  17. Why not say—as some slanderously claim that we say—“Let us do evil that good may result”? Their condemnation is just!
  18. Therefore do not let sin reign in your mortal body so that you obey its evil desires.
  19. For I do not do the good I want to do, but the evil I do not want to do—this I keep on doing.
  20. So I find this law at work: Although I want to do good, evil is right there with me.

    Love must be sincere. Hate what is evil; cling to what is good.
  22. Do not repay anyone evil for evil. Be careful to do what is right in the eyes of everyone.
  23. Do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good.
  24. Therefore do not let what you know is good be spoken of as evil.
  25. Everyone has heard about your obedience, so I rejoice because of you; but I want you to be wise about what is good, and innocent about what is evil.
