Jesus went around all the towns and villages, teaching in their synagogues, announcing the good news of the kingdom, and healing every disease and every sickness.

When it was evening, the disciples came to him. “This is a deserted spot,” they said, “and it’s already getting late. Send the crowds away so that they can go into the villages and buy food for themselves.”

Their unbelief dumbfounded him. He went round the villages, teaching.

Send them away. They need to go off into the countryside and the villages and buy themselves some food.”

And wherever he went, in villages, towns or in the open country, they placed the sick in the market-places and begged him to let them touch even the hem of his garment. And all who touched it were healed.

The parable of the sower
Soon afterwards, Jesus went about in person, with the Twelve, through the towns and villages, announcing and proclaiming the good news of God’s kingdom.

So off they went, and traveled through the villages, announcing the good news and healing people everywhere.

As the day wore on, the Twelve came to Jesus. “Send the crowd away,” they said, “so that they can go into the villages and countryside nearby, find somewhere to stay, and get something to eat. We’re in quite a lonely spot here.”

Entering through the narrow door
Jesus went through the towns and villages, teaching as he went, making his way towards Jerusalem.

After Peter and John had finished bearing witness and speaking the word of the Lord, they returned to Jerusalem, announcing the good news to many Samaritan villages.
