  1. The History of Creation

    In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth.
  2. And God called the firmament Heaven. So the evening and the morning were the second day.
  3. Then God said, “Let the waters under the heavens be gathered together into one place, and let the dry land appear”; and it was so.
  4. Then God said, “Let there be lights in the firmament of the heavens to divide the day from the night; and let them be for signs and seasons, and for days and years;

  18. Then the Lord rained brimstone and fire on Sodom and Gomorrah, from the Lord out of the heavens.
  19. And God heard the voice of the lad. Then the angel of God called to Hagar out of heaven, and said to her, “What ails you, Hagar? Fear not, for God has heard the voice of the lad where he is.
  20. But the Angel of the Lord called to him from heaven and said, “Abraham, Abraham!” So he said, “Here I am.”
  21. Then the Angel of the Lord called to Abraham a second time out of heaven,
  22. blessing I will bless you, and multiplying I will multiply your descendants as the stars of the heaven and as the sand which is on the seashore; and your descendants shall possess the gate of their enemies.
  23. and I will make you swear by the Lord, the God of heaven and the God of the earth, that you will not take a wife for my son from the daughters of the Canaanites, among whom I dwell;
  24. The Lord God of heaven, who took me from my father’s house and from the land of my family, and who spoke to me and swore to me, saying, ‘To your descendants I give this land,’ He will send His angel before you, and you shall take a wife for my son from there.
  25. And I will make your descendants multiply as the stars of heaven; I will give to your descendants all these lands; and in your seed all the nations of the earth shall be blessed;
