  1. Bring in the table and set out what belongs on it. Then bring in the lampstand and set up its lamps.
  2. He placed the lampstand in the tent of meeting opposite the table on the south side of the tabernacle

  9. Setting Up the Lamps

    The Lord said to Moses,
  10. “Speak to Aaron and say to him, ‘When you set up the lamps, see that all seven light up the area in front of the lampstand.’”
  11. Aaron did so; he set up the lamps so that they faced forward on the lampstand, just as the Lord commanded Moses.
  12. This is how the lampstand was made: It was made of hammered gold—from its base to its blossoms. The lampstand was made exactly like the pattern the Lord had shown Moses.
  13. The lamp of God had not yet gone out, and Samuel was lying down in the house of the Lord, where the ark of God was.
  14. But Abishai son of Zeruiah came to David’s rescue; he struck the Philistine down and killed him. Then David’s men swore to him, saying, “Never again will you go out with us to battle, so that the lamp of Israel will not be extinguished.”
