  10. Each of the four living creatures had six wings and was covered with eyes all around, even under its wings. Day and night they never stop saying: “‘Holy, holy, holy is the Lord God Almighty,’ who was, and is, and is to come.”
  11. Then one of the elders said to me, “Do not weep! See, the Lion of the tribe of Judah, the Root of David, has triumphed. He is able to open the scroll and its seven seals.”

  13. For the great day of their wrath has come, and who can withstand it?”
  14. Therefore, “they are before the throne of God and serve him day and night in his temple; and he who sits on the throne will shelter them with his presence.
  15. The fourth angel sounded his trumpet, and a third of the sun was struck, a third of the moon, and a third of the stars, so that a third of them turned dark. A third of the day was without light, and also a third of the night.
  16. During those days people will seek death but will not find it; they will long to die, but death will elude them.
  17. And the four angels who had been kept ready for this very hour and day and month and year were released to kill a third of mankind.
  18. The rest of mankind who were not killed by these plagues still did not repent of the work of their hands; they did not stop worshiping demons, and idols of gold, silver, bronze, stone and wood—idols that cannot see or hear or walk.
  19. Then the angel I had seen standing on the sea and on the land raised his right hand to heaven.
  20. But in the days when the seventh angel is about to sound his trumpet, the mystery of God will be accomplished, just as he announced to his servants the prophets.”
  21. And I will appoint my two witnesses, and they will prophesy for 1,260 days, clothed in sackcloth.”
  22. For three and a half days some from every people, tribe, language and nation will gaze on their bodies and refuse them burial.
  23. But after the three and a half days the breath of life from God entered them, and they stood on their feet, and terror struck those who saw them.
  24. Then God’s temple in heaven was opened, and within his temple was seen the ark of his covenant. And there came flashes of lightning, rumblings, peals of thunder, an earthquake and a severe hailstorm.
  25. The woman fled into the wilderness to a place prepared for her by God, where she might be taken care of for 1,260 days.
