21st Century King James Version (KJ21)
Version
Psalm 107:33-108:13

33 He turneth rivers into a wilderness and the watersprings into dry ground,

34 a fruitful land into barrenness for the wickedness of them that dwell therein.

35 He turneth the wilderness into a standing water and dry ground into watersprings;

36 and there He maketh the hungry to dwell, that they may prepare a city for habitation,

37 and sow the fields and plant vineyards, which may yield fruitful increase.

38 He blesseth them also so that they are multiplied greatly, and alloweth not their cattle to decrease.

39 Again, they are diminished and brought low through oppression, affliction, and sorrow.

40 He poureth contempt upon princes, and causeth them to wander in the wilderness where there is no way.

41 Yet setteth He the poor on high from affliction, and maketh their families like a flock.

42 The righteous shall see it and rejoice, and all iniquity shall stop her mouth.

43 Whoso is wise and will observe these things, even they shall understand the lovingkindness of the Lord.

108 O God, my heart is fixed; I will sing and give praise, even with my inmost being.

Awake, psaltery and harp! I myself will awake early.

I will praise Thee, O Lord, among the people, and I will sing praises unto Thee among the nations.

For Thy mercy is great above the heavens, and Thy truth reacheth unto the clouds.

Be Thou exalted, O God, above the heavens, and Thy glory above all the earth.

That Thy beloved may be delivered, save with Thy right hand, and answer me.

God hath spoken in His holiness: “I will rejoice; I will divide Shechem, and mete out the Valley of Succoth.

Gilead is Mine; Manasseh is Mine; Ephraim also is the strength of Mine head; Judah is My lawgiver.

Moab is My washpot; over Edom will I cast My shoe; over Philistia will I triumph.”

10 Who will bring me into the stronghold city? Who will lead me into Edom?

11 Wilt not Thou, O God, who hast cast us off? And wilt not Thou, O God, go forth with our hosts?

12 Give us help from trouble, for vain is the help of man.

13 Through God we shall do valiantly, for He it is that shall tread down our enemies.

Psalm 33

33 Rejoice in the Lord, O ye righteous! For praise is comely for the upright.

Praise the Lord with the harp; sing unto Him with the psaltery and an instrument of ten strings.

Sing unto Him a new song; play skillfully with a loud noise.

For the word of the Lord is right, and all His works are done in truth.

He loveth righteousness and judgment; the earth is full of the goodness of the Lord.

By the word of the Lord were the heavens made, and all the host of them by the breath of His mouth.

He gathereth the waters of the sea together as a heap; He layeth up the deep in storehouses.

Let all the earth fear the Lord; let all the inhabitants of the world stand in awe of Him.

For He spoke, and it was done; He commanded, and it stood fast.

10 The Lord bringeth the counsel of the heathen to nought; He maketh the devices of the people of no effect.

11 The counsel of the Lord standeth for ever, the thoughts of His heart to all generations.

12 Blessed is the nation whose God is the Lord, and the people whom He hath chosen for His own inheritance.

13 The Lord looketh down from heaven; He beholdeth all of the sons of men.

14 From the place of His habitation He looketh upon all the inhabitants of the earth;

15 He fashioneth the hearts of all; He considereth all their works.

16 No king is saved by the multitude of an army; a mighty man is not delivered by much strength.

17 A horse is a vain thing for safety; neither shall he deliver any by his great strength.

18 Behold, the eye of the Lord is upon them that fear Him, upon them that hope in His mercy,

19 to deliver their soul from death, and to keep them alive in famine.

20 Our soul waiteth for the Lord; He is our help and our shield.

21 For our heart shall rejoice in Him, because we have trusted in His holy name.

22 Let Thy mercy, O Lord, be upon us, according as we hope in Thee.

2 Samuel 16

16 And when David was a little past the top of the hill, behold, Ziba the servant of Mephibosheth met him with a couple of asses saddled, and upon them two hundred loaves of bread, and a hundred bunches of raisins, and a hundred of summer fruits, and a bottle of wine.

And the king said unto Ziba, “What meanest thou by these?” And Ziba said, “The asses are for the king’s household to ride on, and the bread and summer fruit for the young men to eat, and the wine, that such as be faint in the wilderness may drink.”

And the king said, “And where is thy master’s son?” And Ziba said unto the king, “Behold, he abideth at Jerusalem; for he said, ‘Today shall the house of Israel restore to me the kingdom of my father.’”

Then said the king to Ziba, “Behold, thine are all that pertained unto Mephibosheth.” And Ziba said, “I humbly beseech thee that I may find grace in thy sight, my lord, O king.”

And when King David came to Bahurim, behold, thence came out a man of the family of the house of Saul, whose name was Shimei, the son of Gera; he came forth, and cursed constantly as he came.

And he cast stones at David and at all the servants of King David; and all the people and all the mighty men were on his right hand and on his left.

And thus said Shimei when he cursed, “Come out, come out, thou bloody man and thou man of Belial!

The Lord hath returned upon thee all the blood of the house of Saul, in whose stead thou hast reigned; and the Lord hath delivered the kingdom into the hand of Absalom thy son. And behold, thou art taken in thy mischief, because thou art a bloody man.”

Then said Abishai the son of Zeruiah unto the king, “Why should this dead dog curse my lord the king? Let me go over, I pray thee, and take off his head.”

10 And the king said, “What have I to do with you, ye sons of Zeruiah? So let him curse, because the Lord hath said unto him, ‘Curse David.’ Who shall then say, ‘Why hast thou done so?’”

11 And David said to Abishai and to all his servants, “Behold, my son, who came forth from my loins, seeketh my life. How much more now may this Benjamite do it? Let him alone and let him curse, for the Lord hath bidden him.

12 It may be that the Lord will look on mine affliction, and that the Lord will requite me good for his cursing this day.”

13 And as David and his men went by the way, Shimei went along on the hillside opposite him and cursed as he went and threw stones at him and cast dust.

14 And the king and all the people who were with him became weary and refreshed themselves there.

15 And Absalom and all the people, the men of Israel, came to Jerusalem, and Ahithophel with him.

16 And it came to pass, when Hushai the Archite, David’s friend, had come unto Absalom, that Hushai said unto Absalom, “God save the king! God save the king!”

17 And Absalom said to Hushai, “Is this thy kindness to thy friend? Why wentest thou not with thy friend?”

18 And Hushai said unto Absalom, “Nay; but whom the Lord and this people and all the men of Israel choose, his will I be, and with him will I abide.

19 And again, whom should I serve? Should I not serve in the presence of his son? As I have served in thy father’s presence, so will I be in thy presence.”

20 Then said Absalom to Ahithophel, “Give counsel among you what we shall do.”

21 And Ahithophel said unto Absalom, “Go in unto thy father’s concubines, whom he hath left to keep the house; and all Israel shall hear that thou art abhorred by thy father. Then shall the hands of all who are with thee be strong.”

22 So they spread Absalom a tent upon the top of the house, and Absalom went in unto his father’s concubines in the sight of all Israel.

23 And the counsel of Ahithophel, which he counseled in those days, was as if a man had inquired at the oracle of God; so was all the counsel of Ahithophel both with David and with Absalom.

Acts 22:17-29

17 “And it came to pass that when I had come again to Jerusalem, even while I prayed in the temple, I was in a trance

18 and saw Him saying unto me, ‘Make haste and get thee quickly out of Jerusalem, for they will not receive thy testimony concerning Me.’

19 And I said, ‘Lord, they know that I imprisoned and beat in every synagogue those who believed in Thee.

20 And when the blood of Thy martyr Stephen was shed, I also was standing by and consenting unto his death and kept the raiment of those who slew him.’

21 And He said unto me, ‘Depart, for I will send thee far hence, unto the Gentiles.’”

22 And the crowd gave him an audience up to this word; and then they lifted up their voices and said, “Away with such a fellow from the earth, for it is not fit that he should live!”

23 And as they cried out and cast off their clothes and threw dust into the air,

24 the chief captain commanded him to be brought into the castle, and bade that he should be examined by scourging, so that he might find out why they cried so against him.

25 And as they bound him with thongs, Paul said unto the centurion who stood by, “Is it lawful for you to scourge a man who is a Roman and uncondemned?”

26 When the centurion heard this, he went and told the chief captain, saying, “Take heed what thou doest, for this man is a Roman.”

27 Then the chief captain came and said unto him, “Tell me, art thou a Roman?” And he said, “Yea.”

28 And the chief captain answered, “With a great sum I obtained this freedom.” And Paul said, “But I was free born.”

29 Then straightway those who should have examined him departed from him, and the chief captain also was afraid after he found out that he was a Roman, and because he had bound him.

Mark 11:1-11

11 And when they came nigh to Jerusalem, unto Bethphage and Bethany at the Mount of Olives, He sent forth two of His disciples

and said unto them, “Go your way into the village opposite you, and as soon as ye have entered into it, ye shall find a colt tied, whereon man never sat. Loose him and bring him.

And if any man say unto you, ‘Why do ye this?’ say ye that the Lord hath need of him, and straightway he will send him hither.”

And they went their way and found the colt tied outside by the door at a place where two ways met, and they loosed him.

And certain of those who stood there said unto them, “What do ye, loosing the colt?”

And they said unto them even as Jesus had commanded, and they let them go.

And they brought the colt to Jesus and cast their garments on him, and He sat upon him.

And many spread their garments upon the way, and others cut down branches off the trees and strewed them upon the way.

And those who went before, and those who followed, cried, saying, “Hosanna! Blessed is He that cometh in the name of the Lord!

10 Blessed be the kingdom of our father David, that cometh in the name of the Lord! Hosanna in the highest!”

11 And Jesus entered into Jerusalem and into the temple. And when He had looked round about upon all things, as now the eventide had come, He went out unto Bethany with the twelve.
