  16. So they come to you as people do, they sit before you as My people, and they hear your words, but they do not do them; for with their mouth they show much love, but their hearts pursue their own gain.
  17. Brood of vipers! How can you, being evil, speak good things? For out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaks.
  18. ‘These people draw near to Me with their mouth, And honor Me with their lips, But their heart is far from Me.
  19. But those things which proceed out of the mouth come from the heart, and they defile a man.
  20. A good man out of the good treasure of his heart brings forth good; and an evil man out of the evil treasure of his heart brings forth evil. For out of the abundance of the heart his mouth speaks.
  21. But what does it say? “The word is near you, in your mouth and in your heart” (that is, the word of faith which we preach):
  22. that if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved.
  23. For with the heart one believes unto righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.
