  1. And sent forth a raven, which went out, going forth and returning, until the waters were dried up upon the earth.

  8. The bounty and providence of God, which extendeth even to the young ravens, giveth man full occasion to put his confidence in God. 37 Job confesseth and humbleth himself. Wilt thou hunt the prey for the lion? or fill the appetite of the lion’s whelps,
  9. Who prepareth for the raven his meat, when his birds cry unto God, wandering for lack of meat?
  10. Which giveth to beasts their food, and to the young ravens that cry.
  11. The eye that mocketh his father and despiseth the instruction of his mother, let the ravens of the valley pick it out, and the young eagles eat it.
  12. His head is as fine gold, his locks curled, and black as a raven.
  13. But the pelican and the hedgehog shall possess it, and the great owl, and the raven shall dwell in it, and he shall stretch out upon it the line of vanity, and the stones of emptiness.
  14. There is a conspiracy of her prophets in the midst thereof like a roaring lion, ravening the prey: they have devoured souls: they have taken the riches and precious things: they have made her many widows in the midst thereof.
  15. Her princes in the midst thereof are like wolves, ravening the prey to shed blood, and to destroy souls for their own covetous lucre.
  16. ¶ Beware of false prophets, which come to you in sheep’s clothing, but inwardly they are ravening wolves.
  17. And the Lord said to him, Indeed ye Pharisees make clean the outside of the cup, and of the platter: but the inward part is full of ravening and wickedness.
  18. Consider the ravens: for they neither sow nor reap: which neither have storehouse nor barn, and yet God feedeth them: how much more are ye better than fowls?
