  1. God’s Final Word in His Son

    God, after He spoke long ago to the fathers in the prophets in many portions and in many ways,
  2. And He is the radiance of His glory and the exact representation of His nature, and upholds all things by the word of His power. When He had made purification of sins, He sat down at the right hand of the Majesty on high,
  3. For if the word spoken through angels proved unalterable, and every violation and act of disobedience received a just punishment,
  4. For indeed we have had good news preached to us, just as they also did; but the word they heard did not benefit them, because they were not united with those who listened with faith.
  5. For the word of God is living and active, and sharper than any two-edged sword, even penetrating as far as the division of soul and spirit, of both joints and marrow, and able to judge the thoughts and intentions of the heart.
  6. For though by this time you ought to be teachers, you have need again for someone to teach you the elementary principles of the actual words of God, and you have come to need milk and not solid food.
  7. For everyone who partakes only of milk is unacquainted with the word of righteousness, for he is an infant.

  9. For the Law appoints men as high priests who are weak, but the word of the oath, which came after the Law, appoints a Son, who has been made perfect forever.
  10. By faith we understand that the world has been created by the word of God so that what is seen has not been made out of things that are visible.
  11. and to the blast of a trumpet and the sound of words, which sound was such that those who heard begged that no further word be spoken to them.
  12. Remember those who led you, who spoke the word of God to you; and considering the result of their way of life, imitate their faith.
  13. But I urge you, brothers and sisters, listen patiently to this word of exhortation, for I have written to you briefly.
