  1. Lord God, do not turn away the face of Your anointed; remember Your faithfulness to Your servant David.”
  2. All the sons of Israel, seeing the fire come down and the glory of the Lord upon the house, bowed down on the pavement with their faces to the ground, and they worshiped and gave praise to the Lord, saying, “Certainly He is good, certainly His faithfulness is everlasting.”

  6. Faithless Priests

    Now it came about after this that Joash decided to restore the house of the Lord.
  7. They faithfully brought in the contributions, the tithes, and the consecrated things; and Conaniah the Levite was the officer in charge of them, and his brother Shimei was second.
  8. Under his authority were Eden, Miniamin, Jeshua, Shemaiah, Amariah, and Shecaniah, in the cities of the priests, to distribute their portions faithfully to their brothers by divisions, whether great or small,
  9. The genealogical enrollment included all their little children, their wives, their sons, and their daughters, for the whole assembly, for they consecrated themselves faithfully in holiness.
  10. Sennacherib Invades Judah

    After these acts of faithfulness Sennacherib king of Assyria came and invaded Judah and besieged the fortified cities, and intended to break into them for himself.
  11. The men did the work faithfully with foremen over them to supervise: Jahath and Obadiah, the Levites of the sons of Merari, Zechariah and Meshullam of the sons of the Kohathites, and the Levites, all who were skillful with musical instruments.
  12. I said, “Please, Lord God of heaven, the great and awesome God, who keeps the covenant and faithfulness for those who love Him and keep His commandments:
  13. then I put Hanani my brother, and Hananiah the commander of the citadel, in charge of Jerusalem, for he was a faithful man and feared God more than many.
  14. You found his heart faithful before You, And made a covenant with him To give him the land of the Canaanite, Of the Hittite and the Amorite, Of the Perizzite, the Jebusite, and the Girgashite— To give it to his descendants. And You have fulfilled Your promise, Because You are righteous.
  15. “Now then, our God, the great, the mighty, and the awesome God, who keeps His covenant and faithfulness, Do not let all the hardship seem insignificant before You, Which has happened to us, our kings, our leaders, our priests, our prophets, our fathers, and to all Your people, From the days of the kings of Assyria to this day.
  16. However, You are righteous in everything that has happened to us; For You have dealt faithfully, but we have acted wickedly.
  17. Will you have faith in him that he will return your grain And gather it from your threshing floor?
  18. God, a Helper against the Treacherous.

    Help, Lord, for the godly person has come to an end, For the faithful have disappeared from the sons of mankind.
  19. But I have trusted in Your faithfulness; My heart shall rejoice in Your salvation.
  20. Show Your wonderful faithfulness, Savior of those who take refuge at Your right hand From those who rise up against them.
  21. With the faithful You show Yourself faithful; With the blameless You prove Yourself blameless;
  22. He gives great salvation to His king, And shows faithfulness to His anointed, To David and his descendants forever.
  23. For the king trusts in the Lord, And through the faithfulness of the Most High he will not be shaken.
  24. Certainly goodness and faithfulness will follow me all the days of my life, And my dwelling will be in the house of the Lord forever.
  25. Remember, Lord, Your compassion and Your faithfulness, For they have been from of old.
