Psalm 68:1-20

68 1 In this Psalm David setteth forth as in a glass the wonderful mercies of God toward his people: 5 Who by all means and most strange sorts declared himself to them. 15 And therefore God’s Church by reason of his promises, graces, and victories, doth excel without comparison all worldly things. 34 He exhorteth therefore all men to praise God forever.

To him that excelleth. A Psalm or song of David.

God [a]will arise, and his enemies shall be scattered: they also that hate him, shall flee before him.

As the smoke vanisheth, so shalt thou drive them away: and as wax melteth before the fire, so shall the wicked perish at the presence of God.

[b]But the righteous shall be glad, and rejoice before God: yea, they shall leap for joy.

Sing unto God, and sing praises unto his name: exalt him that rideth upon the heavens, in his Name [c]Jah, and rejoice before him.

He is a Father of the fatherless, and a Judge of the widows, even God in his holy habitation.

God [d]maketh the solitary to dwell in families, and delivereth them that were prisoners in stocks: but the rebellious shall dwell in a [e]dry land.

[f]O God, when thou wentest forth before thy people: when thou wentest through the wilderness, (Selah.)

The earth shook, and the heavens dropped at the presence of this God: even Sinai was moved at the presence of God, even the God of Israel.

Thou, O God, sentest a gracious rain upon thine inheritance, and thou didst refresh it when it was weary.

10 Thy Congregation dwelled therein: for thou, O God, hast of thy [g]goodness prepared it for the poor.

11 The Lord gave matter to the [h]women to tell of the great army.

12 Kings of the armies did flee: they did flee, and [i]she that remained in the house, divided the spoil.

13 Though ye have lain among [j]pots, yet shall ye be as the wings of a dove that is covered with silver, and whose feathers are like yellow gold.

14 When the Almighty scattered kings [k]in it, it was white as the snow in Zalmon.

15 [l]The mountain of God is like the mountain of Bashan: it is an high mountain, as mount Bashan.

16 [m]Why leap ye, ye high mountains? as for this Mountain, God delighteth to dwell in it: yea, the Lord will dwell in it forever.

17 The chariots of God are twenty thousand thousand Angels, and the Lord is among them, as in the Sanctuary of Sinai.

18 Thou art gone up on high: thou hast [n]led captivity captive, and received gifts for men: yea, even the rebellious hast thou led, that the Lord God might dwell there.

19 Praised be the Lord, even the God of our salvation, which ladeth us daily with benefits. Selah.

20 This is our God, even the God that saveth us: and to the Lord God belong the [o]issues of death.

2 Kings 2:1-15

1 Elijah divided the waters with his cloak. 11 He is taken up into heaven. 13 Elisha taketh his cloak and divideth Jordan. 20 The bitter and venomous waters are healed. 23 The children that mock Elisha, are rent in pieces with bears.

And when the Lord would take up Elijah into heaven by a whirlwind, Elijah went with Elisha from [a]Gilgal.

Then Elijah said to Elisha, Tarry here, I pray thee: for the Lord hath sent me to Bethel. But Elisha said, As the Lord liveth, and as thy soul liveth, I will not leave thee. So they came down to Bethel.

And the [b]children of the Prophets that were at Bethel, came out to Elisha, and said unto him, Knowest thou that the Lord will take thy master from [c]thine head this day? And he said, Yea, I [d]know it: hold ye your peace.

Again Elijah said unto him, Elisha, tarry here, I pray thee: for the Lord hath sent me to Jericho. But he said, As the Lord liveth, and as thy soul liveth, I will not leave thee. So they came to Jericho.

And the children of the Prophets that were at [e]Jericho, came to Elisha, and said unto him, Knowest thou, that the Lord will take thy master from thine head this day? And he said, Yea, I know it: hold ye your peace.

Moreover Elijah said unto him, Tarry, I pray thee, here: for the Lord hath sent me to Jordan. But he said, As the Lord liveth, and as thy soul liveth, I will not leave thee. So they went both together.

And fifty men of the sons of the Prophets went and stood on the other side a far off, and they two stood by Jordan.

¶ Then Elijah took his cloak, and wrapped it together, and smote the [f]waters, and they were divided hither and thither, and they twain went over on the dry land.

Now when they were passed over, Elijah said unto Elisha, Ask what I shall do for thee before I be taken from thee. And Elisha said, I pray thee, let thy Spirit [g]be double upon me.

10 And he said, Thou hast asked an hard thing: yet if thou see me when I am taken from thee, thou shalt have it so: and if not, it shall not be.

11 And as they went walking and talking, behold, there appeared a chariot of fire, and horses of fire, and did separate them twain. So Elijah went up by a whirlwind into [h]heaven.

12 And Elisha saw it, and he cried, My father, my father, the chariot of Israel, and the horsemen thereof: and he saw him no more: and he took his own clothes, and rent them in two pieces.

13 ¶ He took up also the cloak of Elijah, that fell from him, and returned, and stood by the bank of Jordan.

14 After, he took the cloak of Elijah, that fell from him, and smote the waters, and said, Where is the Lord God of Elijah? And so he also, after he had stricken the waters, so that they were divided this way and that way, went over, even Elisha.

15 And when the children of the Prophets, which were at Jericho, saw him on the other side, they said, [i]The Spirit of Elijah doeth rest on Elisha: and they came to meet him, and fell to the ground before him,

Revelation 5

1 The book sealed with seven seals, 3 which none could open. 6 That Lamb of God, 9 is thought worthy to open, 12 even by the consent of all the company of heaven.

[a]And I saw in the [b]right hand of him that sat upon the throne, [c]a book written within, and on the backside sealed with seven seals.

And I saw a strong Angel which preached with a loud voice, Who is worthy to open the book, and to loose the seals thereof?

[d]And no man in heaven nor in earth, neither under the earth, was able to open the book, neither to look thereon.

Then I wept much, because no man was found worthy to open, and to read the book, neither to look thereon.

[e]And one of the Elders said unto me, Weep not: behold, that (A)[f]Lion which is of the tribe of Judah, that root of David, hath obtained to open the book, and to loose the seven seals thereof.

Then I beheld, and lo, [g]in the midst of the throne, and of the four beasts, and in the midst of the Elders stood a Lamb, as though he had been killed, which had seven horns, and seven eyes, which are the seven spirits of God, sent into all the world.

[h]And he came, and took the book out of the right hand of him that sat upon the throne.

[i]And when he hath taken the book, the four beasts, and the four and twenty Elders fell down before the Lamb, having every one [j]harps and golden vials full of odors, which are the [k]prayers of the Saints,

And they sung a [l]new [m]song, saying, [n]Thou art worthy to take the book, and to open the seals thereof, because thou wast killed, and hast redeemed us to God by thy blood out of every kindred, and tongue, and people, and nation.

10 And hast made us unto our God (B)Kings, and Priests, and we shall reign on the earth.

11 [o]Then I beheld, and I heard the voice of many Angels round about the throne, and about the beasts and the Elders, [p]and there were (C)[q]ten thousand times ten thousand, and thousand thousands,

12 Saying with a loud voice, Worthy is the Lamb that was killed, to [r]receive power, and riches, and wisdom, and strength, and honor, and glory, and praise.

13 [s]And all the creatures which are in heaven, and on the earth, and under the earth, and in the sea, and all that are in them, heard I saying, Praise, and honor, and glory, and power be unto him, that sitteth upon the throne, and unto the Lamb for evermore.

14 [t]And the four beasts said, Amen, and the four and twenty Elders fell down and worshipped him that liveth for evermore.
