50 The Mighty God, even the Lord, hath spoken and called the earth from the rising of the sun unto the going down thereof.
2 Out of Zion, the perfection of beauty, God hath shined.
3 Our God shall come and shall not keep silence; a devouring fire shall go before Him, and it shall be very tempestuous round about Him.
4 He shall call to the heavens from above and to the earth, that He may judge His people:
5 “Gather My saints together unto Me, those that have made a covenant with Me by sacrifice.”
6 And the heavens shall declare His righteousness, for God Himself is judge. Selah
7 “Hear, O My people, and I will speak, O Israel, and I will testify against thee: I am God, even thy God.
8 I will not reprove thee for thy sacrifices or thy burnt offerings, to have been continually before Me.
9 I will take no bullock out of thy house, nor hegoats out of thy folds.
10 For every beast of the forest is Mine and the cattle upon a thousand hills.
11 I know all the fowls of the mountains, and the wild beasts of the field are Mine.
12 If I were hungry I would not tell thee, for the world is Mine and the fullness thereof.
13 Will I eat the flesh of bulls, or drink the blood of goats?
14 “Offer unto God thanksgiving, and pay thy vows unto the Most High,
15 and call upon Me in the day of trouble; I will deliver thee, and thou shalt glorify Me.”
16 But unto the wicked God saith: “What hast thou to do to declare My statutes, or that thou shouldest take My covenant in thy mouth,
17 seeing thou hatest instruction and castest My words behind thee?
18 When thou sawest a thief, then thou consented with him, and thou hast been partaker with adulterers.
19 Thou givest thy mouth to evil, and thy tongue frameth deceit.
20 Thou sittest and speakest against thy brother; thou slanderest thine own mother’s son.
21 These things hast thou done, and I kept silence; thou thoughtest that I was altogether such a one as thyself. But I will reprove thee and set them in order before thine eyes.
22 “Now consider this, ye that forget God, lest I tear you in pieces and there be none to deliver:
23 Whoso offereth praise glorifieth Me; and to him that ordereth his manner of living aright, I will show the salvation of God.”
59 Deliver me from mine enemies, O my God; defend me from them that rise up against me.
2 Deliver me from the workers of iniquity, and save me from bloody men.
3 For lo, they lie in wait for my soul; the mighty are gathered against me, not for my transgression, nor for my sin, O Lord.
4 They run and prepare themselves though I am not at fault. Awake to help me, and behold!
5 Thou therefore, O Lord God of hosts, the God of Israel, awake to visit all the heathen; be not merciful to any wicked transgressors. Selah
6 They return at evening; they make a noise like a dog and go round about the city.
7 Behold, they belch out with their mouth; swords are in their lips; “For who,” say they, “doth hear?”
8 But Thou, O Lord, shalt laugh at them; Thou shalt hold all the heathen in derision.
9 Because of his strength, I will wait upon Thee; for God is my defense.
10 The God of my mercy shall go before me; God shall let me see my desire upon mine enemies.
11 Slay them not, lest my people forget; scatter them by Thy power and bring them down, O Lord our shield.
12 For the sin of their mouth and the words of their lips, let them even be taken in their pride, and for the cursing and lying which they speak.
13 Consume them in wrath, consume them, that they may not be; and let them know that God ruleth in Jacob unto the ends of the earth. Selah
14 And at evening let them return, and let them make a noise like a dog and go round about the city.
15 Let them wander up and down for meat, and grumble if they be not satisfied.
16 But I will sing of Thy power, yea, I will sing aloud of Thy mercy in the morning; for Thou hast been my defense and refuge in the day of my trouble.
17 Unto Thee, O my Strength, will I sing; for God is my defense, and the God of my mercy.
60 O God, Thou hast cast us off, Thou hast scattered us, Thou hast been displeased; O, turn Thyself to us again!
2 Thou hast made the earth to tremble, Thou hast broken it; heal the breaches thereof, for it shaketh.
3 Thou hast shown Thy people hard things; Thou hast made us to drink the wine of astonishment.
4 Thou hast given a banner to them that fear Thee, that it may be displayed because of the truth. Selah
5 That Thy beloved may be delivered, save with Thy right hand and hear me!
6 God hath spoken in His holiness: “I will rejoice; I will divide Shechem and portion out the Valley of Succoth.
7 Gilead is Mine, and Manasseh is Mine; Ephraim also is the strength of Mine head; Judah is My lawgiver.
8 Moab is My washpot; over Edom will I cast out My shoe; Philistia, triumph thou because of Me.”
9 Who will bring me into the stronghold city? Who will lead me into Edom?
10 Will not Thou, O God, who hadst cast us off, and Thou, O God, who didst not go out with our armies?
11 Give us help from trouble, for vain is the help of man.
12 Through God we shall do valiantly, for He it is that shall tread down our enemies.
8 O Lord, our Lord, how excellent is Thy name in all the earth, who hast set Thy glory above the heavens!
2 Out of the mouth of babes and sucklings hast Thou ordained strength because of Thine enemies, that Thou mightest still the enemy and the avenger.
3 When I consider Thy heavens, the work of Thy fingers, the moon and the stars which Thou hast ordained,
4 what is man that Thou art mindful of him, and the son of man that Thou dost visit him?
5 For Thou hast made him a little lower than the angels, and hast crowned him with glory and honor.
6 Thou hast made him to have dominion over the works of Thy hands; Thou hast put all things under his feet,
7 all sheep and oxen, yea, and the beasts of the field,
8 the fowl of the air, and the fish of the sea, and whatsoever passeth through the paths of the seas.
9 O Lord, our Lord, how excellent is Thy name in all the earth!
84 How amiable are Thy tabernacles, O Lord of hosts!
2 My soul longeth, yea, even fainteth for the courts of the Lord; my heart and my flesh crieth out for the living God.
3 Yea, the sparrow hath found a house, and the swallow a nest for herself where she may lay her young” even Thine altars, O Lord of hosts, my King and my God.
4 Blessed are they that dwell in Thy house; they will be ever praising Thee. Selah
5 Blessed is the man whose strength is in Thee, in whose heart are Thy ways,
6 who passing through the Valley of Baca makes it a well; the rain also filleth the pools.
7 They go from strength to strength; every one of them in Zion appeareth before God.
8 O Lord God of hosts, hear my prayer; give ear, O God of Jacob. Selah
9 Behold, O God our shield, and look upon the face of Thine anointed.
10 For a day in Thy courts is better than a thousand; I would rather be a doorkeeper in the house of my God, than to dwell in the tents of wickedness.
11 For the Lord God is a sun and shield; the Lord will give grace and glory; no good thing will He withhold from them that walk uprightly.
12 O Lord of hosts, blessed is the man that trusteth in Thee!
16 And moreover I saw under the sun the place of judgment, that wickedness was there; and the place of righteousness, that iniquity was there.
17 I said in mine heart, “God shall judge the righteous and the wicked, for there is a time there for every purpose and for every work.”
18 I said in mine heart concerning the estate of the sons of men, that God might manifest them, and that they might see that they themselves are beasts.
19 For that which befalleth the sons of men befalleth beasts; even one thing befalleth them: as the one dieth, so dieth the other. Yea, they have all one breath, so that man hath no preeminence above a beast, for all is vanity.
20 All go unto one place; all are of the dust, and all turn to dust again.
21 Who knoweth the spirit of man that goeth upward, and the spirit of the beast that goeth downward to the earth?
22 Therefore I perceived that there is nothing better than that a man should rejoice in his own works, for that is his portion; for who shall bring him to see what shall be after him?
4 So I returned and considered all the oppressions that are done under the sun: And behold, the tears of those who were oppressed, and they had no comforter; and on the side of their oppressors there was power, but they had no comforter.
2 Therefore I praised the dead who are already dead more than the living who are yet alive;
3 yea, better than both of them is he who hath not yet been, who hath not seen the evil work that is done under the sun.
3 O foolish Galatians! Who hath bewitched you, that you should not obey the truth, before whose eyes Jesus Christ hath been clearly set forth, crucified among you?
2 This only would I learn of you: Did ye receive the Spirit by the works of the law, or by the hearing of faith?
3 Are ye so foolish? Having begun in the Spirit, are ye now made perfect by the flesh?
4 Have ye suffered so many things in vain — if it be yet in vain?
5 He therefore that ministereth to you the Spirit and worketh miracles among you, doeth He it by the works of the law, or by the hearing of faith?
6 Even as Abraham “believed God, and it was accounted to him as righteousness.”
7 Know ye therefore that those who are of faith, the same are the children of Abraham.
8 And the Scripture, foreseeing that God would justify the heathen through faith, preached beforehand the Gospel unto Abraham, saying, “In thee shall all nations be blessed.”
9 So then, those who are of faith are blessed with faithful Abraham.
10 For as many as are of the works of the law are under the curse; for it is written: “Cursed is every one who continueth not in all things which are written in the book of the law to do them.”
11 But that no man is justified by the law in the sight of God is evident, for “the just shall live by faith.”
12 And the law is not of faith, but “The man who doeth them shall live in them.”
13 Christ hath redeemed us from the curse of the law, being made a curse for us (for it is written, “Cursed is every one who hangeth on a tree”),
14 that the blessing of Abraham might come on the Gentiles through Jesus Christ, that we might receive the promise of the Spirit through faith.
13 When Jesus heard of it, He departed thence by boat into a desert place apart. And when the people had heard thereof, they followed Him on foot out of the cities.
14 And Jesus went forth and saw a great multitude, and was moved with compassion toward them, and He healed their sick.
15 And when it was evening, His disciples came to Him, saying, “This is a desert place and the time is now past. Send the multitude away, that they may go into the villages and buy themselves victuals.”
16 But Jesus said unto them, “They need not depart. Give ye them to eat.”
17 And they said unto Him, “We have here but five loaves and two fishes.”
18 And He said, “Bring them hither to Me.”
19 And He commanded the multitude to sit down on the grass, and took the five loaves and the two fishes; and looking up to Heaven, He blessed and broke the loaves and gave them to His disciples, and the disciples to the multitude.
20 And they all ate and were filled. And they took up the fragments that remained, twelve baskets full.
21 And those who had eaten were about five thousand men, besides women and children.
