So Abimelech got up early in the morning and called all his servants, and told all these things in their presence; and the people were greatly frightened.

And be careful not to raise your eyes to heaven and look at the sun, the moon, and the stars, all the heavenly lights, and allow yourself to be drawn away and worship them and serve them, things which the Lord your God has allotted to all the peoples under the whole heaven.

So he said to them, “Why are you doing such things as these, the evil things that I hear from all these people?

“But who am I and who are my people that we should be able to offer as generously as this? For all things come from You, and from Your hand we have given to You.

Since I know, my God, that You put the heart to the test and delight in uprightness, I, in the integrity of my heart, have willingly offered all these things; so now with joy I have seen Your people, who are present here, make their offerings willingly to You.

So they roasted the Passover animals on the fire according to the ordinance, and they boiled the holy things in pots, in kettles, and in pans and carried them quickly to all the lay people.

Lord, by these things people live, And in all these is the life of my spirit; Restore me to health and let me live!

All the nations have gathered together So that the peoples may be assembled. Who among them can declare this And proclaim to us the former things? Let them present their witnesses so that they may be justified, Or let them hear and say, “It is true.”

‘For there will be the seed of peace: the vine will yield its fruit, the land will yield its produce, and the heavens will provide their dew; and I will give to the remnant of this people all these things as an inheritance.

And looking at them, Jesus said to them, “With people this is impossible, but with God all things are possible.”

And He said to them, “What sort of things?” And they said to Him, “Those about Jesus the Nazarene, who proved to be a prophet mighty in deed and word in the sight of God and all the people,

nor is He served by human hands, as though He needed anything, since He Himself gives to all people life and breath and all things;

So then, no one is to be boasting in people. For all things belong to you,

To the weak I became weak, that I might gain the weak; I have become all things to all people, so that I may by all means save some.

For all things are for your sakes, so that grace, having spread to more and more people, will cause thanksgiving to overflow to the glory of God.

and to enlighten all people as to what the plan of the mystery is which for ages has been hidden in God, who created all things;

Therefore, in all things He had to be made like His brothers so that He might become a merciful and faithful high priest in things pertaining to God, to make propitiation for the sins of the people.

Since all these things are to be destroyed in this way, what sort of people ought you to be in holy conduct and godliness,
