And to Adam he said, “Because you have listened to the voice of your wife, and have eaten of the tree of which I commanded you, ‘You shall not eat of it,’ cursed is the ground because of you; in toil you shall eat of it all the days of your life;

Noah Pleases God
These are the generations of Noah. Noah was a righteous man, blameless in his generation; Noah walked with God.

But I will establish my covenant with you; and you shall come into the ark, you, your sons, your wife, and your sons’ wives with you.

Of the birds according to their kinds, and of the animals according to their kinds, of every creeping thing of the ground according to its kind, two of every sort shall come in to you, to keep them alive.

Noah did this; he did all that God commanded him.

The Great Flood
Then the Lord said to Noah, “Go into the ark, you and all your household, for I have seen that you are righteous before me in this generation.

And Noah did all that the Lord had commanded him.

two and two, male and female, went into the ark with Noah, as God had commanded Noah.

And they that entered, male and female of all flesh, went in as God had commanded him; and the Lord shut him in.
-
And they said to one another, “Come, let us make bricks, and burn them thoroughly.” And they had brick for stone, and bitumen for mortar.
-
Then they said, “Come, let us build ourselves a city, and a tower with its top in the heavens, and let us make a name for ourselves, lest we be scattered abroad upon the face of the whole earth.”

Come, let us go down, and there confuse their language, that they may not understand one another’s speech.”

And Abram took Sar′ai his wife, and Lot his brother’s son, and all their possessions which they had gathered, and the persons that they had gotten in Haran; and they set forth to go to the land of Canaan. When they had come to the land of Canaan,

Is not the whole land before you? Separate yourself from me. If you take the left hand, then I will go to the right; or if you take the right hand, then I will go to the left.”

And he believed the Lord; and he reckoned it to him as righteousness.

but I will bring judgment on the nation which they serve, and afterward they shall come out with great possessions.

And they shall come back here in the fourth generation; for the iniquity of the Amorites is not yet complete.”

And he said, “Hagar, maid of Sar′ai, where have you come from and where are you going?” She said, “I am fleeing from my mistress Sar′ai.”

I will make you exceedingly fruitful; and I will make nations of you, and kings shall come forth from you.
-
I will bless her, and moreover I will give you a son by her; I will bless her, and she shall be a mother of nations; kings of peoples shall come from her.”
-
while I fetch a morsel of bread, that you may refresh yourselves, and after that you may pass on—since you have come to your servant.” So they said, “Do as you have said.”

No, for I have chosen him, that he may charge his children and his household after him to keep the way of the Lord by doing righteousness and justice; so that the Lord may bring to Abraham what he has promised him.”

I will go down to see whether they have done altogether according to the outcry which has come to me; and if not, I will know.”
