  1. And, “Thou, Lord, didst found the earth in the beginning, and the heavens are the work of thy hands;

    Therefore, holy brethren, who share in a heavenly call, consider Jesus, the apostle and high priest of our confession.

    Now even the first covenant had regulations for worship and an earthly sanctuary.
  9. Christ’s Sacrifice Takes Away Sin

    Thus it was necessary for the copies of the heavenly things to be purified with these rites, but the heavenly things themselves with better sacrifices than these.
  10. For Christ has entered, not into a sanctuary made with hands, a copy of the true one, but into heaven itself, now to appear in the presence of God on our behalf.
  11. Therefore from one man, and him as good as dead, were born descendants as many as the stars of heaven and as the innumerable grains of sand by the seashore.
  12. But as it is, they desire a better country, that is, a heavenly one. Therefore God is not ashamed to be called their God, for he has prepared for them a city.
  13. But you have come to Mount Zion and to the city of the living God, the heavenly Jerusalem, and to innumerable angels in festal gathering,
  14. and to the assembly of the first-born who are enrolled in heaven, and to a judge who is God of all, and to the spirits of just men made perfect,
  15. See that you do not refuse him who is speaking. For if they did not escape when they refused him who warned them on earth, much less shall we escape if we reject him who warns from heaven.
  16. His voice then shook the earth; but now he has promised, “Yet once more I will shake not only the earth but also the heaven.”
