  1. The Wickedness and Judgment of Man

    Now it came to pass, when men began to multiply on the face of the earth, and daughters were born to them,
  2. Therefore say to the children of Israel: ‘I am the Lord; I will bring you out from under the burdens of the Egyptians, I will rescue you from their bondage, and I will redeem you with an outstretched arm and with great judgments.
  3. But Pharaoh will not heed you, so that I may lay My hand on Egypt and bring My armies and My people, the children of Israel, out of the land of Egypt by great judgments.
  4. ‘For I will pass through the land of Egypt on that night, and will strike all the firstborn in the land of Egypt, both man and beast; and against all the gods of Egypt I will execute judgment: I am the Lord.
  5. The Law Concerning Servants

    “Now these are the judgments which you shall set before them:
  6. Whether it has gored a son or gored a daughter, according to this judgment it shall be done to him.
  7. “You shall not pervert the judgment of your poor in his dispute.
  8. So Moses came and told the people all the words of the Lord and all the judgments. And all the people answered with one voice and said, “All the words which the Lord has said we will do.”
  9. The Breastplate

    “You shall make the breastplate of judgment. Artistically woven according to the workmanship of the ephod you shall make it: of gold, blue, purple, and scarlet thread, and fine woven linen, you shall make it.
  10. “So Aaron shall bear the names of the sons of Israel on the breastplate of judgment over his heart, when he goes into the holy place, as a memorial before the Lord continually.
  11. And you shall put in the breastplate of judgment the Urim and the Thummim, and they shall be over Aaron’s heart when he goes in before the Lord. So Aaron shall bear the judgment of the children of Israel over his heart before the Lord continually.
  12. You shall observe My judgments and keep My ordinances, to walk in them: I am the Lord your God.
  13. You shall therefore keep My statutes and My judgments, which if a man does, he shall live by them: I am the Lord.
  14. You shall therefore keep My statutes and My judgments, and shall not commit any of these abominations, either any of your own nation or any stranger who dwells among you
  15. ‘You shall do no injustice in judgment. You shall not be partial to the poor, nor honor the person of the mighty. In righteousness you shall judge your neighbor.
  16. ‘You shall do no injustice in judgment, in measurement of length, weight, or volume.
  17. ‘Therefore you shall observe all My statutes and all My judgments, and perform them: I am the Lord.’ ”
  18. ‘You shall therefore keep all My statutes and all My judgments, and perform them, that the land where I am bringing you to dwell may not vomit you out.
  19. Provisions for the Seventh Year

    ‘So you shall observe My statutes and keep My judgments, and perform them; and you will dwell in the land in safety.
  20. and if you despise My statutes, or if your soul abhors My judgments, so that you do not perform all My commandments, but break My covenant,
  21. The land also shall be left empty by them, and will enjoy its sabbaths while it lies desolate without them; they will accept their guilt, because they despised My judgments and because their soul abhorred My statutes.
  22. These are the statutes and judgments and laws which the Lord made between Himself and the children of Israel on Mount Sinai by the hand of Moses.
  23. And if his father has no brothers, then you shall give his inheritance to the relative closest to him in his family, and he shall possess it.’ ” And it shall be to the children of Israel a statute of judgment, just as the Lord commanded Moses.
  24. He shall stand before Eleazar the priest, who shall inquire before the Lord for him by the judgment of the Urim. At his word they shall go out, and at his word they shall come in, he and all the children of Israel with him—all the congregation.”
  25. For the Egyptians were burying all their firstborn, whom the Lord had killed among them. Also on their gods the Lord had executed judgments.
