105 Praise the LORD! Call upon His Name! Declare His works among the people!
2 Sing to Him! Sing praise to Him! Talk of all His wondrous works!
3 Rejoice in His Holy Name! Let the heart of those who seek the LORD, rejoice!
4 Seek the LORD and His strength. Seek His face continually.
5 Remember His marvelous works that He has done, His wonders and the judgments of His mouth
6 you seed of Abraham His servant, you children of Jacob who are His Elect.
7 He is the LORD our God. His judgments are through all the Earth.
8 He has always remembered His Covenant promise that He made to a thousand generations
9 (which he made with Abraham) and his oath to Isaac.
10 And He has since confirmed it to Jacob for a Law, and to Israel for an everlasting Covenant,
11 saying, “To You I will give the land of Canaan, the lot of your inheritance,”
12 when they were few in number (indeed, very few) and strangers in the land
13 and walked about from nation to nation, from one kingdom to another people.
14 Still, He allowed no man to do them wrong, but rebuked kings for their sakes, saying,
15 “Do not touch My anointed, nor do my Prophets harm.”
16 Moreover, He called a famine upon the land, and utterly broke the staff of bread.
17 But, He sent a man before them. Joseph was sold for a slave.
18 They held his feet in the stocks; and he was laid in irons
19 until his appointed time came, and the counsel of the LORD had tried him.
20 The King sent and released him. The ruler of the people delivered him.
21 He made him lord of his house, and ruler of all his substance,
22 so that he could bind his princes to his will and teach his ancients wisdom.
23 Then Israel came to Egypt, and Jacob was a stranger in the land of Ham.
24 And He increased His people exceedingly and made them stronger than their oppressors.
25 He turned their heart to hate His people, and to deal craftily with His servants.
26 He sent Moses, His servant, and Aaron, whom He had chosen.
27 They showed the message of His signs among them and wonders in the land of Ham.
28 He sent darkness and made it dark. And they were not disobedient to His commission.
29 He turned their waters into blood and killed their fish.
30 Their land brought forth frogs, even in their king’s chambers.
31 He spoke, and there came swarms of flies and lice in all their quarters.
32 He gave them hail for rain, and flames of fire in their land.
33 He also struck their vines and their fig trees and broke down the trees on their coasts.
34 He spoke, and the grasshoppers came, and innumerable caterpillars,
35 and ate up all the grass in their land and devoured the fruit of their ground.
36 He also struck all the firstborn in their land, even the beginning of all their strength.
37 He also brought them forth with silver and gold, and there was no one feeble among their tribes.
38 Egypt was glad at their departing, for the fear of them had fallen upon them.
39 He spread a cloud to be a covering, and fire to give light in the night.
40 They asked, and He brought quails; and He filled them with the bread of Heaven.
41 He opened the rock and the water flowed out and ran like a river in the dry places.
42 For He remembered His Holy Promise to Abraham, His servant.
43 And He brought forth His people with joy and his chosen with gladness,
44 and gave them the lands of the heathen. And they took the labors of the people in possession,
45 so that they might keep His statutes and observe His Laws. Praise the LORD! Praise the LORD
15 After this, Absalom prepared chariots for himself, and horses, and fifty men to run before him.
2 And Absalom rose up early and stood by the entrance of the gate. And every man who had any dispute, and had come to the king for judgment, Absalom called to himself, and said, “What city are you from?” And he answered, “Your servant is from…” (one of the tribes of Israel).
3 Then Absalom said to him, “See, your matters are good and righteous; but there is no deputy of the king to hear you.”
4 Moreover, Absalom said, “Oh that I were made judge in the land, so that every man who has any dispute might come to me, so that I might do him justice!”
5 And when any man came near to him and prostrated himself, he put forth his hand and took him and kissed him.
6 And in this manner did Absalom to all Israel who came to the king for judgment. So, Absalom stole the hearts of the men of Israel.
7 And after forty years, Absalom said to the king, “Pleaase let me go to Hebron and render my vow which I have vowed to the LORD.
8 “For your servant vowed a vow when I remained at Geshur, in Aram, saying, ‘If the LORD shall bring me back indeed to Jerusalem, I will serve the LORD.’”
9 And the king said to him, “Go in peace.” So, he arose and went to Hebron.
10 Then, Absalom sent spies throughout all the tribes of Israel, saying, “When you hear the sound of the trumpet, you shall say, ‘Absalom reigns in Hebron!’”
11 And two hundred invited men went out of Jerusalem with Absalom. And they went innocently, knowing nothing.
12 Also, Absalom sent for Ahithophel the Gilonite, David’s counselor, from his city, Giloh, while he offered Sacrifices. And the treason was great. For the people with Absalom steadily increased.
13 Then, a messenger came to David, saying, “The hearts of the men of Israel have turned to follow Absalom.”
14 Then David said to all his servants who were with him at Jerusalem, “Up, and let us flee! For we shall not escape from Absalom. Make speed to depart, lest he comes suddenly and takes us and brings evil upon us and strikes the city with the edge of the sword.”
15 And the king’s servants said to him, “Behold, your servants are ready to do according to all that my lord the king shall appoint.”
16 So the king departed, with all his household following him. And the king left ten concubines to keep the house.
17 And the king went forth, with all the people following him, and stayed in a faraway place.
18 And all his servants went around him, and all the Cherethites and all the Pelethites and all the Gittites, six hundred men, who had followed him from Gath, went before the king.
27 And when the seven days had almost ended, the Asian Jews (when they saw him in the Temple) incited all the people, and laid hands on him,
28 crying, “Men of Israel! Help! This is the man who teaches against the people, and the Law, and this place - to everyone, everywhere! Moreover, he has brought Greeks into the Temple, and has polluted this holy place!”
29 For they had seen Trophimus (an Ephesian) with him in the city before, whom they assumed that Paul had brought into the Temple.
30 Then all the city was moved, and the people ran together. And they took Paul, and dragged him out of the Temple, and immediately the doors were shut.
31 But as they were seeking to kill him, word came to the chief captain of the band that all Jerusalem was in an uproar;
32 who immediately took soldiers and Centurions and ran down to them. And when they saw the chief captain and the soldiers, they stopped beating Paul.
33 Then the chief captain came near and took him, and commanded that he be bound with two chains, and asked who he was and what he had done.
34 And one cried this, and another that, among the people. So, when he could not discern the veracity because of the uproar, he commanded him to be led into the castle.
35 And when he came to the stairs, it happened that he was carried by the soldiers because of the violence of the people.
36 For the multitude of the people followed them, crying, “Away with him!”
32 And as they were going up to Jerusalem, Jesus went before them. And they were troubled. And as they followed, they were afraid. And Jesus took the twelve again and began to tell them what things would happen to Him,
33 saying, “Behold, we go up to Jerusalem. And the Son of Man shall be delivered to the chief priests and the scribes. And they shall condemn Him to death and shall deliver Him to the Gentiles.
34 “And they shall mock Him and scourge Him and spit upon Him and kill Him. But the third day, He shall rise again.”
35 Then James and John, the sons of Zebedee, came to Him, saying, “Master, we ask that You would do for us that which we desire.”
36 And He said to them, “What would that be?”
37 And they said to Him, “Grant to us that we may sit - one at Your right hand, and the other at Your left hand - in Your Glory.
38 But Jesus said to them, “You do not know what you ask. Can you drink of the same cup as Me, and be baptized with the same baptism?”
39 And they said to Him, “We can.” But Jesus said to them, “You shall indeed drink of the same cup, and be baptized with the same baptism.
40 “But to sit at My right hand and at My left is not Mine to give. But rather, it shall be given to those for whom it is prepared.”
41 And when the other ten heard that, they began to be angry about James and John.
42 But Jesus called them to Him, and said to them, “You know that those who are princes among the Gentiles, have dominion over them. And those who are great among them exercise authority over them.
43 “But it shall not be so among you. For whoever desires to be great among you shall be your servant.
44 “And whoever desires to be your leader shall be the servant of all.
45 “For even the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve; and to give His life for the ransom of many.”
