Psalm 119:145-176

QOPH

145 I have called with my whole heart.
    Answer me, Yahweh!
    I will keep your statutes.
146 I have called to you. Save me!
    I will obey your statutes.
147 I rise before dawn and cry for help.
I put my hope in your words.
148 My eyes stay open through the night watches,
that I might meditate on your word.
149 Hear my voice according to your loving kindness.
Revive me, Yahweh, according to your ordinances.
150 They draw near who follow after wickedness.
They are far from your law.
151 You are near, Yahweh.
    All your commandments are truth.
152 Of old I have known from your testimonies,
that you have founded them forever.

RESH

153 Consider my affliction, and deliver me,
for I don’t forget your law.
154 Plead my cause, and redeem me!
Revive me according to your promise.
155 Salvation is far from the wicked,
for they don’t seek your statutes.
156 Great are your tender mercies, Yahweh.
Revive me according to your ordinances.
157 Many are my persecutors and my adversaries.
I haven’t swerved from your testimonies.
158 I look at the faithless with loathing,
because they don’t observe your word.
159 Consider how I love your precepts.
Revive me, Yahweh, according to your loving kindness.
160 All of your words are truth.
Every one of your righteous ordinances endures forever.

SIN AND SHIN

161 Princes have persecuted me without a cause,
but my heart stands in awe of your words.
162 I rejoice at your word,
as one who finds great plunder.
163 I hate and abhor falsehood.
    I love your law.
164 Seven times a day, I praise you,
    because of your righteous ordinances.
165 Those who love your law have great peace.
    Nothing causes them to stumble.
166 I have hoped for your salvation, Yahweh.
    I have done your commandments.
167 My soul has observed your testimonies.
    I love them exceedingly.
168 I have obeyed your precepts and your testimonies,
for all my ways are before you.

TAV

169 Let my cry come before you, Yahweh.
Give me understanding according to your word.
170 Let my supplication come before you.
Deliver me according to your word.
171 Let my lips utter praise,
for you teach me your statutes.
172 Let my tongue sing of your word,
for all your commandments are righteousness.
173 Let your hand be ready to help me,
for I have chosen your precepts.
174 I have longed for your salvation, Yahweh.
    Your law is my delight.
175 Let my soul live, that I may praise you.
    Let your ordinances help me.
176 I have gone astray like a lost sheep.
Seek your servant, for I don’t forget your commandments.

Psalm 128-130

A Song of Ascents.

128 Blessed is everyone who fears Yahweh,
    who walks in his ways.
For you will eat the labor of your hands.
You will be happy, and it will be well with you.
Your wife will be as a fruitful vine in the innermost parts of your house,
your children like olive shoots around your table.
Behold, this is how the man who fears Yahweh is blessed.
May Yahweh bless you out of Zion,
and may you see the good of Jerusalem all the days of your life.
Yes, may you see your children’s children.
    Peace be upon Israel.

A Song of Ascents.

129 Many times they have afflicted me from my youth up.
    Let Israel now say:
many times they have afflicted me from my youth up,
yet they have not prevailed against me.
The plowers plowed on my back.
    They made their furrows long.
Yahweh is righteous.
He has cut apart the cords of the wicked.
Let them be disappointed and turned backward,
    all those who hate Zion.
Let them be as the grass on the housetops,
which withers before it grows up,
with which the reaper doesn’t fill his hand,
nor he who binds sheaves, his bosom.
Neither do those who go by say,
“The blessing of Yahweh be on you.
We bless you in Yahweh’s name.”

A Song of Ascents.

130 Out of the depths I have cried to you, Yahweh.
Lord, hear my voice.
Let your ears be attentive to the voice of my petitions.
If you, Yah, kept a record of sins,
    Lord, who could stand?
But there is forgiveness with you,
    therefore you are feared.
I wait for Yahweh.
    My soul waits.
    I hope in his word.
My soul longs for the Lord more than watchmen long for the morning,
more than watchmen for the morning.
Israel, hope in Yahweh,
for there is loving kindness with Yahweh.
    Abundant redemption is with him.
He will redeem Israel from all their sins.

Jeremiah 25:30-38

30 “Therefore prophesy against them all these words, and tell them,

“‘Yahweh will roar from on high,
and utter his voice from his holy habitation.
He will mightily roar against his fold.
He will give a shout, as those who tread grapes,
against all the inhabitants of the earth.
31 A noise will come even to the end of the earth;
for Yahweh has a controversy with the nations.
He will enter into judgment with all flesh.
As for the wicked, he will give them to the sword,”’ says Yahweh.”

32 Yahweh of Armies says,

“Behold, evil will go out from nation to nation,
and a great storm will be raised up from the uttermost parts of the earth.”

33 The slain of Yahweh will be at that day from one end of the earth even to the other end of the earth. They won’t be lamented. They won’t be gathered or buried. They will be dung on the surface of the ground.

34 Wail, you shepherds, and cry.
    Wallow in dust, you leader of the flock;
for the days of your slaughter and of your dispersions have fully come,
and you will fall like fine pottery.
35 The shepherds will have no way to flee.
The leader of the flock will have no escape.
36 A voice of the cry of the shepherds,
and the wailing of the leader of the flock,
    for Yahweh destroys their pasture.
37 The peaceful folds are brought to silence
because of the fierce anger of Yahweh.
38 He has left his covert, as the lion;
for their land has become an astonishment because of the fierceness of the oppression,
and because of his fierce anger.

Romans 10:14-21

14 How then will they call on him in whom they have not believed? How will they believe in him whom they have not heard? How will they hear without a preacher? 15 And how will they preach unless they are sent? As it is written:

“How beautiful are the feet of those who preach the Good News of peace,
who bring glad tidings of good things!”(A)

16 But they didn’t all listen to the glad news. For Isaiah says, “Lord, who has believed our report?”(B) 17 So faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God. 18 But I say, didn’t they hear? Yes, most certainly,

“Their sound went out into all the earth,
their words to the ends of the world.”(C)

19 But I ask, didn’t Israel know? First Moses says,

“I will provoke you to jealousy with that which is no nation.
I will make you angry with a nation void of understanding.”(D)

20 Isaiah is very bold and says,

“I was found by those who didn’t seek me.
I was revealed to those who didn’t ask for me.”(E)

21 But about Israel he says, “All day long I stretched out my hands to a disobedient and contrary people.”(F)

John 10:1-18

10 “Most certainly, I tell you, one who doesn’t enter by the door into the sheep fold, but climbs up some other way, is a thief and a robber. But one who enters in by the door is the shepherd of the sheep. The gatekeeper opens the gate for him, and the sheep listen to his voice. He calls his own sheep by name and leads them out. Whenever he brings out his own sheep, he goes before them; and the sheep follow him, for they know his voice. They will by no means follow a stranger, but will flee from him; for they don’t know the voice of strangers.” Jesus spoke this parable to them, but they didn’t understand what he was telling them.

Jesus therefore said to them again, “Most certainly, I tell you, I am the sheep’s door. All who came before me are thieves and robbers, but the sheep didn’t listen to them. I am the door. If anyone enters in by me, he will be saved, and will go in and go out and will find pasture. 10 The thief only comes to steal, kill, and destroy. I came that they may have life, and may have it abundantly.

11 “I am the good shepherd.(A) The good shepherd lays down his life for the sheep. 12 He who is a hired hand, and not a shepherd, who doesn’t own the sheep, sees the wolf coming, leaves the sheep, and flees. The wolf snatches the sheep and scatters them. 13 The hired hand flees because he is a hired hand and doesn’t care for the sheep. 14 I am the good shepherd. I know my own, and I’m known by my own; 15 even as the Father knows me, and I know the Father. I lay down my life for the sheep. 16 I have other sheep which are not of this fold.(B) I must bring them also, and they will hear my voice. They will become one flock with one shepherd. 17 Therefore the Father loves me, because I lay down my life, (C) that I may take it again. 18 No one takes it away from me, but I lay it down by myself. I have power to lay it down, and I have power to take it again. I received this commandment from my Father.”
