  16. He cuts off every branch in me that bears no fruit, while every branch that does bear fruit he prunes so that it will be even more fruitful.
  17. I no longer call you servants, because a servant does not know his master’s business. Instead, I have called you friends, for everything that I learned from my Father I have made known to you.
  18. They will put you out of the synagogue; in fact, the time is coming when anyone who kills you will think they are offering a service to God.
  19. Now we can see that you know all things and that you do not even need to have anyone ask you questions. This makes us believe that you came from God.”
