  1. And the Lord said, “Behold, they are one people, and they have all one language, and this is only the beginning of what they will do. And nothing that they propose to do will now be impossible for them.
  2. and when the Egyptians see you, they will say, ‘This is his wife.’ Then they will kill me, but they will let you live.
  3. Then the Lord said to Abram, “Know for certain that your offspring will be sojourners in a land that is not theirs and will be servants there, and they will be afflicted for four hundred years.
  4. Abraham said, “I did it because I thought, ‘There is no fear of God at all in this place, and they will kill me because of my wife.’
  5. Then you will be free from my oath, when you come to my clan. And if they will not give her to you, you will be free from my oath.’
  6. Will not their livestock, their property and all their beasts be ours? Only let us agree with them, and they will dwell with us.”
  7. And they will listen to your voice, and you and the elders of Israel shall go to the king of Egypt and say to him, ‘The Lord, the God of the Hebrews, has met with us; and now, please let us go a three days' journey into the wilderness, that we may sacrifice to the Lord our God.’
  8. Moses Given Powerful Signs

    Then Moses answered, “But behold, they will not believe me or listen to my voice, for they will say, ‘The Lord did not appear to you.’”
  9. “If they will not believe you,” God said, “or listen to the first sign, they may believe the latter sign.
  10. If they will not believe even these two signs or listen to your voice, you shall take some water from the Nile and pour it on the dry ground, and the water that you shall take from the Nile will become blood on the dry ground.”
  11. Then the Lord said to Moses, “Behold, I am about to rain bread from heaven for you, and the people shall go out and gather a day's portion every day, that I may test them, whether they will walk in my law or not.
  12. And let them judge the people at all times. Every great matter they shall bring to you, but any small matter they shall decide themselves. So it will be easier for you, and they will bear the burden with you.
  13. neither shall you offer as the bread of your God any such animals gotten from a foreigner. Since there is a blemish in them, because of their mutilation, they will not be accepted for you.”
  14. and they will tell the inhabitants of this land. They have heard that you, O Lord, are in the midst of this people. For you, O Lord, are seen face to face, and your cloud stands over them and you go before them, in a pillar of cloud by day and in a pillar of fire by night.
  15. However, if they will not pass over with you armed, they shall have possessions among you in the land of Canaan.”
  16. and command the people, “You are about to pass through the territory of your brothers, the people of Esau, who live in Seir; and they will be afraid of you. So be very careful.
  17. And the Lord said to Moses, “Behold, you are about to lie down with your fathers. Then this people will rise and whore after the foreign gods among them in the land that they are entering, and they will forsake me and break my covenant that I have made with them.
  18. Then my anger will be kindled against them in that day, and I will forsake them and hide my face from them, and they will be devoured. And many evils and troubles will come upon them, so that they will say in that day, ‘Have not these evils come upon us because our God is not among us?’
  19. For when I have brought them into the land flowing with milk and honey, which I swore to give to their fathers, and they have eaten and are full and grown fat, they will turn to other gods and serve them, and despise me and break my covenant.
  20. Remember the days of old; consider the years of many generations; ask your father, and he will show you, your elders, and they will tell you.
  21. And they will come out after us, until we have drawn them away from the city. For they will say, ‘They are fleeing from us, just as before.’ So we will flee before them.
  22. in order to test Israel by them, whether they will take care to walk in the way of the Lord as their fathers did, or not.”
  23. When you depart from me today, you will meet two men by Rachel's tomb in the territory of Benjamin at Zelzah, and they will say to you, ‘The donkeys that you went to seek are found, and now your father has ceased to care about the donkeys and is anxious about you, saying, “What shall I do about my son?”’
  24. And they will greet you and give you two loaves of bread, which you shall accept from their hand.
  25. Then David said, “Will the men of Keilah surrender me and my men into the hand of Saul?” And the Lord said, “They will surrender you.”
  26. Ask your young men, and they will tell you. Therefore let my young men find favor in your eyes, for we come on a feast day. Please give whatever you have at hand to your servants and to your son David.’”
  27. But the men said, “You shall not go out. For if we flee, they will not care about us. If half of us die, they will not care about us. But you are worth ten thousand of us. Therefore it is better that you send us help from the city.”
  28. And this house will become a heap of ruins. Everyone passing by it will be astonished and will hiss, and they will say, ‘Why has the Lord done thus to this land and to this house?’
  29. Then they will say, ‘Because they abandoned the Lord their God who brought their fathers out of the land of Egypt and laid hold on other gods and worshiped them and served them. Therefore the Lord has brought all this disaster on them.’”
  30. from the nations concerning which the Lord had said to the people of Israel, “You shall not enter into marriage with them, neither shall they with you, for surely they will turn away your heart after their gods.” Solomon clung to these in love.
  31. And they said to him, “If you will be a servant to this people today and serve them, and speak good words to them when you answer them, then they will be your servants forever.”
  32. If this people go up to offer sacrifices in the temple of the Lord at Jerusalem, then the heart of this people will turn again to their lord, to Rehoboam king of Judah, and they will kill me and return to Rehoboam king of Judah.”
  33. And I will not cause the feet of Israel to wander anymore out of the land that I gave to their fathers, if only they will be careful to do according to all that I have commanded them, and according to all the Law that my servant Moses commanded them.”
  34. Then they will say, ‘Because they abandoned the Lord, the God of their fathers who brought them out of the land of Egypt, and laid hold on other gods and worshiped them and served them. Therefore he has brought all this disaster on them.’”
  35. And they said to him, “If you will be good to this people and please them and speak good words to them, then they will be your servants forever.”
  36. And when he had come to the king, the king said to him, “Micaiah, shall we go to Ramoth-gilead to battle, or shall I refrain?” And he answered, “Go up and triumph; they will be given into your hand.”
  37. Tomorrow go down against them. Behold, they will come up by the ascent of Ziz. You will find them at the end of the valley, east of the wilderness of Jeruel.
  38. and I will no more remove the foot of Israel from the land that I appointed for your fathers, if only they will be careful to do all that I have commanded them, all the law, the statutes, and the rules given through Moses.”
  39. Now be it known to the king that if this city is rebuilt and the walls finished, they will not pay tribute, custom, or toll, and the royal revenue will be impaired.
  40. And our enemies said, “They will not know or see till we come among them and kill them and stop the work.”
  41. For the queen's behavior will be made known to all women, causing them to look at their husbands with contempt, since they will say, ‘King Ahasuerus commanded Queen Vashti to be brought before him, and she did not come.’
  42. “But ask the beasts, and they will teach you; the birds of the heavens, and they will tell you;
  43. or the bushes of the earth, and they will teach you; and the fish of the sea will declare to you.
  44. Though they plan evil against you, though they devise mischief, they will not succeed.
  45. For they will soon fade like the grass and wither like the green herb.
  46. When the humble see it they will be glad; you who seek God, let your hearts revive.
  47. On their hands they will bear you up, lest you strike your foot against a stone.
  48. They will perish, but you will remain; they will all wear out like a garment. You will change them like a robe, and they will pass away,
  49. Grant not, O Lord, the desires of the wicked; do not further their evil plot, or they will be exalted! Selah
  50. Then they will call upon me, but I will not answer; they will seek me diligently but will not find me.
  51. for length of days and years of life and peace they will add to you.
  52. and they will be life for your soul and adornment for your neck.
  53. When you walk, they will lead you; when you lie down, they will watch over you; and when you awake, they will talk with you.
  54. For the living know that they will die, but the dead know nothing, and they have no more reward, for the memory of them is forgotten.
  55. They will growl over it on that day, like the growling of the sea. And if one looks to the land, behold, darkness and distress; and the light is darkened by its clouds.
  56. And they will all come and settle in the steep ravines, and in the clefts of the rocks, and on all the thornbushes, and on all the pastures.
  57. And as for all the hills that used to be hoed with a hoe, you will not come there for fear of briers and thorns, but they will become a place where cattle are let loose and where sheep tread.
  58. To the teaching and to the testimony! If they will not speak according to this word, it is because they have no dawn.
  59. They will pass through the land, greatly distressed and hungry. And when they are hungry, they will be enraged and will speak contemptuously against their king and their God, and turn their faces upward.
  60. And they will look to the earth, but behold, distress and darkness, the gloom of anguish. And they will be thrust into thick darkness.
  61. They will be dismayed: pangs and agony will seize them; they will be in anguish like a woman in labor. They will look aghast at one another; their faces will be aflame.
  62. Their bows will slaughter the young men; they will have no mercy on the fruit of the womb; their eyes will not pity children.
  63. And the peoples will take them and bring them to their place, and the house of Israel will possess them in the Lord's land as male and female slaves. They will take captive those who were their captors, and rule over those who oppressed them.
  64. The cities of Aroer are deserted; they will be for flocks, which will lie down, and none will make them afraid.
  65. The nations roar like the roaring of many waters, but he will rebuke them, and they will flee far away, chased like chaff on the mountains before the wind and whirling dust before the storm.
  66. And I will stir up Egyptians against Egyptians, and they will fight, each against another and each against his neighbor, city against city, kingdom against kingdom;
  67. and the spirit of the Egyptians within them will be emptied out, and I will confound their counsel; and they will inquire of the idols and the sorcerers, and the mediums and the necromancers;
  68. The fishermen will mourn and lament, all who cast a hook in the Nile; and they will languish who spread nets on the water.
  69. The Lord has mingled within her a spirit of confusion, and they will make Egypt stagger in all its deeds, as a drunken man staggers in his vomit.
  70. And the Lord will make himself known to the Egyptians, and the Egyptians will know the Lord in that day and worship with sacrifice and offering, and they will make vows to the Lord and perform them.
  71. And the Lord will strike Egypt, striking and healing, and they will return to the Lord, and he will listen to their pleas for mercy and heal them.
  72. And they will hang on him the whole honor of his father's house, the offspring and issue, every small vessel, from the cups to all the flagons.
  73. When the report comes to Egypt, they will be in anguish over the report about Tyre.
  74. They will be gathered together as prisoners in a pit; they will be shut up in a prison, and after many days they will be punished.
  75. They are dead, they will not live; they are shades, they will not arise; to that end you have visited them with destruction and wiped out all remembrance of them.
  76. For when he sees his children, the work of my hands, in his midst, they will sanctify my name; they will sanctify the Holy One of Jacob and will stand in awe of the God of Israel.
  77. The Egyptians are man, and not God, and their horses are flesh, and not spirit. When the Lord stretches out his hand, the helper will stumble, and he who is helped will fall, and they will all perish together.
  78. O Lord, Be Gracious to Us

    Ah, you destroyer, who yourself have not been destroyed, you traitor, whom none has betrayed! When you have ceased to destroy, you will be destroyed; and when you have finished betraying, they will betray you.
  79. Your eyes will behold the king in his beauty; they will see a land that stretches afar.
  80. The Lord, the Only Savior

    Thus says the Lord: “The wealth of Egypt and the merchandise of Cush, and the Sabeans, men of stature, shall come over to you and be yours; they shall follow you; they shall come over in chains and bow down to you. They will plead with you, saying: ‘Surely God is in you, and there is no other, no god besides him.’”
  81. I will declare your righteousness and your deeds, but they will not profit you.
  82. They will fight against you, but they shall not prevail against you, for I am with you, declares the Lord, to deliver you.”
  83. a wild donkey used to the wilderness, in her heat sniffing the wind! Who can restrain her lust? None who seek her need weary themselves; in her month they will find her.
  84. “So you shall speak all these words to them, but they will not listen to you. You shall call to them, but they will not answer you.

  86. And it shall come to pass, if they will diligently learn the ways of my people, to swear by my name, ‘As the Lord lives,’ even as they taught my people to swear by Baal, then they shall be built up in the midst of my people.
  87. The Jars Filled with Wine

    “You shall speak to them this word: ‘Thus says the Lord, the God of Israel, “Every jar shall be filled with wine.”’ And they will say to you, ‘Do we not indeed know that every jar will be filled with wine?’
  88. And I will make you to this people a fortified wall of bronze; they will fight against you, but they shall not prevail over you, for I am with you to save you and deliver you, declares the Lord.
  89. Like the partridge that gathers a brood that she did not hatch, so is he who gets riches but not by justice; in the midst of his days they will leave him, and at his end he will be a fool.
  90. But the Lord is with me as a dread warrior; therefore my persecutors will stumble; they will not overcome me. They will be greatly shamed, for they will not succeed. Their eternal dishonor will never be forgotten.
  91. And they will answer, “Because they have forsaken the covenant of the Lord their God and worshiped other gods and served them.”’”
  92. But to the land to which they will long to return, there they shall not return.”
  93. It may be they will listen, and every one turn from his evil way, that I may relent of the disaster that I intend to do to them because of their evil deeds.
  94. Behold, I will command, declares the Lord, and will bring them back to this city. And they will fight against it and take it and burn it with fire. I will make the cities of Judah a desolation without inhabitant.”
  95. Thus says the Lord, Do not deceive yourselves, saying, “The Chaldeans will surely go away from us,” for they will not go away.
  96. And whether they hear or refuse to hear (for they are a rebellious house) they will know that a prophet has been among them.
  97. I will send famine and wild beasts against you, and they will rob you of your children. Pestilence and blood shall pass through you, and I will bring the sword upon you. I am the Lord; I have spoken.”
  98. then those of you who escape will remember me among the nations where they are carried captive, how I have been broken over their whoring heart that has departed from me and over their eyes that go whoring after their idols. And they will be loathsome in their own sight for the evils that they have committed, for all their abominations.
  99. And I will stretch out my hand against them and make the land desolate and waste, in all their dwelling places, from the wilderness to Riblah. Then they will know that I am the Lord.”
  100. And if any survivors escape, they will be on the mountains, like doves of the valleys, all of them moaning, each one over his iniquity.
  101. When anguish comes, they will seek peace, but there shall be none.
  102. And when they come there, they will remove from it all its detestable things and all its abominations.
  103. As for you, son of man, prepare for yourself an exile's baggage, and go into exile by day in their sight. You shall go like an exile from your place to another place in their sight. Perhaps they will understand, though they are a rebellious house.
  104. They will console you, when you see their ways and their deeds, and you shall know that I have not done without cause all that I have done in it, declares the Lord God.”
  105. “Then I said of her who was worn out by adultery, ‘Now they will continue to use her for a whore, even her!’
  106. On that day your mouth will be opened to the fugitive, and you shall speak and be no longer mute. So you will be a sign to them, and they will know that I am the Lord.”
  107. and I will execute judgments upon Moab. Then they will know that I am the Lord.
  108. I will execute great vengeance on them with wrathful rebukes. Then they will know that I am the Lord, when I lay my vengeance upon them.”
  109. and her daughters on the mainland shall be killed by the sword. Then they will know that I am the Lord.
  110. They will plunder your riches and loot your merchandise. They will break down your walls and destroy your pleasant houses. Your stones and timber and soil they will cast into the midst of the waters.
  111. Then all the princes of the sea will step down from their thrones and remove their robes and strip off their embroidered garments. They will clothe themselves with trembling; they will sit on the ground and tremble every moment and be appalled at you.
  112. And they will raise a lamentation over you and say to you, “‘How you have perished, you who were inhabited from the seas, O city renowned, who was mighty on the sea; she and her inhabitants imposed their terror on all her inhabitants!
  113. for I will send pestilence into her, and blood into her streets; and the slain shall fall in her midst, by the sword that is against her on every side. Then they will know that I am the Lord.
  114. “And for the house of Israel there shall be no more a brier to prick or a thorn to hurt them among all their neighbors who have treated them with contempt. Then they will know that I am the Lord God.
  115. And they shall dwell securely in it, and they shall build houses and plant vineyards. They shall dwell securely, when I execute judgments upon all their neighbors who have treated them with contempt. Then they will know that I am the Lord their God.”
  116. and the land of Egypt shall be a desolation and a waste. Then they will know that I am the Lord. “Because you said, ‘The Nile is mine, and I made it,’
  117. It shall be the most lowly of the kingdoms, and never again exalt itself above the nations. And I will make them so small that they will never again rule over the nations.
  118. And it shall never again be the reliance of the house of Israel, recalling their iniquity, when they turn to them for aid. Then they will know that I am the Lord God.”
  119. “On that day I will cause a horn to spring up for the house of Israel, and I will open your lips among them. Then they will know that I am the Lord.”
  120. Then they will know that I am the Lord, when I have set fire to Egypt, and all her helpers are broken.
  121. Thus I will execute judgments on Egypt. Then they will know that I am the Lord.”
  122. And I will scatter the Egyptians among the nations and disperse them throughout the countries. Then they will know that I am the Lord.”
  123. Thus says the Lord God: I will throw my net over you with a host of many peoples, and they will haul you up in my dragnet.
  124. When I make the land of Egypt desolate, and when the land is desolate of all that fills it, when I strike down all who dwell in it, then they will know that I am the Lord.
  125. Then they will know that I am the Lord, when I have made the land a desolation and a waste because of all their abominations that they have committed.
  126. And they come to you as people come, and they sit before you as my people, and they hear what you say but they will not do it; for with lustful talk in their mouths they act; their heart is set on their gain.
  127. And behold, you are to them like one who sings lustful songs with a beautiful voice and plays well on an instrument, for they hear what you say, but they will not do it.
  128. When this comes—and come it will!—then they will know that a prophet has been among them.”
  129. As you rejoiced over the inheritance of the house of Israel, because it was desolate, so I will deal with you; you shall be desolate, Mount Seir, and all Edom, all of it. Then they will know that I am the Lord.
  130. “But you, O mountains of Israel, shall shoot forth your branches and yield your fruit to my people Israel, for they will soon come home.
  131. And they will say, ‘This land that was desolate has become like the garden of Eden, and the waste and desolate and ruined cities are now fortified and inhabited.’
  132. Like the flock for sacrifices, like the flock at Jerusalem during her appointed feasts, so shall the waste cities be filled with flocks of people. Then they will know that I am the Lord.”
  133. So I will show my greatness and my holiness and make myself known in the eyes of many nations. Then they will know that I am the Lord.
  134. “Then those who dwell in the cities of Israel will go out and make fires of the weapons and burn them, shields and bucklers, bow and arrows, clubs and spears; and they will make fires of them for seven years,
  135. so that they will not need to take wood out of the field or cut down any out of the forests, for they will make their fires of the weapons. They will seize the spoil of those who despoiled them, and plunder those who plundered them, declares the Lord God.
  136. They will set apart men to travel through the land regularly and bury those travelers remaining on the face of the land, so as to cleanse it. At the end of seven months they will make their search.
  137. And on the banks, on both sides of the river, there will grow all kinds of trees for food. Their leaves will not wither, nor their fruit fail, but they will bear fresh fruit every month, because the water for them flows from the sanctuary. Their fruit will be for food, and their leaves for healing.”
  138. As you saw the iron mixed with soft clay, so they will mix with one another in marriage, but they will not hold together, just as iron does not mix with clay.
  139. With their flocks and herds they shall go to seek the Lord, but they will not find him; he has withdrawn from them.
  140. For now they will say: “We have no king, for we do not fear the Lord; and a king—what could he do for us?”
  141. I will sell your sons and your daughters into the hand of the people of Judah, and they will sell them to the Sabeans, to a nation far away, for the Lord has spoken.”
  142. Then they will cry to the Lord, but he will not answer them; he will hide his face from them at that time, because they have made their deeds evil.
  143. In that day they will come to you, from Assyria and the cities of Egypt, and from Egypt to the River, from sea to sea and from mountain to mountain.
  144. Thus says the Lord, “Though they are at full strength and many, they will be cut down and pass away. Though I have afflicted you, I will afflict you no more.
  145. He said to me, “To the land of Shinar, to build a house for it. And when this is prepared, they will set the basket down there on its base.”
  146. And I will put this third into the fire, and refine them as one refines silver, and test them as gold is tested. They will call upon my name, and I will answer them. I will say, ‘They are my people’; and they will say, ‘The Lord is my God.’”
  147. If Edom says, “We are shattered but we will rebuild the ruins,” the Lord of hosts says, “They may build, but I will tear down, and they will be called ‘the wicked country,’ and ‘the people with whom the Lord is angry forever.’”
  148. He will sit as a refiner and purifier of silver, and he will purify the sons of Levi and refine them like gold and silver, and they will bring offerings in righteousness to the Lord.
  149. And you shall tread down the wicked, for they will be ashes under the soles of your feet, on the day when I act, says the Lord of hosts.
  150. and said to him, “If you are the Son of God, throw yourself down, for it is written, “‘He will command his angels concerning you,’ and “‘On their hands they will bear you up, lest you strike your foot against a stone.’”
  151. “And when you pray, do not heap up empty phrases as the Gentiles do, for they think that they will be heard for their many words.
  152. And Jesus said to them, “Can the wedding guests mourn as long as the bridegroom is with them? The days will come when the bridegroom is taken away from them, and then they will fast.
  153. Beware of men, for they will deliver you over to courts and flog you in their synagogues,
  154. And if I cast out demons by Beelzebul, by whom do your sons cast them out? Therefore they will be your judges.
  155. The Son of Man will send his angels, and they will gather out of his kingdom all causes of sin and all law-breakers,
  156. and they will kill him, and he will be raised on the third day.” And they were greatly distressed.
  157. “See, we are going up to Jerusalem. And the Son of Man will be delivered over to the chief priests and scribes, and they will condemn him to death
  158. Finally he sent his son to them, saying, ‘They will respect my son.’
  159. For many will come in my name, saying, ‘I am the Christ,’ and they will lead many astray.
  160. “Then they will deliver you up to tribulation and put you to death, and you will be hated by all nations for my name's sake.
  161. Then will appear in heaven the sign of the Son of Man, and then all the tribes of the earth will mourn, and they will see the Son of Man coming on the clouds of heaven with power and great glory.
  162. And he will send out his angels with a loud trumpet call, and they will gather his elect from the four winds, from one end of heaven to the other.
  163. Then Jesus said to them, “Do not be afraid; go and tell my brothers to go to Galilee, and there they will see me.”
  164. The days will come when the bridegroom is taken away from them, and then they will fast in that day.
  165. And if any place will not receive you and they will not listen to you, when you leave, shake off the dust that is on your feet as a testimony against them.”
  166. And if I send them away hungry to their homes, they will faint on the way. And some of them have come from far away.”
  167. for he was teaching his disciples, saying to them, “The Son of Man is going to be delivered into the hands of men, and they will kill him. And when he is killed, after three days he will rise.”
  168. saying, “See, we are going up to Jerusalem, and the Son of Man will be delivered over to the chief priests and the scribes, and they will condemn him to death and deliver him over to the Gentiles.
  169. And they will mock him and spit on him, and flog him and kill him. And after three days he will rise.”
  170. He had still one other, a beloved son. Finally he sent him to them, saying, ‘They will respect my son.’
  171. who devour widows' houses and for a pretense make long prayers. They will receive the greater condemnation.”
  172. Many will come in my name, saying, ‘I am he!’ and they will lead many astray.
  173. “But be on your guard. For they will deliver you over to councils, and you will be beaten in synagogues, and you will stand before governors and kings for my sake, to bear witness before them.
  174. And then they will see the Son of Man coming in clouds with great power and glory.
  175. And these signs will accompany those who believe: in my name they will cast out demons; they will speak in new tongues;
  176. they will pick up serpents with their hands; and if they drink any deadly poison, it will not hurt them; they will lay their hands on the sick, and they will recover.”
  177. and “‘On their hands they will bear you up, lest you strike your foot against a stone.’”
  178. The days will come when the bridegroom is taken away from them, and then they will fast in those days.”
  179. And if I cast out demons by Beelzebul, by whom do your sons cast them out? Therefore they will be your judges.
  180. Therefore also the Wisdom of God said, ‘I will send them prophets and apostles, some of whom they will kill and persecute,’
  181. But the one who did not know, and did what deserved a beating, will receive a light beating. Everyone to whom much was given, of him much will be required, and from him to whom they entrusted much, they will demand the more.
  182. They will be divided, father against son and son against father, mother against daughter and daughter against mother, mother-in-law against her daughter-in-law and daughter-in-law against mother-in-law.”
  183. And he said, ‘No, father Abraham, but if someone goes to them from the dead, they will repent.’
  184. And they will say to you, ‘Look, there!’ or ‘Look, here!’ Do not go out or follow them.
  185. And after flogging him, they will kill him, and on the third day he will rise.”
  186. and tear you down to the ground, you and your children within you. And they will not leave one stone upon another in you, because you did not know the time of your visitation.”
  187. Then the owner of the vineyard said, ‘What shall I do? I will send my beloved son; perhaps they will respect him.’
  188. who devour widows' houses and for a pretense make long prayers. They will receive the greater condemnation.”
  189. But before all this they will lay their hands on you and persecute you, delivering you up to the synagogues and prisons, and you will be brought before kings and governors for my name's sake.
  190. You will be delivered up even by parents and brothers and relatives and friends, and some of you they will put to death.
  191. They will fall by the edge of the sword and be led captive among all nations, and Jerusalem will be trampled underfoot by the Gentiles, until the times of the Gentiles are fulfilled.
  192. And then they will see the Son of Man coming in a cloud with power and great glory.
  193. For behold, the days are coming when they will say, ‘Blessed are the barren and the wombs that never bore and the breasts that never nursed!’
  194. Then they will begin to say to the mountains, ‘Fall on us,’ and to the hills, ‘Cover us.’
  195. It is written in the Prophets, ‘And they will all be taught by God.’ Everyone who has heard and learned from the Father comes to me—
  196. A stranger they will not follow, but they will flee from him, for they do not know the voice of strangers.”
  197. And I have other sheep that are not of this fold. I must bring them also, and they will listen to my voice. So there will be one flock, one shepherd.
  198. I give them eternal life, and they will never perish, and no one will snatch them out of my hand.
  199. Remember the word that I said to you: ‘A servant is not greater than his master.’ If they persecuted me, they will also persecute you. If they kept my word, they will also keep yours.
  200. But all these things they will do to you on account of my name, because they do not know him who sent me.
  201. They will put you out of the synagogues. Indeed, the hour is coming when whoever kills you will think he is offering service to God.
  202. And they will do these things because they have not known the Father, nor me.
  203. And again another Scripture says, “They will look on him whom they have pierced.”
  204. But Peter said to her, “How is it that you have agreed together to test the Spirit of the Lord? Behold, the feet of those who have buried your husband are at the door, and they will carry you out.”
  205. But we believe that we will be saved through the grace of the Lord Jesus, just as they will.”
  206. What then is to be done? They will certainly hear that you have come.
  207. and saw him saying to me, ‘Make haste and get out of Jerusalem quickly, because they will not accept your testimony about me.’
  208. Therefore let it be known to you that this salvation of God has been sent to the Gentiles; they will listen.”
  209. “And in the very place where it was said to them, ‘You are not my people,’ there they will be called ‘sons of the living God.’”
  210. Love never ends. As for prophecies, they will pass away; as for tongues, they will cease; as for knowledge, it will pass away.
  211. In the Law it is written, “By people of strange tongues and by the lips of foreigners will I speak to this people, and even then they will not listen to me, says the Lord.”
  212. If it seems advisable that I should go also, they will accompany me.
  213. By their approval of this service, they will glorify God because of your submission that comes from your confession of the gospel of Christ, and the generosity of your contribution for them and for all others,
  214. and with him Onesimus, our faithful and beloved brother, who is one of you. They will tell you of everything that has taken place here.
  215. While people are saying, “There is peace and security,” then sudden destruction will come upon them as labor pains come upon a pregnant woman, and they will not escape.
  216. They will suffer the punishment of eternal destruction, away from the presence of the Lord and from the glory of his might,
  217. But they will not get very far, for their folly will be plain to all, as was that of those two men.
  218. For the time is coming when people will not endure sound teaching, but having itching ears they will accumulate for themselves teachers to suit their own passions,
  219. they will perish, but you remain; they will all wear out like a garment,
  220. like a robe you will roll them up, like a garment they will be changed. But you are the same, and your years will have no end.”
  221. but they will give account to him who is ready to judge the living and the dead.
  222. And in their greed they will exploit you with false words. Their condemnation from long ago is not idle, and their destruction is not asleep.
  223. They will say, “Where is the promise of his coming? For ever since the fathers fell asleep, all things are continuing as they were from the beginning of creation.”
  224. Yet you have still a few names in Sardis, people who have not soiled their garments, and they will walk with me in white, for they are worthy.
  225. Behold, I will make those of the synagogue of Satan who say that they are Jews and are not, but lie—behold, I will make them come and bow down before your feet, and they will learn that I have loved you.
  226. And in those days people will seek death and will not find it. They will long to die, but death will flee from them.
  227. but do not measure the court outside the temple; leave that out, for it is given over to the nations, and they will trample the holy city for forty-two months.
  228. And I will grant authority to my two witnesses, and they will prophesy for 1,260 days, clothed in sackcloth.”
  229. They will make war on the Lamb, and the Lamb will conquer them, for he is Lord of lords and King of kings, and those with him are called and chosen and faithful.”
  230. And the ten horns that you saw, they and the beast will hate the prostitute. They will make her desolate and naked, and devour her flesh and burn her up with fire,
  231. They will stand far off, in fear of her torment, and say, “Alas! Alas! You great city, you mighty city, Babylon! For in a single hour your judgment has come.”
  232. Blessed and holy is the one who shares in the first resurrection! Over such the second death has no power, but they will be priests of God and of Christ, and they will reign with him for a thousand years.
  233. and the devil who had deceived them was thrown into the lake of fire and sulfur where the beast and the false prophet were, and they will be tormented day and night forever and ever.
  234. And I heard a loud voice from the throne saying, “Behold, the dwelling place of God is with man. He will dwell with them, and they will be his people, and God himself will be with them as their God.
  235. They will bring into it the glory and the honor of the nations.
  236. They will see his face, and his name will be on their foreheads.
  237. And night will be no more. They will need no light of lamp or sun, for the Lord God will be their light, and they will reign forever and ever.
