Psalm 132

132 LORD, remember David with all his affliction.

Who swore to the LORD, vowed to the Mighty of Jacob,

“I will not enter into the tabernacle of my house, nor come upon my pallet (my bed),

“nor allow my eyes to sleep, nor my eyelids to slumber,

“until I find a place for the LORD, a habitation for the Mighty of Jacob.”

Lo, we heard of it in Ephrathah and found it in the fields of the forest.

We will enter into His Tabernacles and worship before His footstool.

Arise, O LORD, into Your rest, You and the Ark of Your strength.

Let Your priests be clothed with righteousness; and let Your saints rejoice.

10 For Your servant David’s sake, do not refuse the face of Your Anointed.

11 The LORD has sworn to David in truth; and He will not shrink from it, saying, “From the fruit of your body will I set upon your throne.

12 “If your sons keep My Covenant, and My testimonies, so that I shall teach them, their sons also shall sit upon your throne forever.”

13 For the LORD has chosen Zion and loved to dwell in it, saying,

14 “This is My rest, forever. Here will I dwell; for I have desired it.

15 “I will surely bless her provisions and will satisfy her poor with bread

16 “and will clothe her priests with salvation; and her saints shall shout for joy.

17 “There I will make the horn of David bud. I have ordained a Light for My Anointed.

18 “I will clothe His enemies with shame; but on Him His crown shall flourish.” A song of degrees, or Psalm, of Solomon

Isaiah 11:1-10

11 But there shall come forth a Rod from the stem of Jesse. And a Branch shall grow out of his roots.

And the Spirit of the LORD shall rest upon Him—the spirit of wisdom and understanding, the spirit of counsel and strength, the spirit of knowledge, and of the fear of the LORD—

and shall make Him prudent in the fear of the LORD. For He shall not judge after the sight of His eyes, nor rebuke by the hearing of His ears.

But with righteousness, He shall judge the lowly. And with equality, He shall rebuke for the poor of the Earth. And He shall strike the Earth with the rod of His Mouth. And with the Breath of His Lips shall He slay the wicked.

And justice shall be the belt of His loins, and faithfulness the belt of His reins.

The wolf, also, shall dwell with the lamb. And the leopard shall lie with the kid and the calf and the lion and the fat beast, together. And a little child shall lead them.

And the cow and the bear shall feed. Their young ones shall lie together. And the lion shall eat straw like the ox.

And the sucking child shall play upon the hole of the asp. And the weaned child shall put his hand upon the viper’s hole.

Then shall no one hurt or destroy in all the mountain of My Holiness. For the Earth shall be full of the knowledge of the LORD, as the waters that cover the sea.

10 And on that day the Root of Jesse which shall stand up for a sign to the people, the nations shall seek It. And His rest shall be glorious.

Hebrews 2:11-18

11 For He Who sanctifies, and those who are sanctified, are all of One. Therefore, He is not ashamed to call them brothers,

12 saying, “I will declare Your Name to My brothers. In the midst of the Church I will sing praises to You.”

13 And again, “I will put My trust in Him.” And again, “Behold, here I am, and the children whom God has given Me.”

14 So then, as the children are partakers of flesh and blood, he himself also took part with them, so that He might destroy (through death) him who had the power of death (namely, the Devil).

15 And that He might deliver all those who, for fear of death, were subject to bondage all their lifetime.

16 For He in no way took on the nature of angels, but He took on the seed of Abraham.

17 Therefore it was fitting for him to be made like his brothers in all things, so that He might be merciful, and a faithful High Priest in things concerning God, to make reconciliation for the sins of the people.

18 For in that he suffered, and was tempted, He is able to help those who are tempted.
