Prayer for Victory over Enemies.
For the choir director. A Psalm of David.
20 May the Lord answer you (A)in the day of trouble!
May the (B)name of the (C)God of Jacob set you securely on high!
2 May He send you help (D)from the sanctuary
And (E)support you from Zion!
3 May He (F)remember all your meal offerings
And (G)find your burnt offering [a]acceptable! [b]Selah.
4 May He grant you your (H)heart’s desire
And (I)fulfill all your [c]counsel!
5 [d]We will (J)sing for joy over your [e]victory,
And in the name of our God we will (K)set up our banners.
May the Lord (L)fulfill all your petitions.
6 Now (M)I know that the Lord saves His anointed;
He will (N)answer him from His holy heaven
With the [f](O)saving strength of His right hand.
7 Some [g]boast in chariots and some in (P)horses,
But (Q)we [h]will boast in the name of the Lord, our God.
8 They have (R)bowed down and fallen,
But we have (S)risen and stood upright.
9 [i](T)Save, O Lord;
May the (U)King answer us in the day we call.

21 O Lord, in Your strength the king will (V)be glad,
And in Your [j]salvation how greatly he will rejoice!
2 You have (W)given him his heart’s desire,
And You have not withheld the request of his lips. [k]Selah.
3 For You (X)meet him with the blessings of good things;
You set a (Y)crown of fine gold on his head.
4 He asked life of You,
You (Z)gave it to him,
(AA)Length of days forever and ever.
5 His (AB)glory is great through Your [l]salvation,
(AC)Splendor and majesty You place upon him.
6 For You make him [m]most (AD)blessed forever;
You make him joyful (AE)with gladness in Your presence.
7 For the king (AF)trusts in the Lord,
And through the lovingkindness of the Most High (AG)he will not be shaken.
8 Your hand will (AH)find out all your enemies;
Your right hand will find out those who hate you.
9 You will make them (AI)as a fiery oven in the time [n]of your anger;
The Lord will (AJ)swallow them up in His wrath,
And (AK)fire will devour them.
10 Their [o]offspring You will destroy from the earth,
And their [p](AL)descendants from among the sons of men.
11 Though they [q](AM)intended evil against You
And (AN)devised a plot,
They will not succeed.
12 For You will (AO)make them turn their back;
You will [r]aim (AP)with Your bowstrings at their faces.
13 Be exalted, O Lord, in Your strength;
We will (AQ)sing and praise Your power.
The Lord Gives Dominion to the King.

110 (A)The Lord says to my Lord:
“(B)Sit at My right hand
Until I make (C)Your enemies a footstool for Your feet.”
2 The Lord will stretch forth Your strong (D)scepter from Zion, saying,
“(E)Rule in the midst of Your enemies.”
3 Your (F)people [a]will volunteer freely in the day of Your [b]power;
(G)In [c]holy array, from the womb of the dawn,
[d]Your youth are to You as the (H)dew.
4 (I)The Lord has sworn and will (J)not [e]change His mind,
“You are a (K)priest forever
According to the order of Melchizedek.”
5 The Lord is (L)at Your right hand;
He [f]will (M)shatter kings in the (N)day of His wrath.
6 He will (O)judge among the nations,
He [g]will fill them with (P)corpses,
He [h]will (Q)shatter the [i]chief men over a broad country.
7 He will (R)drink from the brook by the wayside;
Therefore He will (S)lift up His head.
Thanksgiving for Deliverance from Death.
116 (A)I love the Lord, because He (B)hears
My voice and my supplications.
2 Because He has (C)inclined His ear to me,
Therefore I shall call upon Him as long as I live.
3 The (D)cords of death encompassed me
And the [a]terrors of [b]Sheol [c]came upon me;
I found distress and sorrow.
4 Then (E)I called upon the name of the Lord:
“O Lord, I beseech You, [d](F)save my life!”
5 (G)Gracious is the Lord, and (H)righteous;
Yes, our God is (I)compassionate.
6 The Lord preserves (J)the simple;
I was (K)brought low, and He saved me.
7 Return to your (L)rest, O my soul,
For the Lord has (M)dealt bountifully with you.
8 For You have (N)rescued my soul from death,
My eyes from tears,
My feet from stumbling.
9 I shall walk before the Lord
In the [e](O)land of the living.
10 I (P)believed when I said,
“I am (Q)greatly afflicted.”
11 I (R)said in my alarm,
“(S)All men are liars.”
12 What shall I (T)render to the Lord
For all His (U)benefits [f]toward me?
13 I shall lift up the (V)cup of salvation
And (W)call upon the name of the Lord.
14 I shall (X)pay my vows to the Lord,
Oh may it be (Y)in the presence of all His people.
15 (Z)Precious in the sight of the Lord
Is the death of His godly ones.
16 O Lord, [g]surely I am (AA)Your servant,
I am Your servant, the (AB)son of Your handmaid,
You have (AC)loosed my bonds.
17 To You I shall offer (AD)a sacrifice of thanksgiving,
And (AE)call upon the name of the Lord.
18 I shall (AF)pay my vows to the Lord,
Oh may it be in the presence of all His people,
19 In the (AG)courts of the Lord’s house,
In the midst of you, O (AH)Jerusalem.

A Psalm of Praise.
17 After three days [a]Paul called together those who were (A)the leading men of the Jews, and when they came together, he began saying to them, “(B)Brethren, (C)though I had done nothing against our people or (D)the customs of our [b]fathers, yet I was delivered as a prisoner from Jerusalem into the hands of the Romans. 18 And when they had (E)examined me, they (F)were willing to release me because there was (G)no ground [c]for putting me to death. 19 But when the Jews [d]objected, I was forced to (H)appeal to Caesar, not that I had any accusation against my nation. 20 For this reason, therefore, I [e]requested to see you and to speak with you, for I am wearing (I)this chain for (J)the sake of the hope of Israel.” 21 They said to him, “We have neither received letters from Judea concerning you, nor have any of (K)the brethren come here and reported or spoken anything bad about you. 22 But we desire to hear from you what [f]your views are; for concerning this (L)sect, it is known to us that (M)it is spoken against everywhere.”
23 When they had set a day for Paul, they came to him at (N)his lodging in large numbers; and he was explaining to them by solemnly (O)testifying about the kingdom of God and trying to persuade them concerning Jesus, (P)from both the Law of Moses and from the Prophets, from morning until evening. 24 (Q)Some were being persuaded by the things spoken, but others would not believe. 25 And when they did not agree with one another, they began leaving after Paul had spoken one parting word, “The Holy Spirit rightly spoke through Isaiah the prophet to your fathers, 26 saying,
‘(R)Go to this people and say,
“[g](S)You will keep on hearing, [h]but will not understand;
And [i]you will keep on seeing, but will not perceive;
27 (T)For the heart of this people has become dull,
And with their ears they scarcely hear,
And they have closed their eyes;
Otherwise they might see with their eyes,
And hear with their ears,
And understand with their heart and return,
And I would heal them.”’
28 Therefore let it be known to you that (U)this salvation of God has been sent (V)to the Gentiles; they will also listen.” 29 [[j]When he had spoken these words, the Jews departed, having a great dispute among themselves.]
30 And he stayed two full years [k]in his own rented quarters and was welcoming all who came to him, 31 [l](W)preaching the kingdom of God and teaching concerning the Lord Jesus Christ (X)with all openness, unhindered.
37 (A)On the next day, when they came down from the mountain, a large crowd met Him. 38 And a man from the crowd shouted, saying, “Teacher, I beg You to look at my son, for he is my [a]only boy, 39 and a spirit seizes him, and he suddenly screams, and it throws him into a convulsion with foaming at the mouth; and only with difficulty does it leave him, mauling him as it leaves. 40 I begged Your disciples to cast it out, and they could not.” 41 And Jesus answered and said, “You unbelieving and perverted generation, how long shall I be with you and put up with you? Bring your son here.” 42 While he was still approaching, the demon [b]slammed him to the ground and threw him into a convulsion. But Jesus rebuked the unclean spirit, and healed the boy and gave him back to his father. 43 And they were all amazed at the [c](B)greatness of God.
(C)But while everyone was marveling at all that He was doing, He said to His disciples, 44 “Let these words sink into your ears; (D)for the Son of Man is going to be [d]delivered into the hands of men.” 45 But (E)they [e]did not understand this statement, and it was concealed from them so that they would not perceive it; and they were afraid to ask Him about this statement.
The Test of Greatness
46 (F)An argument [f]started among them as to which of them might be the greatest. 47 But Jesus, (G)knowing [g]what they were thinking in their heart, took a child and stood him by His side, 48 and said to them, “(H)Whoever receives this child in My name receives Me, and whoever receives Me receives Him who sent Me; (I)for the one who is least among all of you, this is the one who is great.”
49 (J)John answered and said, “(K)Master, we saw someone casting out demons in Your name; and we tried to prevent him because he does not follow along with us.” 50 But Jesus said to him, “Do not hinder him; (L)for he who is not against you is [h]for you.”
