  13. So they made a treaty at Beer Sheba; then Abimelech and Phicol, the commander of his army, returned to the land of the Philistines.
  14. The servant asked him, “What if the woman is not willing to come back with me to this land? Must I then take your son back to the land from which you came?”
  15. But if the woman is not willing to come back with you, you will be free from this oath of mine. But you must not take my son back there!”
  16. Here I am, standing by the spring, and the daughters of the people who live in the town are coming out to draw water.
  17. Laban said to him, “Come, you who are blessed by the Lord! Why are you standing out here when I have prepared the house and a place for the camels?”
  18. Then Isaac brought Rebekah into his mother Sarah’s tent. He took her as his wife and loved her. So Isaac was comforted after his mother’s death.
  19. All this will come to pass because Abraham obeyed me and kept my charge, my commandments, my statutes, and my laws.”
  20. So Abimelech commanded all the people, “Whoever touches this man or his wife will surely be put to death.”
  21. Now Abimelech had come to him from Gerar along with Ahuzzah his friend and Phicol the commander of his army.
  22. Isaac asked them, “Why have you come to me? You hate me and sent me away from you.”
  23. Then Isaac said to Jacob, “Come closer so I can touch you, my son, and know for certain if you really are my son Esau.”
  24. Then his father Isaac said to him, “Come here and kiss me, my son.”
  25. So Isaac called for Jacob and blessed him. Then he commanded him, “You must not marry a Canaanite woman!
