  16. For the Son of Man has come to save that which was lost.
  17. So Jesus said to them, “Assuredly I say to you, that in the regeneration, when the Son of Man sits on the throne of His glory, you who have followed Me will also sit on twelve thrones, judging the twelve tribes of Israel.
  18. “Behold, we are going up to Jerusalem, and the Son of Man will be betrayed to the chief priests and to the scribes; and they will condemn Him to death,
  19. just as the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give His life a ransom for many.”
  20. For as the lightning comes from the east and flashes to the west, so also will the coming of the Son of Man be.
  21. The Coming of the Son of Man

    “Immediately after the tribulation of those days the sun will be darkened, and the moon will not give its light; the stars will fall from heaven, and the powers of the heavens will be shaken.
  22. Then the sign of the Son of Man will appear in heaven, and then all the tribes of the earth will mourn, and they will see the Son of Man coming on the clouds of heaven with power and great glory.
  23. But as the days of Noah were, so also will the coming of the Son of Man be.
  24. and did not know until the flood came and took them all away, so also will the coming of the Son of Man be.
  25. Therefore you also be ready, for the Son of Man is coming at an hour you do not expect.

  34. Jesus Predicts His Death and Resurrection

    And He began to teach them that the Son of Man must suffer many things, and be rejected by the elders and chief priests and scribes, and be killed, and after three days rise again.
  35. For whoever is ashamed of Me and My words in this adulterous and sinful generation, of him the Son of Man also will be ashamed when He comes in the glory of His Father with the holy angels.”
  36. Now as they came down from the mountain, He commanded them that they should tell no one the things they had seen, till the Son of Man had risen from the dead.
  37. Then He answered and told them, “Indeed, Elijah is coming first and restores all things. And how is it written concerning the Son of Man, that He must suffer many things and be treated with contempt?

  66. The Coming of the Son of Man

    “And there will be signs in the sun, in the moon, and in the stars; and on the earth distress of nations, with perplexity, the sea and the waves roaring;
  67. Then they will see the Son of Man coming in a cloud with power and great glory.
  68. Watch therefore, and pray always that you may be counted worthy to escape all these things that will come to pass, and to stand before the Son of Man.”

  82. The people answered Him, “We have heard from the law that the Christ remains forever; and how can You say, ‘The Son of Man must be lifted up’ ? Who is this Son of Man?”
