  7. Jesus Predicts His Death

  8. If anyone is ashamed of me and my words in this adulterous and sinful generation, the Son of Man will be ashamed of them when he comes in his Father’s glory with the holy angels.”

  15. Blind Bartimaeus Receives His Sight

    Then they came to Jericho. As Jesus and his disciples, together with a large crowd, were leaving the city, a blind man, Bartimaeus (which means “son of Timaeus”), was sitting by the roadside begging.
  16. Many rebuked him and told him to be quiet, but he shouted all the more, “Son of David, have mercy on me!”
  17. “At that time people will see the Son of Man coming in clouds with great power and glory.

  21. And when the centurion, who stood there in front of Jesus, saw how he died, he said, “Surely this man was the Son of God!”
  22. Moreover, demons came out of many people, shouting, “You are the Son of God!” But he rebuked them and would not allow them to speak, because they knew he was the Messiah.
  23. But I want you to know that the Son of Man has authority on earth to forgive sins.” So he said to the paralyzed man, “I tell you, get up, take your mat and go home.”
  24. Then Jesus said to them, “The Son of Man is Lord of the Sabbath.”
  25. Blessed are you when people hate you, when they exclude you and insult you and reject your name as evil, because of the Son of Man.
