  1. The one who is victorious will, like them, be dressed in white. I will never blot out the name of that person from the book of life, but will acknowledge that name before my Father and his angels.
  2. To the Church in Philadelphia

    “To the angel of the church in Philadelphia write: These are the words of him who is holy and true, who holds the key of David. What he opens no one can shut, and what he shuts no one can open.
  3. I know your deeds. See, I have placed before you an open door that no one can shut. I know that you have little strength, yet you have kept my word and have not denied my name.
  4. Here I am! I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears my voice and opens the door, I will come in and eat with that person, and they with me.
  5. The Throne in Heaven

    After this I looked, and there before me was a door standing open in heaven. And the voice I had first heard speaking to me like a trumpet said, “Come up here, and I will show you what must take place after this.”
  6. And I saw a mighty angel proclaiming in a loud voice, “Who is worthy to break the seals and open the scroll?”
  7. But no one in heaven or on earth or under the earth could open the scroll or even look inside it.
  8. I wept and wept because no one was found who was worthy to open the scroll or look inside.
  9. Then one of the elders said to me, “Do not weep! See, the Lion of the tribe of Judah, the Root of David, has triumphed. He is able to open the scroll and its seven seals.”
  10. And they sang a new song, saying: “You are worthy to take the scroll and to open its seals, because you were slain, and with your blood you purchased for God persons from every tribe and language and people and nation.
  11. The Seals

    I watched as the Lamb opened the first of the seven seals. Then I heard one of the four living creatures say in a voice like thunder, “Come!”
  12. When the Lamb opened the second seal, I heard the second living creature say, “Come!”
  13. When the Lamb opened the third seal, I heard the third living creature say, “Come!” I looked, and there before me was a black horse! Its rider was holding a pair of scales in his hand.
  14. When the Lamb opened the fourth seal, I heard the voice of the fourth living creature say, “Come!”
  15. When he opened the fifth seal, I saw under the altar the souls of those who had been slain because of the word of God and the testimony they had maintained.
  16. I watched as he opened the sixth seal. There was a great earthquake. The sun turned black like sackcloth made of goat hair, the whole moon turned blood red,
  17. The Seventh Seal and the Golden Censer

    When he opened the seventh seal, there was silence in heaven for about half an hour.
  18. When he opened the Abyss, smoke rose from it like the smoke from a gigantic furnace. The sun and sky were darkened by the smoke from the Abyss.
  19. He was holding a little scroll, which lay open in his hand. He planted his right foot on the sea and his left foot on the land,
  20. Then the voice that I had heard from heaven spoke to me once more: “Go, take the scroll that lies open in the hand of the angel who is standing on the sea and on the land.”
  21. Then God’s temple in heaven was opened, and within his temple was seen the ark of his covenant. And there came flashes of lightning, rumblings, peals of thunder, an earthquake and a severe hailstorm.
  22. But the earth helped the woman by opening its mouth and swallowing the river that the dragon had spewed out of his mouth.
  23. It opened its mouth to blaspheme God, and to slander his name and his dwelling place and those who live in heaven.
  24. All inhabitants of the earth will worship the beast—all whose names have not been written in the Lamb’s book of life, the Lamb who was slain from the creation of the world.
  25. After this I looked, and I saw in heaven the temple—that is, the tabernacle of the covenant law—and it was opened.
