    After they stopped speaking, James responded, saying, “Brothers, listen to me.
  2. Therefore, it is my judgment that we do not cause trouble for those from the Gentiles who are turning to God,
  3. But while Gallio was proconsul of Achaia, the Jews rose up together against Paul and brought him before the judgment seat,
  4. And he drove them away from the judgment seat.
  5. But they all took hold of Sosthenes, the leader of the synagogue, and began beating him in front of the judgment seat. And yet Gallio was not concerned about any of these things.

  7. The Impartiality of God

    Therefore you have no excuse, you foolish person, everyone of you who passes judgment; for in that matter in which you judge someone else, you condemn yourself; for you who judge practice the same things.
  8. And we know that the judgment of God rightly falls upon those who practice such things.

  12. Oh, the depth of the riches, both of the wisdom and knowledge of God! How unsearchable are His judgments and unfathomable His ways!
  13. For through the grace given to me I say to everyone among you not to think more highly of himself than he ought to think; but to think so as to have sound judgment, as God has allotted to each a measure of faith.
  14. But as for you, why do you judge your brother or sister? Or you as well, why do you regard your brother or sister with contempt? For we will all appear before the judgment seat of God.
  15. Now I urge you, brothers and sisters, by the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that you all agree and that there be no divisions among you, but that you be made complete in the same mind and in the same judgment.
  16. Therefore do not go on passing judgment before the time, but wait until the Lord comes, who will both bring to light the things hidden in the darkness and disclose the motives of human hearts; and then praise will come to each person from God.
  17. I am not just asserting these things according to human judgment, am I? Or does the Law not say these things as well?
  18. For the one who eats and drinks, eats and drinks judgment to himself if he does not properly recognize the body.
  19. If anyone is hungry, have him eat at home, so that you do not come together for judgment. As to the remaining matters, I will give instructions when I come.
  20. Have two or three prophets speak, and have the others pass judgment.
  21. For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ, so that each one may receive compensation for his deeds done through the body, in accordance with what he has done, whether good or bad.
  22. This is a plain indication of God’s righteous judgment so that you will be considered worthy of the kingdom of God, for which you indeed are suffering.
