbals; praise Him upon the high sounding cymbals!

Let everything that hath breath praise the Lord! Praise ye the Lord!

Psalm 114-115

114 When Israel went out of Egypt, the house of Jacob from a people of a strange language,

Judah was His sanctuary, and Israel His dominion.

The sea saw it, and fled; Jordan was driven back.

The mountains skipped like rams, and the little hills like lambs.

What ailed thee, O thou sea, that thou fleddest? Thou Jordan, that thou wast driven back?

Ye mountains, that ye skipped like rams, and ye little hills, like lambs?

Tremble, thou earth, at the presence of the Lord, at the presence of the God of Jacob,

who turned the rock into a standing water, the flint into a fountain of waters.

115 Not unto us, O Lord, not unto us, but unto Thy name give glory, for Thy mercy and for Thy truth’s sake.

Why should the heathen say, “Where now is their God?”

But our God is in the heavens; He hath done whatsoever He hath pleased.

Their idols are silver and gold, the work of men’s hands.

They have mouths, but they speak not; eyes have they, but they see not.

They have ears, but they hear not; noses have they, but they smell not.

They have hands, but they handle not; feet have they, but they walk not; neither speak they through their throat.

They that make them are like unto them; so is everyone that trusteth in them.

O Israel, trust thou in the Lord: He is their help and their shield.

10 O house of Aaron, trust in the Lord: He is their help and their shield.

11 Ye that fear the Lord, trust in the Lord: He is their help and their shield.

12 The Lord hath been mindful of us; He will bless us; He will bless the house of Israel; He will bless the house of Aaron.

13 He will bless them that fear the Lord, both small and great.

14 The Lord shall increase you more and more, you and your children.

15 Ye are blessed by the Lord who made heaven and earth.

16 The heaven, even the heavens, are the Lord’s; but the earth hath He given to the children of men.

17 The dead praise not the Lord, neither do any that go down into silence.

18 But we will bless the Lord from this time forth and for evermore. Praise the Lord!

Isaiah 5:1-7

Now will I sing to my Well-beloved a song of my Beloved concerning His vineyard: my Well-beloved hath a vineyard on a very fruitful hill.

And He fenced it, and gathered out the stones thereof, and planted it with the choicest vine; and built a tower in the midst of it, and also made a wine press therein. And He looked for it to bring forth grapes, and it brought forth wild grapes.

“And now, O inhabitants of Jerusalem and men of Judah, judge, I pray you, between Me and My vineyard.

What could have been done more to My vineyard than I have not done in it? Why, when I looked for it to bring forth good grapes, brought it forth wild grapes?

“And now, I will tell you what I will do to My vineyard: I will take away the hedge thereof, and it shall be eaten up; and break down the wall thereof, and it shall be trodden down.

And I will lay it waste; it shall not be pruned nor dug, but there shall come up briers and thorns. I will also command the clouds that they rain no rain upon it.”

For the vineyard of the Lord of hosts is the house of Israel, and the men of Judah, His pleasant plant. And He looked for judgment, but behold, oppression; for righteousness, but behold, a cry.

2 Peter 3:11-18

11 Seeing then that all these things shall be dissolved, what manner of persons ought ye to be in all holy manner of living and godliness,

12 looking for and hastening unto the coming of the Day of God, wherein the heavens, being on fire, shall be dissolved and the elements shall melt with fervent heat?

13 Nevertheless we, according to His promise, look for new heavens and a new earth, wherein dwelleth righteousness.

14 Therefore, beloved, seeing that ye look for such things, be diligent that ye may be found by Him in peace, without spot and blameless.

15 And account that the longsuffering of our Lord is salvation, even as our beloved brother Paul also, according to the wisdom given unto him, hath written unto you,

16 as also in all his epistles, speaking in them of these things. Therein are some things hard to understand, which those who are unlearned and unstable wrest, as they do also the other Scriptures, unto their own destruction.

17 Ye therefore, beloved, seeing that ye know these things beforehand, beware lest ye also, being led away with the error of the wicked, fall from your own steadfastness.

18 But grow in grace and in the knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. To Him be glory both now and for ever. Amen.

Luke 7:28-35

28 For I say unto you, among those that are born of women, there is not a greater prophet than John the Baptist; but he that is least in the Kingdom of God is greater than he.”

29 And all the people that heard Him, and the publicans, justified God, being baptized with the baptism of John.

30 But the Pharisees and lawyers rejected the counsel of God against themselves, being not baptized by him.

31 And the Lord said, “Whereunto then shall I liken the men of this generation? And to what are they like?

32 They are like unto children sitting in the marketplace, and calling one to another and saying, ‘We have piped unto you, and ye have not danced; we have mourned to you, and ye have not wept.’

33 For John the Baptist came neither eating bread nor drinking wine, and ye say, ‘He hath a devil.’

34 The Son of Man is come eating and drinking, and ye say, ‘Behold, a gluttonous man and a winebibber, a friend of publicans and sinners!’

35 But wisdom is justified by all her children.”
