God’s Power and Justice

I will give thanks to the Lord with my whole heart; I will tell of all your wonderful deeds.

Give justice to the weak and the orphan; maintain the right of the lowly and the destitute.

I will sing of loyalty and of justice; to you, O Lord, I will sing.

and a spirit of justice to the one who sits in judgment and strength to those who turn back the battle at the gate.

The Servant, a Light to the Nations

Here is my servant, whom I uphold, my chosen, in whom my soul delights; I have put my spirit upon him; he will bring forth justice to the nations.

Ah, you who turn justice to wormwood and bring righteousness to the ground!

“Here is my servant, whom I have chosen, my beloved, with whom my soul is well pleased. I will put my Spirit upon him, and he will proclaim justice to the gentiles.

He will not break a bruised reed or quench a smoldering wick until he brings justice to victory.

And will not God grant justice to his chosen ones who cry to him day and night? Will he delay long in helping them?

I tell you, he will quickly grant justice to them. And yet, when the Son of Man comes, will he find faith on earth?”

open your eyes, O Lord, and see, for the dead who are in Hades, whose spirit has been taken from their bodies, will not ascribe glory or justice to the Lord,
