  1. And the man Micah had a shrine and he made an ephod and household idols, and consecrated one of his sons, so that he might become his priest.

    Then the five men who went to spy out the country of Laish said to their kinsmen, “Do you know that there are in these houses an ephod and household idols, and a carved image and a cast metal image? Now then, consider what you should do.”

  11. Now it came about, when Abiathar the son of Ahimelech fled to David at Keilah, that he came down with an ephod in his hand.
  12. But David knew that Saul was plotting evil against him; so he said to Abiathar the priest, “Bring the ephod here.”
  13. Then David said to Abiathar the priest, the son of Ahimelech, “Please bring me the ephod.” So Abiathar brought the ephod to David.
  14. And David was dancing before the Lord with all his strength, and David was wearing a linen ephod.
  15. Now David was clothed with a robe of fine linen with all the Levites who were carrying the ark, and the singers, and Chenaniah the leader of the singing with the singers. David also wore an ephod of linen.
  16. For the sons of Israel will live for many days without a king or leader, without sacrifice or memorial stone, and without ephod or household idols.
