Psalm 72

72 1 He prayeth for the prosperous estate of the kingdom of Solomon, who was the figure of Christ, 4 under whom shall be righteousness, peace, and felicity. 10 Unto whom all Kings and nations shall do homage, 17 Whose name and power shall endure forever, and in whom all nations shall be blessed.

A Psalm [a]of Solomon.

Give thy [b]judgments to the King, O God, and thy righteousness to the King’s [c]son.

Then shall he judge thy people in righteousness, and thy poor with equity.

The [d]mountains, and the hills shall bring peace to the people by justice.

He shall [e]judge the poor of the people: he shall save the children of the needy, and shall subdue the oppressor.

They shall [f]fear thee as long as the sun and moon endureth, from generation to generation.

He shall come [g]down like the rain upon the mown grass, and as the showers that water the earth.

In his days shall the righteous flourish, and abundance of peace shall be so long as the moon endureth.

His dominion shall be also from [h]sea to sea, and from the river unto the ends of the land.

They that dwell in the wilderness, shall kneel before him, and his enemies shall lick the dust.

10 The kings of [i]Tarshish and of the isles shall bring presents: the kings [j]of Sheba and Seba shall bring gifts.

11 Yea, all kings shall worship him: all nations shall serve him.

12 For he shall deliver the poor when he crieth: the needy also, and him that hath no helper.

13 He shall be merciful to the poor and needy, and shall preserve the souls of the poor.

14 He shall redeem their souls from deceit and violence, and [k]dear shall their blood be in his sight.

15 Yea, he shall live, and unto him shall they give of the [l]gold of Sheba: they shall also pray for him continually, and daily bless him.

16 An handful of corn shall be sown in the earth, even in the top of the mountains, and the [m]fruit thereof shalt shake like the trees of Lebanon: and the children shall flourish out of the city like the grass of the earth.

17 His name shall be forever: his name shall endure as long as the Sun: all nations shall bless [n]him, and be blessed in him.

18 Blessed be the Lord God, even the God of Israel which only doeth [o]wondrous things.

19 And blessed be his glorious Name forever: and let all the earth be filled with his glory. So be it, even so be it.

[20] Here end the [p]prayers of David the son of Jesse.

Psalm 119:73-96

JOD

73 Thine hands have [a]made me and fashioned me: give me understanding therefore, that I may learn thy commandments.

74 So they that [b]fear thee, seeing me, shall rejoice, because I have trusted in thy word.

75 I know, O Lord, that thy judgments are right, and that thou hast afflicted me [c]justly.

76 I pray thee that thy mercy may comfort me, according to thy promise unto thy servant.

77 Let thy tender mercies come unto me, that I may [d]live: for thy Law is my delight.

78 Let the proud be ashamed: for they have dealt wickedly and falsely with me: but I meditate in thy precepts.

79 Let such as fear thee [e]turn unto me, and they that [f]know thy testimonies.

80 Let mine heart be upright in thy statutes, that I be not ashamed.

CAPH

81 My soul [g]fainted for thy salvation: yet I wait for thy word.

82 Mine eyes fail for thy promise, saying, When wilt thou comfort me?

83 For I am like a [h]bottle in the smoke; yet do I not forget thy statutes.

84 How many are the [i]days of thy servant? When wilt thou execute judgment on them that persecute me?

85 The proud have [j]dug pits for me, which is not after thy Law.

86 All thy commandments are true: they persecute me falsely: [k]help me.

87 They had almost consumed [l]me upon the earth: but I forsook not thy precepts.

88 Quicken me according to thy loving kindness: so shall I keep the testimony of thy mouth.

LAMED

89 O Lord, thy word endureth forever in [m]heaven.

90 Thy truth is from generation to generation: thou hast laid the foundation of the earth, and it abideth.

91 They [n]continue even to this day by thine ordinances: for all are thy servants.

92 Except thy law had been my delight, I should now have perished in mine affliction.

93 I will never forget thy precepts: for by them thou hast quickened me.

94 I am [o]thine, save me: for I have sought thy precepts.

95 The wicked have waited for me to destroy me: but I will consider thy testimonies.

96 I [p]have seen an end of all perfection: but thy commandment is exceeding large.

Deuteronomy 31:30-32:14

30 Thus Moses spake in the audience of all the Congregation of Israel the words of this song, until he had ended them.

32 The song of Moses containing 7 God’s benefits toward the people, 15 and their ingratitude toward him. 20 God menaceth them, 21 and speaketh of the vocation of the Gentiles. 46 Moses commandeth to teach the Law to the children. 49 God forewarneth Moses of his death.

Hearken, ye [a]heavens, and I will speak: and let the earth hear the words of my mouth.

My [b]doctrine shall drop as the rain, and my speech shall still as the dew, as the shower upon the herbs, and as the great rain upon the grass.

For I will publish the Name of the Lord: give ye glory unto our God.

Perfect is the work of the [c]mighty God: for all his ways are judgment. God is true, and without wickedness: just and righteous is he.

They have corrupted themselves toward him by their vice, not being his children, but a froward and crooked generation.

Do ye so reward the Lord, O foolish people and unwise? is not he thy father, that hath bought thee? he hath [d]made thee, and proportioned thee.

¶ Remember the days of old: consider the years of so many generations: ask thy father, and he will show thee: thine Elders, and they will tell thee.

When the most high God divided to the nations their inheritance, when he separated the sons of Adam, he appointed the borders of the [e]people, according to the number of the children of Israel.

For the Lord’s portion is his people: Jacob is the lot of his inheritance.

10 He found him in the land of the wilderness, in a waste and roaring wilderness: he led him about, he taught him, and kept him as the apple of his eye.

11 As an eagle stirreth up her nest, [f]fluttereth over her birds, stretcheth out her wings, taketh them and beareth them on her wings,

12 So the Lord alone led him, and there was no [g]strange god with him.

13 He carried him up to the high places of the [h]earth, that he might eat the fruits of the fields, and he caused him to suck [i]honey out of the stone, and oil out of the hard rock:

14 Butter of kine, and milk of sheep with fat of the lambs, and rams fed in Bashan, and goats, with the fat of the grains of wheat: and the red [j]liquor of the grape hast thou drunk.

2 Corinthians 11:21-33

21 I speak as concerning the [a]reproach: as though that we had been [b]weak: but wherein any man is bold (I speak foolishly) I am bold also.

22 They are Hebrews, (A)so am I: they are Israelites, so am I: they are the seed of Abraham, so am I.

23 They are the ministers of Christ (I speak as a fool) I am [c]more: in labors more abundant: in stripes above measure: in prison more plenteously: in [d]death oft.

24 Of the Jews [e]five times received I forty stripes save one.

25 I was [f]thrice (B)beaten with rods: I was (C)once stoned: I suffered thrice (D)shipwreck: night and day have I been in the deep sea.

26 In journeying I was often, in perils of waters, in perils of robbers, in perils of mine own nation, in perils among the Gentiles, in perils in the city, in perils in wilderness, in perils in the sea, in perils among false brethren,

27 In weariness and [g]painfulness, in watching often, in hunger and thirst, in fastings often, in cold and in nakedness.

28 [h]Beside the things which are outward, I am cumbered daily, and have the care of all the Churches.

29 Who is weak, and I am not weak? Who is offended, and I burn not?

30 [i]If I must needs rejoice, I will rejoice of mine infirmities.

31 The God, even the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, which is blessed for evermore, knoweth that I lie not.

32 In (E)Damascus the governor of the people under King Aretas, laid watch in the city of the Damascenes, and would have caught me.

33 But at a window was I let down in a basket through the wall, and escaped his hands.

Luke 19:11-27

11 [a]And while they heard these things, he continued and spake a parable, because he was near to Jerusalem, and because also they thought that the kingdom of God should shortly appear.

12 He said therefore, (A)A certain noble man went into a far country, to receive for himself a kingdom, and so to come again.

13 [b]And he called his ten servants, and delivered them ten pieces of money, and said unto them, Occupy till I come.

14 Now his citizens hated him, and sent an ambassage after him, saying, We will not have this man to reign over us.

15 And it came to pass, when he was come again, and had received his kingdom, that he commanded the servants to be called to him, to whom he gave his money, that he might know what every man had gained.

16 Then came the first, saying, Lord, [c]thy piece hath increased ten pieces.

17 And he said unto him, Well, good servant: because thou hast been faithful in a very little thing, take thou authority over ten cities.

18 And the second came, saying, Lord, thy piece hath increased five pieces.

19 And to the same he said, Be thou also ruler over five cities.

20 [d]So the other came, and said, Lord, behold thy piece, which I have laid up in a napkin:

21 For I feared thee, because thou art a straight man: thou takest up that thou laidst not down, and reapest that thou didst not sow.

22 Then he said unto him, Of thine own mouth will I judge thee, O evil servant. Thou knewest that I am a straight man, taking up that I laid not down, and reaping that I did not sow.

23 Wherefore then gavest not thou my money into the [e]bank, that at my coming I might have required it with vantage?

24 And he said to them that stood by, Take from him that piece, and give it him that hath ten pieces.

25 (And they said unto him, Lord, he hath ten pieces.)

26 (B)For I say unto you, that unto all them that have, it shall be given: and from him that hath not, even that he hath, shall be taken from him.

27 Moreover, those mine enemies, which would not that I should reign over them, bring hither, and slay them before me.
