  1. So Moses and Aaron went to Pharaoh and said to him, “This is what the Lord, the God of the Hebrews says: ‘How long will you refuse to humble yourself before Me? Let My people go, so that they may serve Me.

  23. How long am I to feel anxious in my soul, With grief in my heart all the day? How long will my enemy be exalted over me?
  24. Lord, how long will You look on? Rescue my soul from their ravages, My only life from the lions.
  25. How long will you attack a man, That you may murder him, all of you, Like a leaning wall, like a tottering fence?
  26. We do not see our signs; There is no longer any prophet, Nor is there anyone among us who knows how long.
  27. How long, God, will the enemy taunt You? Shall the enemy treat Your name disrespectfully forever?
  28. Arise, God, and plead Your own cause; Remember how the foolish person taunts You all day long.

    How lovely are Your dwelling places, Lord of armies!
  33. How long, Lord? Will You hide Yourself forever? Will Your wrath burn like fire?
  34. Do return, Lord; how long will it be? And be sorry for Your servants.
  35. How long, Lord, shall the wicked— How long shall the wicked triumph?
  36. How long, you naive ones, will you love simplistic thinking? And how long will scoffers delight themselves in scoffing And fools hate knowledge?
  37. How long will you lie down, you lazy one? When will you arise from your sleep?
  38. A poor yet wise youth is better than an old and foolish king who no longer knows how to receive instruction—

  40. God Is Gracious and Just

    Therefore the Lord longs to be gracious to you, And therefore He waits on high to have compassion on you. For the Lord is a God of justice; How blessed are all those who long for Him.
  41. And now, what do I have here,” declares the Lord, “seeing that My people have been taken away without reason?” Again the Lord declares, “Those who rule over them howl, and My name is continually reviled all day long.
