And, “You, Lord, in the beginning laid the foundation of the earth, And the heavens are the works of Your hands;

how will we escape if we neglect so great a salvation? After it was at first spoken through the Lord, it was confirmed to us by those who heard,

For it is evident that our Lord was descended from Judah, a tribe with reference to which Moses said nothing concerning priests.

(for they indeed became priests without an oath, but He with an oath through the One who said to Him, “The Lord has sworn And will not change His mind, ‘You are a priest forever’”);

a minister in the sanctuary and in the true tabernacle, which the Lord set up, not man.

For in finding fault with the people, He says, “Behold, days are coming, says the Lord, When I will bring about a new covenant With the house of Israel and the house of Judah,

Not like the covenant which I made with their fathers On the day I took them by the hand To bring them out of the land of Egypt; For they did not continue in My covenant, And I did not care about them, says the Lord.

For this is the covenant which I will make with the house of Israel After those days, declares the Lord: I will put My laws into their minds, And write them on their hearts. And I will be their God, And they shall be My people.

And they will not teach, each one his fellow citizen, And each one his brother, saying, ‘Know the Lord,’ For they will all know Me, From the least to the greatest of them.

“This is the covenant which I will make with them After those days, declares the Lord: I will put My laws upon their hearts, And write them on their mind,” He then says,

For we know Him who said, “Vengeance is Mine, I will repay.” And again, “The Lord will judge His people.”

and you have forgotten the exhortation which is addressed to you as sons, “My son, do not regard lightly the discipline of the Lord, Nor faint when you are punished by Him;

For whom the Lord loves He disciplines, And He punishes every son whom He accepts.”

Pursue peace with all people, and the holiness without which no one will see the Lord.

so that we confidently say, “The Lord is my helper, I will not be afraid. What will man do to me?”

Now may the God of peace, who brought up from the dead the great Shepherd of the sheep through the blood of the eternal covenant, that is, Jesus our Lord,
