50 The Mighty God, even the Lord, hath spoken and called the earth from the rising of the sun unto the going down thereof.
2 Out of Zion, the perfection of beauty, God hath shined.
3 Our God shall come and shall not keep silence; a devouring fire shall go before Him, and it shall be very tempestuous round about Him.
4 He shall call to the heavens from above and to the earth, that He may judge His people:
5 “Gather My saints together unto Me, those that have made a covenant with Me by sacrifice.”
6 And the heavens shall declare His righteousness, for God Himself is judge. Selah
7 “Hear, O My people, and I will speak, O Israel, and I will testify against thee: I am God, even thy God.
8 I will not reprove thee for thy sacrifices or thy burnt offerings, to have been continually before Me.
9 I will take no bullock out of thy house, nor hegoats out of thy folds.
10 For every beast of the forest is Mine and the cattle upon a thousand hills.
11 I know all the fowls of the mountains, and the wild beasts of the field are Mine.
12 If I were hungry I would not tell thee, for the world is Mine and the fullness thereof.
13 Will I eat the flesh of bulls, or drink the blood of goats?
14 “Offer unto God thanksgiving, and pay thy vows unto the Most High,
15 and call upon Me in the day of trouble; I will deliver thee, and thou shalt glorify Me.”
16 But unto the wicked God saith: “What hast thou to do to declare My statutes, or that thou shouldest take My covenant in thy mouth,
17 seeing thou hatest instruction and castest My words behind thee?
18 When thou sawest a thief, then thou consented with him, and thou hast been partaker with adulterers.
19 Thou givest thy mouth to evil, and thy tongue frameth deceit.
20 Thou sittest and speakest against thy brother; thou slanderest thine own mother’s son.
21 These things hast thou done, and I kept silence; thou thoughtest that I was altogether such a one as thyself. But I will reprove thee and set them in order before thine eyes.
22 “Now consider this, ye that forget God, lest I tear you in pieces and there be none to deliver:
23 Whoso offereth praise glorifieth Me; and to him that ordereth his manner of living aright, I will show the salvation of God.”
59 Deliver me from mine enemies, O my God; defend me from them that rise up against me.
2 Deliver me from the workers of iniquity, and save me from bloody men.
3 For lo, they lie in wait for my soul; the mighty are gathered against me, not for my transgression, nor for my sin, O Lord.
4 They run and prepare themselves though I am not at fault. Awake to help me, and behold!
5 Thou therefore, O Lord God of hosts, the God of Israel, awake to visit all the heathen; be not merciful to any wicked transgressors. Selah
6 They return at evening; they make a noise like a dog and go round about the city.
7 Behold, they belch out with their mouth; swords are in their lips; “For who,” say they, “doth hear?”
8 But Thou, O Lord, shalt laugh at them; Thou shalt hold all the heathen in derision.
9 Because of his strength, I will wait upon Thee; for God is my defense.
10 The God of my mercy shall go before me; God shall let me see my desire upon mine enemies.
11 Slay them not, lest my people forget; scatter them by Thy power and bring them down, O Lord our shield.
12 For the sin of their mouth and the words of their lips, let them even be taken in their pride, and for the cursing and lying which they speak.
13 Consume them in wrath, consume them, that they may not be; and let them know that God ruleth in Jacob unto the ends of the earth. Selah
14 And at evening let them return, and let them make a noise like a dog and go round about the city.
15 Let them wander up and down for meat, and grumble if they be not satisfied.
16 But I will sing of Thy power, yea, I will sing aloud of Thy mercy in the morning; for Thou hast been my defense and refuge in the day of my trouble.
17 Unto Thee, O my Strength, will I sing; for God is my defense, and the God of my mercy.
60 O God, Thou hast cast us off, Thou hast scattered us, Thou hast been displeased; O, turn Thyself to us again!
2 Thou hast made the earth to tremble, Thou hast broken it; heal the breaches thereof, for it shaketh.
3 Thou hast shown Thy people hard things; Thou hast made us to drink the wine of astonishment.
4 Thou hast given a banner to them that fear Thee, that it may be displayed because of the truth. Selah
5 That Thy beloved may be delivered, save with Thy right hand and hear me!
6 God hath spoken in His holiness: “I will rejoice; I will divide Shechem and portion out the Valley of Succoth.
7 Gilead is Mine, and Manasseh is Mine; Ephraim also is the strength of Mine head; Judah is My lawgiver.
8 Moab is My washpot; over Edom will I cast out My shoe; Philistia, triumph thou because of Me.”
9 Who will bring me into the stronghold city? Who will lead me into Edom?
10 Will not Thou, O God, who hadst cast us off, and Thou, O God, who didst not go out with our armies?
11 Give us help from trouble, for vain is the help of man.
12 Through God we shall do valiantly, for He it is that shall tread down our enemies.
93 The Lord reigneth; He is clothed with majesty. The Lord is clothed with strength, wherewith He hath girded Himself. The world also is established, that it cannot be moved.
2 Thy throne is established of old; Thou art from everlasting.
3 The floods have lifted up, O Lord, the floods have lifted up their voice; the floods lift up their waves.
4 The Lord on high is mightier than the noise of many waters, yea, than the mighty waves of the sea.
5 Thy testimonies are very sure; holiness becometh Thine house, O Lord, for ever.
96 O sing unto the Lord a new song; sing unto the Lord, all the earth.
2 Sing unto the Lord, bless His name; show forth His salvation from day to day.
3 Declare His glory among the heathen, His wonders among all people.
4 For the Lord is great and greatly to be praised; He is to be feared above all gods.
5 For all the gods of the nations are idols, but the Lord made the heavens.
6 Honor and majesty are before Him; strength and beauty are in His sanctuary.
7 Give unto the Lord, O ye kindreds of the people; give unto the Lord glory and strength.
8 Give unto the Lord the glory due unto His name; bring an offering, and come into His courts.
9 O worship the Lord in the beauty of holiness; fear before Him, all the earth.
10 Say among the heathen that the Lord reigneth; the world also shall be established, that it shall not be moved; He shall judge the people righteously.
11 Let the heavens rejoice, and let the earth be glad; let the sea roar, and the fullness thereof.
12 Let the field be joyful, and all that is therein; then shall all the trees of the wood rejoice
13 before the Lord. For He cometh, for He cometh to judge the earth; He shall judge the world with righteousness, and the people with His truth.
29 Moreover Job continued his parable and said:
31 “I made a covenant with mine eyes. Why then should I think upon a maid?
2 For what portion from God is there from above, and what inheritance of the Almighty from on high?
3 Is not destruction for the wicked, and a strange punishment for the workers of iniquity?
4 Doth not He see my ways, and count all my steps?
5 If I have walked with vanity, or if my foot hath hastened to deceit,
6 let me be weighed in an even balance, that God may know mine integrity.
7 If my step hath turned out of the way, and mine heart walked after mine eyes, and if any blot hath cleaved to mine hands,
8 then let me sow and let another eat; yea, let my offspring be rooted out.
9 “If mine heart has been deceived by a woman, or if I have laid wait at my neighbor’s door,
10 then let my wife grind for another, and let others bow down upon her.
11 For this is a heinous crime; yea, it is an iniquity to be punished by the judges.
12 For it is a fire that consumeth to destruction, and would root out all mine increase.
13 “If I have despised the cause of my manservant or of my maidservant when they contended with me,
14 what then shall I do when God riseth up? And when He visiteth, what shall I answer Him?
15 Did not He that made me in the womb make him? And did not One fashion us in the womb?
16 “If I have withheld the poor from their desire, or have caused the eyes of the widow to fail;
17 or have eaten my morsel myself alone, and the fatherless hath not eaten thereof
18 (for from my youth he was brought up with me as with a father, and I have guided her from my mother’s womb);
19 if I have seen any perish for want of clothing, or any poor without covering;
20 if his loins have not blessed me, and if he were not warmed with the fleece of my sheep;
21 if I have lifted up my hand against the fatherless, when I saw my help in the gate”
22 then let mine arm fall from my shoulder blade, and mine arm be broken from the bone.
23 For destruction from God was a terror to me, and by reason of His highness I could not endure.
15 And certain men who came down from Judea taught the brethren and said, “Unless ye be circumcised after the manner of Moses, ye cannot be saved.”
2 When therefore Paul and Barnabas had no small dissension and disputation with them, they determined that Paul and Barnabas and certain others of them should go up to Jerusalem unto the apostles and elders about this question.
3 And being sent on their way by the church, they passed through Phoenicia and Samaria, declaring the conversion of the Gentiles; and they caused great joy unto all the brethren.
4 And when they had come to Jerusalem, they were received by the church and by the apostles and elders, and they declared all things that God had done with them.
5 But there rose up certain of the sect of the Pharisees who believed, saying that it was needful to circumcise them, and to command them to keep the Law of Moses.
6 And the apostles and the elders came together to consider this matter.
7 And when there had been much disputing, Peter rose up and said unto them, “Men and brethren, ye know how that a good while ago God made choice among us, that the Gentiles by my mouth should hear the Word of the Gospel and believe.
8 And God, who knoweth the hearts, bore them witness, giving them the Holy Ghost even as He did unto us,
9 and put no difference between us and them, purifying their hearts by faith.
10 Now therefore why tempt ye God to put a yoke upon the necks of the disciples, which neither our fathers nor we were able to bear?
11 But we believe that through the grace of the Lord Jesus Christ we shall be saved, even as they.”
17 Then when Jesus came, He found that he had lain in the grave four days already.
18 Now Bethany was nigh unto Jerusalem, about two miles away,
19 and many of the Jews came to Martha and Mary to comfort them concerning their brother.
20 Then Martha, as soon as she heard that Jesus was coming, went and met Him; but Mary sat still in the house.
21 Then Martha said unto Jesus, “Lord, if Thou hadst been here, my brother would not have died.
22 But I know that even now, whatsoever Thou wilt ask of God, God will give it Thee.”
23 Jesus said unto her, “Thy brother shall rise again.”
24 Martha said unto Him, “I know that he shall rise again at the resurrection on the Last Day.”
25 Jesus said unto her, “I am the resurrection and the Life. He that believeth in Me, though he were dead, yet shall he live;
26 and whosoever liveth and believeth in Me shall never die. Believest thou this?”
27 She said unto Him, “Yea, Lord, I believe that Thou art the Christ, the Son of God, who should come into the world.”
28 And when she had so said, she went her way and called Mary her sister secretly, saying, “The Master has come, and calleth for thee.”
29 As soon as she heard that, she arose quickly and came unto Him.
