  1. And he took the book of the covenant, and read in the audience of the people: and they said, All that the Lord hath said will we do, and be obedient.
  2. And thou shalt put some of thine honour upon him, that all the congregation of the children of Israel may be obedient.
  3. When thou art in tribulation, and all these things are come upon thee, even in the latter days, if thou turn to the Lord thy God, and shalt be obedient unto his voice;

  10. And it was told king David, saying, The Lord hath blessed the house of Obed-edom, and all that pertaineth unto him, because of the ark of God. So David went and brought up the ark of God from the house of Obed-edom into the city of David with gladness.
  11. Strangers shall submit themselves unto me: as soon as they hear, they shall be obedient unto me.
  12. and Boaz begat Obed, and Obed begat Jesse,
  13. and Zabad begat Ephlal, and Ephlal begat Obed,
  14. and Obed begat Jehu, and Jehu begat Azariah,
  15. Eliel, and Obed, and Jasiel the Mesobaite.
  16. So David brought not the ark home to himself to the city of David, but carried it aside into the house of Obed-edom the Gittite.
  17. And the ark of God remained with the family of Obed-edom in his house three months. And the Lord blessed the house of Obed-edom, and all that he had.
  18. and with them their brethren of the second degree, Zechariah, Ben, and Jaaziel, and Shemiramoth, and Jehiel, and Unni, Eliab, and Benaiah, and Maaseiah, and Mattithiah, and Elipheleh, and Mikneiah, and Obed-edom, and Jeiel, the porters.
  19. and Mattithiah, and Elipheleh, and Mikneiah, and Obed-edom, and Jeiel, and Azaziah, with harps on the Sheminith to excel.
  20. And Shebaniah, and Jehoshaphat, and Nethaneel, and Amasai, and Zechariah, and Benaiah, and Eliezer, the priests, did blow with the trumpets before the ark of God: and Obed-edom and Jehiah were doorkeepers for the ark.
  21. So David, and the elders of Israel, and the captains over thousands, went to bring up the ark of the covenant of the Lord out of the house of Obed-edom with joy.
  22. Asaph the chief, and next to him Zechariah, Jeiel, and Shemiramoth, and Jehiel, and Mattithiah, and Eliab, and Benaiah, and Obed-edom: and Jeiel with psalteries and with harps; but Asaph made a sound with cymbals;
  23. and Obed-edom with their brethren, threescore and eight; Obed-edom also the son of Jeduthun and Hosah to be porters:
  24. Moreover the sons of Obed-edom were, Shemaiah the firstborn, Jehozabad the second, Joah the third, and Sacar the fourth, and Nethaneel the fifth,
  25. The sons of Shemaiah; Othni, and Rephael, and Obed, Elzabad, whose brethren were strong men, Elihu, and Semachiah.
  26. All these of the sons of Obed-edom: they and their sons and their brethren, able men for strength for the service, were threescore and two of Obed-edom.
  27. To Obed-edom southward; and to his sons the house of Asuppim.
  28. And in the seventh year Jehoiada strengthened himself, and took the captains of hundreds, Azariah the son of Jeroham, and Ishmael the son of Jehohanan, and Azariah the son of Obed, and Maaseiah the son of Adaiah, and Elishaphat the son of Zichri, into covenant with him.
  29. And he took all the gold and the silver, and all the vessels that were found in the house of God with Obed-edom, and the treasures of the king’s house, the hostages also, and returned to Samaria.
  30. As an earring of gold, and an ornament of fine gold, so is a wise reprover upon an obedient ear.
  31. If ye be willing and obedient, ye shall eat the good of the land:
  32. Who gave Jacob for a spoil, and Israel to the robbers? did not the Lord, he against whom we have sinned? for they would not walk in his ways, neither were they obedient unto his law.
  33. and Salmon begat Booz of Rachab; and Booz begat Obed of Ruth; and Obed begat Jesse;
  34. which was the son of Jesse, which was the son of Obed, which was the son of Booz, which was the son of Salmon, which was the son of Naasson,
  35. And the word of God increased; and the number of the disciples multiplied in Jerusalem greatly; and a great company of the priests were obedient to the faith.
  36. by whom we have received grace and apostleship, for obedience to the faith among all nations, for his name:
  37. For as by one man’s disobedience many were made sinners, so by the obedience of one shall many be made righteous.
  38. Know ye not, that to whom ye yield yourselves servants to obey, his servants ye are to whom ye obey; whether of sin unto death, or of obedience unto righteousness?
  39. For I will not dare to speak of any of those things which Christ hath not wrought by me, to make the Gentiles obedient, by word and deed,
  40. For your obedience is come abroad unto all men. I am glad therefore on your behalf: but yet I would have you wise unto that which is good, and simple concerning evil.
  41. but now is made manifest, and by the scriptures of the prophets, according to the commandment of the everlasting God, made known to all nations for the obedience of faith:
  42. Let your women keep silence in the churches: for it is not permitted unto them to speak; but they are commanded to be under obedience, as also saith the law.
  43. For to this end also did I write, that I might know the proof of you, whether ye be obedient in all things.
  44. And his inward affection is more abundant toward you, whilst he remembereth the obedience of you all, how with fear and trembling ye received him.
  45. casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ;
  46. and having in a readiness to revenge all disobedience, when your obedience is fulfilled.
  47. Servants, be obedient to them that are your masters according to the flesh, with fear and trembling, in singleness of your heart, as unto Christ;
  48. and being found in fashion as a man, he humbled himself, and became obedient unto death, even the death of the cross.
  49. to be discreet, chaste, keepers at home, good, obedient to their own husbands, that the word of God be not blasphemed.
  50. Exhort servants to be obedient unto their own masters, and to please them well in all things; not answering again;
  51. Having confidence in thy obedience I wrote unto thee, knowing that thou wilt also do more than I say.
  52. though he were a Son, yet learned he obedience by the things which he suffered;
  53. elect according to the foreknowledge of God the Father, through sanctification of the Spirit, unto obedience and sprinkling of the blood of Jesus Christ: Grace unto you, and peace, be multiplied.
