Then he said: I am God, the God of your father. Do not be afraid to go down to Egypt, for there I will make you a great nation.

Moses answered the people, “Do not be afraid, for God has come only to test you and put the fear of him upon you so you do not sin.”

Only do not rebel against the Lord! You need not be afraid of the people of the land, for they are but food for us! Their protection has left them, but the Lord is with us. Do not fear them.”

Chapter 8

Capture of Ai. The Lord then said to Joshua: Do not be afraid or dismayed. Take all the army with you and prepare to attack Ai. I have delivered the king of Ai into your power, with his people, city, and land.

Then Joshua said to them, “Do not be afraid or dismayed, be firm and steadfast. This is what the Lord will do to all the enemies against whom you fight.”

Jael went out to meet Sisera and said to him, “Turn aside, my lord, turn aside with me; do not be afraid.” So he went into her tent, and she covered him with a rug.

She was about to die when the women standing around her said to her, “Do not be afraid, you have given birth to a son.” Yet she neither answered nor paid any attention.

Stay with me. Do not be afraid; whoever seeks your life must seek my life also. You are under my protection.”

But the king said to her, “Do not be afraid. What do you see?” “I see a god rising from the earth,” she replied.

Beg the Lord of heaven that mercy and protection be granted you. Do not be afraid, for she was set apart for you before the world existed. You will save her, and she will go with you. And I assume that you will have children by her, and they will be like brothers for you. So do not worry.” When Tobiah heard Raphael’s words that she was his kinswoman, and of the lineage of his ancestral house, he loved her deeply, and his heart was truly set on her.

Do not be afraid of this executioner, but be worthy of your brothers and accept death, so that in the time of mercy I may receive you again with your brothers.”

When you lie down, you will not be afraid, when you rest, your sleep will be sweet.

Do not be afraid of sudden terror, of the ruin of the wicked when it comes;
