Psalm 113

113 1 An exhortation to praise the Lord for his providence 7 in that that contrary to the course of nature he worketh in his Church.

Praise ye the Lord.

Praise, O ye servants of the Lord, [a]praise the Name of the Lord.

Blessed be the Name of the Lord from henceforth and forever.

The Lord’s Name is praised from the rising of the sun, unto the going down of the same.

The Lord is high above all [b]nations, and his glory above the heavens.

Who is like unto the Lord our God, that hath his dwelling on high.

Who abaseth himself to behold things in the heavens and in the earth!

He raiseth the needy out of the dust, and lifteth up the [c]poor out of the dung,

That he may set him with the princes, even with the princes of his people.

He maketh the barren woman to dwell with a family, and a joyful mother of children. Praise ye the Lord.

Psalm 122

122 1 David rejoiceth in the name of the faithful, that God hath accomplished his promise and placed his Ark in Zion. 5 For the which he giveth thanks, 8 And prayeth for the prosperity of the Church.

A song of degrees, or Psalm of David.

I (A)[a]rejoiced when they said to me, We will go into the house of the Lord.

Our [b]feet shall stand in thy gates, O Jerusalem.

Jerusalem is built as a city, that is [c]compact together in itself:

Whereunto [d]the Tribes, even the Tribes of the Lord go up according to the testimony to Israel, to praise the Name of the Lord.

For there are thrones set for judgment, even the thrones of the house of [e]David.

Pray for the peace of Jerusalem: let them prosper that love thee.

Peace be within thy [f]walls, and prosperity within thy palaces.

For my [g]brethren and neighbors’ sakes, I will wish thee now prosperity.

Because of the House of the Lord our God, I will procure thy wealth.

1 Samuel 1:20-28

20 For in process of time Hannah conceived and bare a son, and she called his name Samuel, Because, said she, I have asked him of the Lord.

21 ¶ So the man [a]Elkanah and all his house, went up to offer unto the Lord the yearly sacrifice and his vow:

22 But Hannah went not up: for she said unto her husband, I will tarry until the child be weaned, then I will bring him that he may appear before the Lord, and there abide forever.

23 And Elkanah her husband said unto her, Do what seemeth thee best: tarry until thou hast weaned him: only the Lord accomplish his [b]word. So the woman abode, and gave her son suck until she weaned him.

24 ¶ And when she had weaned him, she took him with her with three bullocks and an Ephah of flour and a bottle of wine, and brought him unto the house of the Lord in Shiloh, and the child was [c]young.

25 And they slew a bullock, and brought the child to Eli.

26 And she said, Oh my Lord, as thy [d]soul liveth, my lord, I am the woman that stood with thee here praying unto the Lord.

27 I prayed for this child, and the Lord hath given me my desire which I asked of him.

28 Therefore also I have [e]given him unto the Lord: as long as he liveth he shall be given unto the Lord: and he [f]worshipped the Lord there.

Romans 8:14-21

14 [a]For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God.

15 [b]For ye have not received the [c]Spirit of bondage, to [d]fear again: but ye have received the Spirit of [e]adoption, whereby we cry, Abba, Father.

16 The same Spirit beareth witness with our spirit, that we are the children of God.

17 [f]If we be children, we are also [g]heirs, even the heirs of God, and heirs annexed with Christ: [h]if so be that we suffer with him, that we may also be glorified with him.

18 [i]For I [j]count that the afflictions of this present time are not worthy of the glory, which shall be showed unto us.

19 [k]For the fervent desire of the [l]creature waiteth when the sons of God shall be revealed,

20 Because the creature is subject to [m]vanity, not of its [n]own will, but by reason [o]of him, which hath subdued it under [p]hope,

21 Because the creature also shall be delivered from the [q]bondage of corruption into the glorious liberty of the sons of God.
