Psalm 20-21

We Will Boast in the Name of Yahweh

For the choir director. A Psalm of David.

20 May Yahweh answer you (A)in the day of distress!
May the (B)name of the (C)God of Jacob set you securely on high!
May He send you help (D)from the sanctuary
And (E)uphold you from Zion!
May He (F)remember all your meal offerings
And (G)find your burnt offering [a]acceptable! [b]Selah.

May He grant you your (H)heart’s desire
And (I)fulfill all your [c]counsel!
[d]We will (J)sing for joy over your salvation,
And in the name of our God we will (K)set up our banners.
May Yahweh (L)fulfill all your petitions.

Now (M)I know that Yahweh saves His anointed;
He will (N)answer him from His holy heaven
With the [e](O)saving might of His right hand.
Some boast in chariots and some in (P)horses,
But (Q)we will [f]boast in the name of Yahweh, our God.
They have (R)bowed down and fallen,
But we have (S)risen and stood upright.
[g](T)Save, O Yahweh;
May the (U)King answer us in the day we call.

The King Trusts in Yahweh

For the choir director. A Psalm of David.

21 O Yahweh, in Your strength the king will (V)be glad,
And in Your [h]salvation how greatly he will rejoice!
You have (W)given him his heart’s desire,
And You have not withheld the request of his lips. [i]Selah.
For You (X)meet him with the blessings of good things;
You set a (Y)crown of fine gold on his head.
He asked life of You,
You (Z)gave it to him,
(AA)Length of days forever and ever.
His (AB)glory is great through Your [j]salvation,
(AC)Splendor and majesty You bestow upon him.
For You make him [k]most (AD)blessed forever;
You make him joyful (AE)with gladness in Your presence.

For the king (AF)trusts in Yahweh,
And through the lovingkindness of the Most High (AG)he will not be shaken.
Your hand will (AH)find out all your enemies;
Your right hand will find out those who hate you.
You will make them (AI)as a fiery oven in the time of your [l]anger;
Yahweh will (AJ)swallow them up in His wrath,
And (AK)fire will devour them.
10 Their [m]offspring You will destroy from the earth,
And their (AL)seed from among the sons of men.
11 Though they [n](AM)intended evil against You
And (AN)devised a scheme,
They will not succeed.
12 For You will (AO)make them turn their back;
You will [o]aim (AP)with Your bowstrings at their faces.
13 Be exalted, O Yahweh, in Your strength;
We will (AQ)sing and praise Your might.

Psalm 110

You Are a Priest Forever

Of David. A Psalm.

110 (A)Yahweh says to my Lord:
(B)Sit at My right hand
Until I put (C)Your enemies as a footstool for Your feet.”
Yahweh will stretch forth Your strong (D)scepter from Zion, saying,
(E)Have dominion in the midst of Your enemies.”
Your (F)people [a]will offer themselves freely in the day of Your [b]power;
(G)In the splendor of holiness, from the womb of the dawn,
The (H)dew of Your youthfulness will be Yours.

(I)Yahweh has sworn and will (J)not [c]change His mind,
“You are a (K)priest forever
According to the order of Melchizedek.”
The Lord is (L)at Your right hand;
He [d]will (M)crush kings in the (N)day of His anger.
He will (O)render justice among the nations,
He [e]will fill them with (P)corpses,
He [f]will (Q)crush the [g]head that is over the wide earth.
He will (R)drink from the brook by the wayside;
Therefore He will (S)lift up His head.

Psalm 116-117

I Love Yahweh

116 (A)I love Yahweh, because He (B)hears
My voice and my supplications.
Because He has (C)inclined His ear to me,
So I shall call upon Him in all my days.
The (D)cords of death encompassed me
And the [a]distresses of Sheol found me;
I found distress and sorrow.
Then (E)I called upon the name of Yahweh:
“O Yahweh, I beseech You, [b](F)provide my soul escape!”

(G)Gracious is Yahweh, and (H)righteous;
And our God is (I)compassionate.
Yahweh keeps (J)the simple;
I was (K)brought low, and He saved me.
Return to your (L)rest, O my soul,
For Yahweh has (M)dealt bountifully with you.
For You have (N)rescued my soul from death,
My eyes from tears,
My feet from stumbling.
I shall walk before Yahweh
In the [c](O)land of the living.
10 I (P)believed when I said,
“I am (Q)greatly afflicted.”
11 I (R)said in my alarm,
(S)All men are liars.”

12 What shall I (T)give to Yahweh in return
For all His (U)bountiful dealings [d]with me?
13 I shall lift up the (V)cup of [e]salvation
And (W)call upon the name of Yahweh.
14 I shall (X)pay my vows to Yahweh,
Oh may it be (Y)in the presence of all His people.
15 (Z)Precious in the sight of Yahweh
Is the death of His holy ones.
16 O Yahweh, [f]surely I am (AA)Your slave,
I am Your slave, the (AB)son of Your maidservant,
You have (AC)loosed my bonds.
17 To You I shall offer (AD)a sacrifice of thanksgiving,
And (AE)call upon the name of Yahweh.
18 I shall (AF)pay my vows to Yahweh,
Oh may it be in the presence of all His people,
19 In the (AG)courts of the house of Yahweh,
In the midst of you, O (AH)Jerusalem.
[g]Praise Yah!

Yahweh’s Lovingkindness Prevails

117 (AI)Praise Yahweh, all nations;
Laud Him, all peoples!
For His (AJ)lovingkindness prevails over us,
And the [h](AK)truth of Yahweh is everlasting.
[i]Praise Yah!

Proverbs 25:15-28

15 (A)When one is slow to anger, a ruler may be persuaded,
And a soft tongue breaks the bone.
16 Have you (B)found honey? Eat only enough for you,
Lest you have more than your fill and vomit it.
17 Let your foot rarely be in your neighbor’s house,
Lest he have more than his fill of you and hate you.
18 Like a club and a (C)sword and a sharp (D)arrow
Is a man who bears [a](E)false witness against his neighbor.
19 Like [b]an aching tooth and a slipping foot
Is trust in a (F)treacherous man in a day of distress.
20 Like one who takes off a garment on a cold day, or like vinegar on [c]soda,
Is he who sings songs to [d]an aching heart.
21 (G)If [e]your enemy is hungry, give him food to eat;
And if he is thirsty, give him water to drink;
22 For you will [f]heap burning coals on his head,
And (H)Yahweh will repay you.
23 The north wind brings forth rain,
And a (I)tongue of secrets, an indignant face.
24 It is (J)better to live in a corner of the roof
Than [g]in a house shared with a contentious woman.
25 Like cold water to a weary soul,
So is a (K)good report from a distant land.
26 Like a (L)muddied spring and a corrupted well
Is a righteous man shaking before the wicked.
27 To eat too much honey is not good,
Nor is it glory to (M)search out [h]one’s own glory.
28 Like a (N)city that is broken into and without a wall
Is a man (O)without restraint over his spirit.

Philippians 1:1-11

Thanksgiving

(A)Paul and (B)Timothy, (C)slaves of (D)Christ Jesus,

To (E)all the [a](F)saints in Christ Jesus who are in (G)Philippi, with the (H)overseers and (I)deacons: (J)Grace to you and peace from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.

(K)I thank my God in all my remembrance of you, always offering prayer with joy in (L)my every prayer for you all, because of your [b](M)fellowship in the (N)gospel (O)from the first day until now. For I am confident of this very thing, that He who began a good work in you will perfect it until (P)the day of Christ Jesus. [c]For (Q)it is only right for me to think this way about you all, because I (R)have you in my heart, since both in my (S)chains and in the (T)defense and confirmation of the (U)gospel, you all are fellow partakers with me in this grace. For (V)God is my witness, how I long for you all with the [d]affection of (W)Christ Jesus. And this I pray, that (X)your love may abound still more and more in (Y)full knowledge and all discernment, 10 so that you may [e](Z)approve the things that are excellent, in order to be sincere and without fault [f]until (AA)the day of Christ, 11 having been filled with the (AB)fruit of righteousness which comes through Jesus Christ, to the glory and praise of God.

John 18:1-14

Jesus Betrayed and Arrested

18 When Jesus had spoken these words, (A)He went forth with His disciples to the other side of (B)the Kidron Valley, where there was (C)a garden, into which He entered [a]with His disciples. Now Judas also, who was [b]betraying Him, knew the place, for Jesus had (D)often gathered there with His disciples. (E)Judas then, having received (F)the Roman [c]cohort and (G)officers from the chief priests and the Pharisees, *came there with lanterns and (H)torches and weapons. So Jesus, (I)knowing all the things that were coming upon Him, went forth and *said to them, (J)Whom do you seek?” They answered Him, “Jesus the Nazarene.” He *said to them, “I am He.” And Judas also, who was betraying Him, was standing with them. So when He said to them, “I am He,” they drew back and fell to the ground. Therefore He again asked them, (K)Whom do you seek?” And they said, “Jesus the Nazarene.” Jesus answered, “I told you that I am He; so if you seek Me, let these go their way,” in order that the word which He spoke would be fulfilled, (L)Of those whom You have given Me, I lost not one.” 10 Simon Peter then, (M)having a sword, drew it and struck the high priest’s slave, and cut off his right ear; and the slave’s name was Malchus. 11 So Jesus said to Peter, “Put the sword into the sheath; (N)the cup which the Father has given Me, shall I not drink it?”

Jesus Before the Priests; Peter Denies Jesus

12 (O)So (P)the Roman [d]cohort and the [e]commander and the (Q)officers of the Jews, arrested Jesus and bound Him, 13 and led Him to (R)Annas first; for he was father-in-law of (S)Caiaphas, who was high priest that year. 14 Now Caiaphas was the one who had advised the Jews that (T)it was better for one man to die on behalf of the people.
